Any hidden gems that I wouldn't know this year like Confidence Man snd Barry Cant Swim which I got from here and both were very good.

I wouldn't say there's much in that vein. Duke Dumont, Ben Hensley and Obskur are popular but are more straight forward house. I would say Geese are a lot of fun live for how great they are as musicians but they're probably not really a hidden gem at this point.

Anyone any idea what night geese are playing?

I'll checkout Ben and Obskur although I'm into any music really(they were just the two I didn't know last year)

I saw that new band Keo are in the lineup, supposedly the new up-and-coming band in the UK(rock)

Been up-and-coming for nearing on 3 years now. Been to a couple of their headline shows - pretty good band but becoming a bit notorious for their whole gimmick being that they’re the next big thing.

Any word on camp sites/ticket opening?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,271 ✭✭✭hawaii501

Yeah I only just saw they are still yet to release their debut album :)

I'll probably check them out as never saw them before.

Hello Leccy Piccy thread how's it going, the ole thread has being dormant for a while, just letting ya know I'm still here.

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)

Gave up on the picnic a few years back but this years line up is pulling me back in, the question is if you don't get the early entry pass for Thursday night what's the chances of getting an ok spot on Friday lunchtime?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,100 ✭✭✭rubick

Last year we didn't arrive until nearly teatime Friday and ended up in the car park across the Abbeyleix Road that was furthest away from the wristband exchange. So that was at least a 2k walk to there, then another 2k to the new Eco campsite. There were spaces available in there in the second section but we walked through Joplin and whatever that new one is before the Eco site and they were all full.

In recent years we have seen Joplin, Hendrix and Warhol largely full on the Thursday night. Friday lunchtime is pushing it IMO.

My other half bought early entry passes when he was buying a campervan pass but I don't think we'll need them with the campervan so he may resell them on ticketmaster nearer the time. I must ask him later if he has that option. Sometimes they take a while

You just reminded me to get thur early entry thanks!
I skipped early entry for years, trying avoid another day off work, more time in a tent etc, but we got stung 2016/17 there was literally zero spots by the time we arrived fri at 2-3, we walked and walked with all our gear, after what felt like an eternity we finally got sorted, pretty much at the edge of a walk way, tent was f**ked after it. We learned afterwards lots of ppl were in the same boat and they eventually opened an overflow campsite, but there wasn’t communication around this. Deffo unwanted stress, all you want to do is setup and get a can in!! Today I think it’s a little better.
I’ve done early entry ever since. With the 40k its feels insanely full on Thursday night! Obviously there’s spaces, but you’d almost need someone scouting ahead. Like Rubick said ECO still had room fri/sat!

Just remembering how far Eco was away🥹almost 2.5km from main stage, distance is one thing, my challenge was forgetting something like a jacket.. meant 1.5 hour trip to tent and back!!

Evaluating if I’ll return, did anyone stay in glitterball?

    1st 2 times i went, i was in a friends campervan, palacial !

next two times in Pink Moon, which was very good,

last year in Eco, which was a very good campsite tbf, but a substantial trek with the gear, went with Early Entry for all 5 visits, well worth it, if you can get the time off etc.

this year as boss is coming, who won’t camp ! so its a hotel this year

I know it gets plugged a lot but worth giving pyngo a go. I got tickets for various sold out events with it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,710 ✭✭✭davywalsh7

I’ve used pyngo myself a few times. Works great.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 236 ✭✭KawaKris

Would you get Campervan tickets on Pyngo ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,403 ✭✭✭endainoz

Id say so, would work the same way when they're available.

are camper vans not physical I.e they can’t be resold the standard way?

Campervan "tickets" are physical, couriered out a couple of weeks before. I'd be wary of buying before then unless it's someone you know and trust IRL.
