Even though it’s not a bad album, happy there was only one song from the last one again.

Two incredible hot nights in Frankfurt Stadium, Metallica were pure class on both nights. Gojira and Pantera were excellent support. Avatar & Knocked Loose were decent. Where we were in the Stadium the sound was excellent but some people back in the hotel were complaining of sound dropouts on the first night but it was rectified on the second.

We went down to the pop up store on both Saturday & Sunday but the queue was well over two hours and moving very slowly.

Should I ask how much the t shirt was or just close my eyes and hand over my card?

€45, great selection. Not the clearest picture.

ah keep an eye out over the next couple of weeks, they ll probably be some panic sellers around, the full weekend tickets are probably throwing many, dublin isnt a cheap place, for a whole weekend

Would daylight kill some of the magic of the production ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,846 ✭✭✭COH

Almost certainly. But its still going to be incredible

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,138 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

Yeah was thinking that, just whenever I check I don't see any. Only looking for Sunday ticket also so limits it a bit.

It should have no affect at all, the stadium in Frankfurt uses a retractable roof like a canopy which certainly helped but the atmosphere was electric anyway and it helped to cool the place down as it was over 30 degrees in there.

I think it will ultimately affect production as it won’t be dark until well into the second half of the show. Second show is the longest day of the year after all.

Rammstein in the RDS was excellent but the whole show was in daylight and felt it took away a bit

We'll just have to get on with it and welcome Metallica with open arms 🤘

Saw a video from Pantera. Everyone just staying watching, serious amount on the phone. How this isn't the case for Dublin gig but assume it will be. The design of the stage means no leaping about if you feel like it I would say

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,700 ✭✭✭Zardoz

Yes and the curfew in Dublin is earlier too.

They came on stage in Frankfurt at 8.50, sunset was 9.16.

Dublin they will likely come on at 8.30 and sunset will be 9.56.

Well all. Nearly there. Can't wait. I'm usually just a lurker here but did seek advice a few mth ago on potentially swapping 4x standing for 4x seats for Friday night show. Tickets are single night only. Any idea on how I do this?. From what I've heard it's sell my standing and hope to buy decent seats. Seems a bit mad and risky to me. Surely there's a swapping or trade in mechanism? Or do I post on adverts etc.? Cheers

Inside the stadium will be in shade long before the sun sets. Even better if it's an overcast day (which it probably will be!).

Do the support bands utilise the whole staging or just stick to one side etc

The only time i saw Metallica in the round was Glasgow 2017 and it was great. Brilliant feeling when James finally arrives to 'you're side'

The stage for Slane was awesome too

Whole stage yeah. Pantera and Gojira have 2 drumkits on opposite sides too.

I loved the 'Hardwired' stage set up. Went to Cologne and Manchester for those gigs. Unreal.

The Aviva needs a good rocking after that borefest tonight

I have 2 Metallica tickets, SEC BLK318, Row A, Seat 27 and 28 to the Aviva . We can only go on the Friday night but I don't seem to be able to resell the Sunday tickets. What are my options?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 108 ✭✭iMac Hunt

Not long now, just wondering if anyone has any idea when ticket transfer might open up? Also does anyone know for those who bought two night tickets, will it be separate tickets for each night or is it just one ticket for both nights, one of my friends with a two night ticket now can't make the second night and is wondering if he might be able to resell just the one night ticket on Ticketmaster?

Was thinking of checking out the pop up store on the Thursday, hopefully there won't be any made queues! Would love to pick up one of these jerseys, I wonder though will it be like the Oasis pop up and all the good stuff will be gone straight away?

you can’t split the 2 day tickets and sell one of the days.
the only option is let a friend who wants to go Sunday to have access to your TM account to get in
