I'm hopeful that people who, when they started out as debaters on this thread, were believers in Trump but have changed their minds and trust in him having read through the arguments and decided that he is a person not trustable or worth supporting, that the debate has been of worth to the future of the world after they deny him the pleasure of continuing as a wrecking ball.

Haven't pretty much all weapons tech, systems, logistics etc for the last 50 years been at least broadly compatible among NATO members?

Winning the Maine seat is important for the Democrats to have a shot at taking the Senate.

They probably should have given some thought to that before backing such a grossly inappropriate candidate.

He had a Nazi tattoo for years (immediately should be disqualifying), there are multiple stories of him mocking dead American service personnel on Reddit as well as him talking about going to war cause he wanted to kill people. He keep talking about Collins "sending" him to Iraq despite him enlisting after the war started, volunteering for multiple deployments and then going back with Blackwater afterwards. He has claimed women who have been raped essentially deserved it. He has lied about his finances multiple times.

Just a godawful candidate and I'm sure worse will continue to come out. It is absolutely ridiculous that anyone in the Democratic establishment is still supporting him.

Edit: Back in 2016 I was open to Trump with reservations. I would have been a Democrat leaner if I was an American. But I had reservations about some of the things going in in some universities where I felt free speech (and no I dont mean neo Nazis, whose exclusion I welcome) was being shut down. I support free and open debate, as part of democracy, including where I disagree with views expressed.

For example the fires started by protesters in Berkeley University, California, to shut down visits by conservative speakers. I have very little in common politically with the likes of Ben Shapiro or Anne Coulter but I defend their right to their opinions.

In his first term, Trump quickly defeated ISIS in Iraq and Syria, ending the genocides it was committing. While I always disliked his friendly tone with Putin, Ukraine was not invaded a second time until 2022, during the Biden administration. Back then there were competent advisors and Establishment figures like Mike Pompeo and Mike Pence to protect the constitutional guardrails.

I now despise the Trump regime. Unlike Obama, it has forced censorship on the universities using withheld funds as leverage. A president giving himself immunity from investigation is banana republic behaviour. The WH is flouting many court rulings, and moving migrants around to find a judge that will support their detention.

Yes I despise its arming of Israel but Biden did that too.

    1) it's not an IQ test, it's a cognitive test

    2) the only reason he is taking it is because he was told it was the former AND that he is scoring better than anyone else

    3) the fact that he believes it's a IQ test should be deemed a failure of a cognitive test

    4) the fact that this is his fourth demonstrates some sort of concern on the part of his medical advisors

    5) he probably insists on getting a lolly when he's done

He must be absolutely cooked health wise. No wonder he's trying to do all these stupid things and get his face on money etc. He's petrified he has no legacy to speak of.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 15,790 ✭✭✭✭retalivity

oh, he has/will have a legacy alright, just not one he would/should be proud of

there is an old Islamic, I think , saying “ My work speaks for me”. So you do not have to waist your time regaining with others the amount of work you do, etc, etc, etc.

I wonder would Trump follow the same action and release the actual report of all his tests and which is signed by appropriate professionals and who can be verified.
maybe he intends doing this after the full range of Epstein files are released?

I sincerely believe his legacy will include his name in an accepted phrase used by all from now on…."(insert failure) has been an epic failure of Trumpian proportions".

Language evolves. Currently the verb "trump" means to beat or surpass. I could see it changing to mean fail or lose or steal or cheat or grift or .....

The regime propaganda about his health reminds me of the USSR.

Andropov was as healthy as an Ox!
Chernenko had the lungs of an Olympic swimmer and Comrade Brezhnev was even more mentally astute, aware & intelligent than Comrade Krasnov.
    Truly…
Intellectual giants and the latter 2 especially, heroes of the Motherland👀

Doctors simply don't say 'you got that wrong' in cognitive tests, they will just agree and go on to the next question. Trump is inventing the rest of the conversation, especially the bit about it being any sort of intelligence test. God, he is thick.

Who is Donald Trump’s granddaughter Arabella Kushner? | Watch

You would think Arabella's parents have enough real experience about the paedo to keep him miles away from their daughter.

Jaysus….even by the standards of his increasingly unhinged rants, this one is grotesque.

Platners wife accuses the woman who leaked the story about her husbands alleged texts to another woman early in their marriage of betrayal of confidence.

Only the Best, another story! (long read)

    FEMA F*ck up

In late December, the chief of staff for Republican Rep. Kevin Kiley sent a sharply worded email to the White House, subject line “Five Alarm Fire.” Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s “ridiculous” stranglehold on FEMA was choking off funds his California district needed — a district, the email noted, that President Donald Trump had carried.

During her 13 months running DHS, Noem, along with her de facto chief of staff Corey Lewandowski, waged war on FEMA, throttling operations, stalling payments, and driving out most of the senior leadership and by one count roughly 20% of the workforce. Amid the havoc, multiple sources told CNN the agency failed to make critical payments — from basic utilities to security operators that protect dangerous materials like anthrax

With the Atlantic hurricane season starting Monday, agency insiders warn that FEMA has been significantly
weakened and will likely struggle to respond to a large-scale disaster this summer — the likes of which this administration, remarkably, has not yet faced. The agency is racing to fill vacant roles, restart halted
trainings and exercises, and close gaps left by funding that was delayed or cut. But sources say it will likely take years to undo the damage that’s been done.

It's unbelievable that the Dems would potentially throw the Maine seat (probably their most likely pick-up) in this way. I've had concerns about Platner since I first heard of him a year or so ago. Unfortunately the only alternative was Govr Janet Mills who's nearly as old as Collins and has pulled out now anyway. At best, he has the makings of another Fetterman.

    In theory?

But no. Not really. Keeping in my wheelhouse, part of the reason that the M1 tank is being effectively redesigned from the ground up is that the current tank is add-on after add-on, instead of integration. For example, to install the Norwegian remote weapon station onto the US tank, it turned out that the video system was compatible, but the control system was not. As a result, they had to bolt a new control handle inside the tank right next the tank’s existing control handle. Adds weight, complexity and cost. If you want to add a new US radio, will it interfere with the Israeli Trophy or Iron Fist sensor system which is also being added? (Answer, yes).

Even stuff supposedly software compatible like US CPCE/UK Sitaware (which are really the same software) don’t necessarily talk well each each others’ tactical reporting systems like JBCP.

They can get it to work, we’re doing it. But it’s not efficient.

Saw a clip just now of Marco Rubio speaking at the White House podium saying they are going to demand the UN gets involved to open the straits of Hormuz.

He said he doesn't think people realize how unacceptable it was for Iran to have done what they have done?

Does he think that we don't know or forget that the US bombed Iranian ships in international waters and then gloried in how they had sent them to the bottom of the sea?

The history books are going to be incredibly harsh on the members of this administration.

They have shown themselves to be almost entirely incompetent on the world stage in a way few in previous administrations did so bluntly and so frequently. It's pretty shocking how bad they have become.

Lindsey Graham was right, wasn't he when he said if we elect Donald Trump, he will destroy us".

Tbf he could be a godsend as he is ridiculously overqualified to actually be a leading MAGAhead. He could appeal to Trumps base and lure them to vote democrat.

Funny how people are now 'concerned' about Platner, just because they read about his tattoo this week or whatever. Platner discussed this months ago, it's genuinely looks as if there's a concerted effort by some in the media to discredit him in favour of Susan Collins.

What's more worrying imo is his time in Blackwater. We know what kind of **** they got up to.

There is obviously nothing wrong with a country celebrating its 250th anniversary, but it is a tragedy that such an event coincides with the president being a massively divisive narcissistic corrupt creep. They voted for him so it is a tragedy of their own making.

Surely this is a job for the "board of peace"?

You could of course let the Israelis pay for the incompatibilities. Or you could stop supporting war criminals all together.
