One of my lovely, lovely cats, who has a dreadful BRF and looks like a shadow but who is in fact one of the most grateful, loving, affectionate puddings you can hope to meet, is currently kneading right beside me, purring like an old diesel engine. She loves to give me kitty kisses, but if my face is too far away from hers, she reaches up with a paw and beckons me down to her level. If I'm still too far, she pats my face with her paw. Anyone would melt. 🥰

When I checked yesterday the weather forecast for my area showed lots rain showers on and off for this evening…checked again now and forecasted to be clear and no rain which is grand as I fancy my ultra long walk to the far shop later….low on drinks and I fancy some exercise and getting lost with some tunes on my headphones…

My first car was a 2002 piece of junk but I used to gain experience. It later spectacularly failed NCT and was sold to a mechanic for 100 euro for parts.

I drove my newer 2018 Renault and as I was reversing today it slammed to a halt. I was convinced I backed into someone. Oh wow, I’m going to get roared at and have to pay for their bumper, sob

The lady was lovely and said her camera stopped her car and also my camera must have stopped my car. I didn’t even know cars could do this ?!! She said no marks so we never hit.

Th’d at modern technology, saved my ass, phew 😮‍💨

I mentioned in another thread that I was in Dublin for a couple of nights. My trivial happyning is the different food I tried, especially one place that I've been meaning to go to for years, The Mongolian Barbecue. You pick the different elements to your meal (vegetables, noodles, herbs & spices, and sauces) and give them to the chef who bungs them on their cast iron grill.

Very reasonably priced too, at €13.90 for the lunch bowl. (Sorry if this sounds like an ad. 😄 ) I tried Thai, Korean and a more traditional place too.

I haven't eaten there but it comes highly recommended from a few people I know 👍

Have a small wild hedge at the front and the amount and kinds of birds around at the moment is just wonderful. Just saw a male Bullfinch right now. What a beautiful bird.

It used to be a fiver, got me through college....

Suns beaming, I'm in the cobblestone drinking a fiver pint, and Americans are losing their mind seeing a proper seisún for the first time and a Lazarus soul are doing a free concert on Smithfield square at 3.

    Not the worst Saturday.

Things you hear that make you stop and think.
It wasn’t the recent Women’s Champions League Final.
But when I was watching that and made me think of the intro of a game between two English women’s soccer clubs. “XYZ team have absentees due to injuries and pregnancies”.

That was a new way of putting it I said to myself wouldn’t get that in the men’s game.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Programme on last night about famous male and female, sex symbols. Some started to discuss the pressure of having to maintain their looks, and others the lack of privacy they have in day to day life. Intrusion from the public and the press etc etc

I thought “I’m lucky I am not a famous sex symbol… then realised and thought you fecking eejit!”.

My boss/manager just got offered a lovely farewell redundancy. Cool!

I don't want the head-wrecking part of his job, dealing with management. (I solve problems, I don't seem to solve them).

Anyway, he asked me earlier if I'd do a certain part of his job…except I probably wouldn't have to deal with senior management. 😎

    It's not 100% but it's okay…

I bought a standing fan and it arrived today and it's deadly. It cools the place right down. How did I ever do without this?

Can't believe I've managed without. Got it really for my French Bulldog who is panting in this weather. She's loving it too. Definitely getting another for the bedroom.

My GSD love my tesco brand fan once he figured out its where the cold came from, for anyone buying more, hang tight till autum/winter and you can usually get them cheaper then. Imo there is no such thing as too many fans in a house that ppl live in!

TH I planted two pots in the garden with a mix of 'butterfly friendly' flowers on Sunday - they are already coming up!

A cheque, which I mislaid, has turned up. So few people use them now and it's such a nuisance to physically visit the bank to deposit same. Still, happy not to have to request the person to write me a new one.

6 years ago I saw a British band and they were rocking !
I listened to all their albums however I never saw them again as the band took a break. When this happens you never know if they will get back together. It seemed genuine though as the lead singer had a baby so needed some years off

TH’d I learned they are back !! Am listening to their new album and checking tour dates

For some reason, I like to highlight text at random. Itchy mouse hand, perhaps. Anyway, I did it on PinkNews and:

Was debating whether to fill up my car before undertaking a 30mins each way Sunday scenic car ride. When setting out my fudl indicator suggested there was 100 miles to a refill. I arrived home and the monitor said 105 miles!

Menu and reviews make it sound very appetising.

Saw a woman speaking to her dog in Irish, she was listening to a course on her phone and repeated it to the schnauzer while they walked, to avoid being unfairly critical of her performance at home. Th that I'm musing what kind of Irish accent the dog will have when he learns to bark as gaeilge.
