For the people that bought 007, how has it been so far?

Also has anyone purchased the new GAA game?

007 is just pure gaming awesomeness, ton of fun and I'm not even a huge Bond fan so imagine it's even better if you are.

I've heard the GAA game is absolutely rough out.

Yeah just did next main mission last night that had Lenny Kravitz in it. Like the chess mission so many ways to complete the objective. The simulation missions are good too

Re the GAA game, I've seen clips and the graphics are ps2 quality. Maybe the gameplay is better? It's €35 though, so not something I'm just going to chance on...

As a Bond fan, it’s brilliant. Nails the tone and the performances are stellar. Was not really on my radar but I’m having a blast!

I would have loved a hurling one, but I appreciate it's probably really hard to make a hurling game. Not that football is easy, but I assume it's easier. Unfortunately no interest in the football, so not for me.

Hope it does well, but any sport game that tries to look realistic will be compared to the big ones, and you'll never be able to compete with the EA/2K money, so will be negatively judged from the get go. It does look dated though. I think they should have gone with a more stylised approach, like Rematch, would be easier to accept the lower quality realism then.

Right now, I'm torn between picking up 007 (no Lego Batman in my local smyths), Pragmata, or buying LoK Definace remastered on sale for €18 on store, and RCT3 Complete for €13.50, because the modern roller coaster games are microtransaction filled soulless shells of what RCT3 is. I'm edging towards LoK and RCT as they don't require me leaving the house...

Just finished that last night, all the different almost mini games in it were excellent, it doesn't skip a beat and bond never gets annoying with his quips. Gibson has nailed the role.

Lenny stuck out with his accent though 😂

Folks it’d be worth starting a 007 thread rather than focusing all the discussion here :) Seems to be enough interest to justify a standalone!

Played 2 hours of 007 First Light last night. Really enjoying it, way better than i expected after the original reveal and dodgy framerate State of Play showing.

Beat Nine Sols, got better and better gameplay wise even if the story didnt do it for me.

Also started Minishoot Adventures as my Portal game. Loving it so far.

Mina The Hollower will have to wait.

Sounds like the 007 game is a good shout. Might buy it for the long weekend to give me something to play.

I was watching people playing the GAA game last night.. and it just looks clunky and nearly unplayable in ways that you couldn't even take penalties or anything of the kind. I'm hoping they get it sorted soon to which it can be played. For the sake of €35 it's not the end of the world but a lot better games out their for value for money.

Had a quick bash of Mina the Hollower this morning, which was enough to make me annoyed I didn’t have more time to play Mina the Hollower this morning.

This is amazing. A dev on NBA Jam in the 90's was a Pistons fan and at the time, there was a big rivalry between the Bulls and the Pistons so he added code that is the 2 teams were playing each other, he made it so it was impossible to score last second shots if you were playing as the bulls 😂

Not specifically game related, but my niece gave me her login for Prime as I cancelled it a while back because they introduced ads. Anyway, opportunity to watch Twisted Metal. Added it to the list, went to play, not a single episode available here. Why show me something I can't watch? I get licensing, but take it off if its not bloody available! Same with Blue Mountain State and probably more. No wonder piracy is rife again.

I found prime very annoying. Oh look, I'll watch this.. i have to rent it?? What about this??? Same, 3 things in a row i went to watch i had to rent instead so i just closed the app.

Same is happening me with hbo max. Super annoying.

Not sure what version of the app you’re using but on iPad or Apple TV it says Included with Prime or has an Available to Buy or Rent icon, you can’t miss them tbf. I actually like it considering I’m paying for the free delivery anyway. 🙂

It's a load of shyte to mix in the rentals and included and not available. You pay a monthly fee for ad free streaming, and instead you get a bukake of everything all mixed together. It's a horrible experience imo. Deliberately done to make their catalogue look bigger.

Seeing as I didn't watch any Prime as a result, I got Legacy of Kain Defiance Remastered. More of the same, visual upgrade with some modern control options. They changed the look of some things and I'm not sold on them. But, it's more LoK and by God I love these games. I'd love more, but you can't have Raziel and Kain without Bell and Templeman. And it will be hard to replace Tony Jay, his voice being so distinct.

Oh it's not that I'm not sure what i can or can't watch, is more that i paid for a streaming service and the 3 things i wanted to watch needed to be paid for which just grinded my gears. Then there's the **** amazon Ireland service where i bought Hitman WOA last month and i compared my account (no prime at the time) to my wife's account with prime and i could get the game a week sooner by paying for delivery or a few days later than her if i chose free. She had no choice, single free delivery option. That's absolute bollox, that a non prime user can get a delivery faster than someone with Prime.

I recently switched to Eir broadband that gave me free prime but there's no way I'd pay for it.

Two of the main 'dungeons' down in Mina the Hollower so have a good sense of the gameplay flow now. And let me just say: this game is absolutely fantastic. It's been a while since I've played a game that feels so dense - like every screen feels like it has an idea or a secret hidden in it. There are so many cool interactions and discoveries, from really delightful side quests you'll casually discover in the main town to surprise bosses and unexpected gags. I actually laughed out loud when one Final Fantasy homage revealed itself, while I also had a gleefully morbid encounter with a talking leaf.

It's endlessly throwing stuff at you, and crucially the frequent upgrades and new items feel substantial and meaningful pretty much every time. Even when I go to spend the in-game currency (bones, which leads to the hilarious level up screen 'bone up') it feels like there's always a dozen good options for me to go with.

Gameplay wise it's Zelda, Bloodborne, Castlevania, Hollow Knight and a whole bunch of other influences, but always with a distinct flavour of its own thanks to the sheer richness of the world and the clever central mechanics. The main burrowing tool is a little bit of everything - navigation tool, platforming aid, puzzle mechanics and combat dodge all rolled into one.

Somehow 8 hours in already, and looking forward to many more hours. The reviews weren't lying - this is something special.

Started Fable Anniversary last night. Looks decent for an XB360 game I feel obviously not up to a modern game standard but still it looks well. One thing I don't like is hold a button to run. It hurt my hand doing that. I prefer the modern style of left click thumb once and it's engaged until you stop.

Some State of Play leaks just dropped before it starts in 20 mins.

Tomb Raider remake - Feb 2027

    Final Fantasy Remake part 3

    Days Gone 2

    Bloodborne 2

Ace Combat 8 cancelled due to lack of interest

Geez, people's wallets will be empty with all the games coming out in September

It’s going to be a bloodbath. Far too many games vying for limited amounts of attention and money - some good games surely going to get lost in the mix.

But everything obviously just getting the hell away from GTA.

I'll definitely be preordering Ace Combat 8 and suggest people interested with it should. It looks like it's coming with an ace combat 0 remake which is supposedly the best ace combat game. The ace combat 5 remake that came with 7 was excellent.

Namco have a habit of having excellent remakes as pre order bonuses with no way to purchase them afterwards.

If a bigger publisher pulled that nonsense they would rightly be excoriated. Really not a fan of anything being locked behind preorders.
