My year, 1993, had very heavy rainfall, after a wet spring. Especially the first week of the LC. Almost 4in of rain fell on Fri (10/11?) June in parts of the east.

    Great work, thanks 😊

Oops forgot we're now in meteorological summer lol.

So to keep this thread on topic, it was overall a notably dry and mild spring with above average sunshine here in Dublin. It was the driest since the extremely dry lockdown spring in 2020. Going back to mid-April when comments were like this was one of the most miserable springs in living memory at that time. I didn't agree then and I especially don't agree now. Now yes it wasn't smooth sailing fine throughout - when is an Irish season ever? First half of April was pretty crap, especially in the west where it was exceptionally wet and first three weeks of May were mostly mediocre at best and sometimes very poor. March was fine as far as Marches go, second half of April was a significant improvement though felt often too chilly here on the east coast to be memorably good but the last third of May was extremely memorable.

The west had a wetter than average spring, largely skewed by that first half of April. May was quite cloudy in the west as well and that is disappointing for what is the sunniest month of the year on average.

Overall, not one of my favourite springs. Not a 2020 or 2025. But not a 2013 either. It was better than average as far as Irish springs go in my view from my part of the country. I can see the point of view that it was a little poor for some other places. Now hopefully summer steps up some gears the more we go into it as it's starting off poor.

I was Inter Cert, the last year of it in 1991. There was frost early that June and cold.

Love it @sryanbruen I was LC 94 I'm sure I'm remember weather too nice for stuck in exam hall. Have JC in the house. Study last week in the gorgeous sunshine. Looks like lower temps, more suitable for the exam halls starting Wednesday.

Horrible day up to now 230 here in Meath. Trying to brighten up.

I have an LC student too. Their school was a sauna last week so I would say they are relieved it will be cooler this week. Still quite muggy though.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth house?

not a nice afternoon here in Meath, frequent showers, often very heavy drizzle in nature with heavy short lived bursts of proper rain mixed in.

That's right and minimum temperatures got down to around minus 2 in the Midlands if I remember correctly .

The Norths record low temperature for June was recorded on the 4th June 1991 -2.4c. Can’t see anything for this side of the border but probably around -2 as well.
