The US has threatened to bomb Oman if it cooperates with Iran. The US and Israel are two war-mongering states that need to dominate and control other countries. Not a day goes by without one of them bombing or attacking another country.

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/trump-threatens-to-blow-up-oman-if-it-sides-with-iran-over-strait-of-hormuz/ar-AA24ddLY

WASHINGTON — President Trump threatened to attack Oman Wednesday if the Arab nation partners with Iran to assert joint control over the Strait of Hormuz.

    https://edition.cnn.com/2026/05/27/politics/oman-trump-threat-attack-countries

    https://www.firstpost.com/explainers/why-trump-threatened-to-blow-up-oman-strait-of-hormuz-us-iran-conflict-14016155.html

US President Donald Trump threatened Oman over reported talks with Iran on jointly managing the Strait of Hormuz. ‘Nobody’s going to control (the strait),’ Trump said. ‘It’s international waters, and Oman will behave just like everybody else, or we’ll have to blow them up. They understand that, they’ll be fine’

That one just Trump's mouth running away withn him I reckon. As likely to actually happen as an invasion of Canada IMO…

He's attacked 7 countries so far (Iran, Iraq, Nigeria, Somalia, Syria, Venezuela and Yemen) and threatened a further 7 (Canada, Colombia, Cuba, Greenland, Mexico, Panama and Oman)

So it's basically a coin toss! I can see Cuba being next to deflect from Iran (he needs a win) because the Iran distraction from his Epstein files has been a disaster.

An unmitigated disaster. Stupid stupid stupid people in charge. You'd have to think there are some smart people left in the US administration, intelligence community or military that are absolutely horrified by the damage Trump has done to the USA due to his ego and subservience to a war criminal in Israel. They must be close to open revolt at this point.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth house?

I'd say there's plenty pulling their hair out. Write a report that says one thing then the Trump lackey in charge dismisses or ignores it and just tells Trump what he wants to hear.

You would have to imagine there's quite a lot of quiet dissent. It's easy changing the person in charge to a loyal MAGA nutter, but those under them, not so much.

There really needs to be some changes to how US politics works henceforth. A Leader of the Opposition for instance to act as the focal point of correction for the likes of Trump's obvious & endless lies, and the ability to call for a no confidence vote in a current President or Administration, sanctioned by a truly independent DOJ of course. No political party should be able to stack the courts in their favour as has happened.

In any other government in the western world that fat lump of malicious shite would have been ejected a long time ago. In fact he wouldn't have even got a look in in the first place. But under the US system something like him can have a four year term to do as much damage and be as corrupt as they possibly can. And he's currently damaging the US and much of the world at present. Damage which may not make its full presence known for some time. Maybe even when that dickhead is finally out of office and is truly unaccountable.

One thing the rest of the world has learned, though, is that it is foolish to place blind trust in the US. It is a deeply corrupt nation and has the ability to cause untold impairment to the world with its irresponsible behaviour. We would all do well to put a certain amount of distance between us and them for the foreseeable future.

I suppose Greenland was the same? It is a very clear warning to Oman that the US could take control of Oman militarily and resources wise. Just like they want Venezuela and Cuba. The US is like a mad bull and, like Russia and Israel, they are moving closer to using some very big bombs on countries they cannot control. What would actually happen if the US dropped a nuclear bomb on Tehran? Would any western country impose sanctions on the US or would it be understanding and an appeal for calm?

The corruption is at the the core of the problem imo...you can basically buy your politicians and the outcomes you want over there.... and in fairness that has been happening for decades....Democrats and Republicans

Thats where the rot sets in and its 50+ years in the making and all countries would want to put safeguards in place to stop that...in the US big pharma funds campaigns, tech companies fund campaigns, oil companies fund capaigns, , the Israelis and their lobbyists fund campaigns

That explains a whole lot as far as I'm concerned.....the politicians may be elected by the peoples votes but the votes that count much much more are much much less in number and belong to the donors....it is 100% compromised and corrupt to the core...its a form of democracy that has been corrupted into something like an oligarchy by allowing bribes to dictate decision making

In recent times Trump ...the moron ...is on record saying as much about decisions he has made....

So yes changes do need to be made but it's a runaway train, it will have to get much worse before there is some sort of overhaul...

Hopefully it won't take something catastrophic (economically/socially for the majority of its citizens) before something pulls the situation back from the brink...

They would probably sanction Iran for getting nuked than criticize Daddy .

For the 22nd time in two months Barak Ravid for Axios is reporting on a new breakthrough in talks. Sounds like Trump needs a bit more time to consider it and will announce something crazy on social media 38 seconds after the markets close on Friday.

I am beginning to think that President Trump is afraid to make an agreement with Iran because the Democrats will micro-analyse it during the Mid-Terms.

According to the Vice President it sounds like yesterdays reports were a bit optimistic and he is unsure if or when Trump signs the document, that's if it actually exists at all.

Since the start of April Iran have been consistent with their position that the nuclear part will not be discussed until the first part is agreed, this means ceasefire across all regions including Lebanon, frozen assets, Hormuz strait and sanction relief.

Once that is agreed, they then have 60 days to agree the nuclear part which will all be needed to put into a treaty where every word will be scrutinized. Given the JCPOA alone took hundreds of real diplomats and nuclear experts two years to agree it looks impossible this will get wrapped up in 2 months, which always looked a bit ambitious.

Now Israel are asking another 20km of southern Lebanon to be evacuated so that looks imossible alone to be resolved.

More likely to announce the signing of it minutes before the markets close, let it fall, buy, then hit Tehran at 2.30 in the morning for a huge gap up on sunday. Hitting them during negotiations again. Standard procedure at this stage. After all, what were those targeted 'defensive strikes' early this week on new anti-aircraft batteries if not to clear the way for a new Israeli-US attack, before the US goes home leaving Iran undefended and 'manageable' for Israel for the foreseeable.

More evidence the US/Israeli regimes are negotiating in good faith, both are nothing more than terrorist states.

Which just shows how absurd the level of power the USA has.

The details of domestic politics of any country should never determine what level of violence is delivered on the other side of the globe.

Trumps posts his latest thoughts on how things are according to him.

No comment yet from the Iranian side.

So the US have ensured no regime change and achieved nothing despite extraordinary pain and cost. It looks like a deal worse than Obama's deal which Trump abandoned. Silly man.

The US and Israel are now pariah states. They don't even trust each other.

It does look quite an expensive mistake if what the New York times says is true. Trump’s Iran Deal to include $300 BILLION reconstruction fund for Iran, other diplomats label it as an investment fund.

I thought he was going to invade Cuba as a distraction (from the original distraction).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,468 ✭✭✭Tazz T

Hey, he's in the situation room making the final decision while his son handles his oil contracts. Cuba comes next week.

Final flush up now, before the flush down at 9.15 and a massive jump at two minutes to 9.30.

He's Donald Trump. He's going to make another epic mistake.

Maybe the US will attack Israel to confuse anyone not already confused by their foreign policies!
