But for Con Dublin Would he in trouble here. Like Wicklow game Dublin tagged a few quick scores near end of half to make it look more respectable. Dublin dominated and missed alot of chances.

My concern is Dublins intensity can waver in second half of games particularly if the opponents build up some steam. And Dublin subs options aren’t great and usually means to lessor quality.

Also, whatever breeeze advantage there was think Dublin slightly had it so might see more Louth 2 pointers.

On plus side, Much better intensity and even though only 16k, surprisingly more dubs.

I don’t know what to make of it . At one stage looked better than Portlaoise match. More energy as you say . But at the same time look very loose defensively and there for the taking.
That goal Louth got no one even attempted to close him or push up. Probably the lowest attendance for a Dublin Croke Park match I have seen.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

    Louth upping the tempo

Dublin defence might as well wave Louth lads on when they run at them. The defenders just stop unbelievable on the goals . What use dominant on ball if so poor defensively? Wasting chances too

What a 2nd half that was. Brilliant stuff. Well done Louth.

Nothing surprising about that loss, I won €50, Dublin once again fold when pressure is put on them

Former AFL player. Fair play to Louth. The Dubs a shambles. Dessie Dolan said Cluxton should come back on radio, and he serious.

I do chuckle about the comments that age poorly here.

Never seen a side substitute so many backs on one day. Dublin really struggled defensively with the two well-taken goals but poor lapses for the other two

Well done Louth, a first win v Dublin since 1973 and lost to Dublin by 10 points a few weeks ago. Even today 6 points behind at half time a great 2nd half by them scoring 3-12.

A free taker from around the 45 distance. Can’t be having Costello wasting them all.

I’m 42 this is the worst dublin team I’ll ever seen . , team in 98-01 was bad these are septic

    Nice 2 pointer from Kobe

Welcome to the norm for most of the rest of us suffering supporters around the country.

Difference is Dublin will come back. It might take a couple of years but you have too many resources and structures for it to be a long term thing. What is staggering is the scale of the fall off.

In my opinion (which some would definitely not agree with) they are relying on players with All Irelands who were fringe/average players on a team surrounded by generational players at the time. And then they’ve 2 great players left that have declined or been injured.

Monaghan only ever seem to go full throttle in games they're massive underdogs in. Absolutely pedestrian showing so far, Mayo not much better.

    great 2 pointers from Mayo

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,355 ✭✭✭HBC08

Mayo kicked 5 two pointers in that half.

They scored 3 two pointers in the whole of last years championship.

Edit was actually 6 two pointers in the 1st half

That Monaghan shot looked well over

Two good goal chances for Monaghan, get nothing out of it.

Mayo are hugely open at the back. A better side would have buried 3 goals already this half. Monaghan have no conviction when they get into dangerous positions

How many goal chances do Monaghan need

Certain footballers are so smooth, silky and natural. I preferred watching Matt Connor, Maurice Fitz, Diarmuid Connolly, Mattie Forde and now Kobe to other greats.

David Clifford is probably the goat. He has everything. But I prefer watching those I mentioned. Peter Canavan was another great who was all shimys, dummys, jerky movements who wasn't in my all time favourites to watch.

Mayo defence is almost as bad as the Monaghan attack
