15 x Jinko Solar Co., Ltd. 460 Watt Panels (Jinko 460w or equivalent (JKM460N-48HL4M-DB))

    1 x Sigen 5kW SP2 Hybrid Inverter (Sigen Hybrid 5.0 SP2) (Sigenergy)

    1 x Sigen 9kWh Battery (SIG-STOR-BAT 10.0) (Sigenergy)

    3 x Tigo Optimiser Single (TS4-A-O), 1 x BER Assessment,

€16,144 after grant- however 12 of those panels will be on a south facing steel veranda/pergola that is included in the price, the other 3 panels will be on the south facing roof. (2 of the roof panels on the west side of our dormer facing south and the other panel on the east side of the dormer facing south).

We had priced a veranda with a glass roof that we wanted to get installed and that came in at €15k approx so I think this way we are getting two birds with one stone.

I believe the AIO (All in One) includes a battery

    Between 5 and 82kwh.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,582 ✭✭✭witnessmenow

I'm not sure, but I think it's just that they are modules like sig energy that can be stacked together, not necessarily that you are definitely getting a battery with it.

Aio konnect gear is specific to one installer, when they quoted me battery were extra (and expensive)

Interesting to see the Solis batteries beingoffered already. When are you getting your installation as some were saying will be another month or two till they're available here

Wonder whether to change from my original Dyness 10kWh to these which should lair nicely with the Solis S6 inverter and have everything in one app.

10kWh available from early June, 16kWh available from July. The difference in cost between a Dyness 10 and Solis 10 was 200.

My installer kindly agreed to install the main system in early June then add the 16kWh battery in July. I had originally picked the 10kWh but it was such good value to go bigger that we changed.

Hi Kenn0, I think it is competitive/ market price I was quoted €10880 for the same system plus one panel. I ended up signing up for the Neo above as it has the back up power facility and an extra 3kw battery albeit for €12880 though. If you check up the Irish solar owners group on facebook I think you have good value once the installer is reputable.

    Hi all,

    A recent quote:

    14 x TW SOLAR 460 Watt Panels (TWMNH-48HE460)
    1 x GW5K-EHA-G20 (GoodWe)
    1 x GW8.3-BAT-D-G20 (GoodWe)
    1 x BER Certificate, 1 x 5 Year Workmanship Warranty

    Total System Price €11,400.00
    SEAI Grant €1,800.00
    Net System Cost €9,600.00

I haven't heard much about the Goodwe ESA system, I believe it's fairly new .

Any thoughts on Goodwe and on the quote received?

    Thanks

Hi, I'm wondering if you went ahead with the Goodwe system as I'm considering it at the moment. Thanks

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19 gnr1983

I would appreciate thoughts on the attached quote for Goodwe ESA system including 8.3kw battery and including BER. It would cost an additional €500 for changeover switch.

    Thanks

Shouldn't really post new threads for questions (when there is an existing thread for quotes)

74 leapton bifacial all black panels.

    3 no. S6 Hybrid inverters

17 total AC and DC isolators

    5 din rail meters

    4 fireman switches

    cable, solar mounting rails

    Making the mounting frames myself

Just to buy cable back to house

Total €12100 have another old 5kW inverter there to go with it

    12 x Eurener 475 Watt Panels (MEPV 475 [Nexa])

    1 x S6-EH1P5K-L-EU (SOLIS)

    1 x Powerbox G2 (Dyness) - 10.24 (kW)

Its for my parents who are both retired. They have an EV but it wouldn't get massive mileage. Gas heating. I'm struggling to see the justification for the battery even though it is only €2.5k more (€6.6k without the battery).

I would highly recommend getting them the battery, it gives you much more flexibility about what you do with the power the system produces. If your parents tend to use 10 kWh or less a day (excluding car charging which can be done on EV rate from the grid) you could easily charge the battery on a cheap night rate (or EV rate) for less than €1.00 and run the house for the day on that battery and sell most of the solar to easily bring them into €0 bills territory.

If they live rural and ever suffer from power cuts it might also be worth considering a Manual Changeover Switch which means the solar will still work if the grid ever goes down to power house and charge battery (Rough extra cost is about €1000 to add this).

Without this the solar system will no longer work if there is an outage.

I think it’s hard to see the justification for solar with out at least 10kw battery

Has anyone experience of complaining to SEAI about a contractor who has not finished the work?
Note To Mods if there is a problem posting this here, please advise options

Not personally, but I have heard you are wasting your time complaining to the SEAI.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 99 ✭✭Karlos77

I got a reasonable quote 6k then I said my budget was 5.5k

and the solar company lowered quite to 5.6k.

With demand so high why would they agree to lower quote?

Big profit margin. The equipment has never been cheaper.

Hi all, i got quoted for, the following system - i actually paid the deposit with them, so have to go with them, Its a North Monaghan company - not the one that avertises like hell on TV:

    • 9.2 kWp system
    • 20 panel - JA Solar 460w N type - 30 year warranty (2 free)
    • 5kw Solis Hybrid Inverter
    • 10.24kw Dyness Powerbox
    • New BER required for Grant
    • All electrical work includes the following:
      • Projoy Shunt Switch
      • AC and DC Cabling and Isolators
      • RCBO Switch
      • Full Label Kit to identify all components
      • Testing and Commissioning
      • Renusol Mounting Brackets and Rails
      • PV Check Meter
      • Cloud Monitoring App

Cost after grant - 9500 euros.

    Its a local company.

Ive an A2 rated large house. Just competed 2020. south facing back roof, south - east side roof.

electrical bill approx 2100 euro a year, energy usage 7500 kws a year average.

    Hi,

    Got the following quote yesterday:

Jinko Solar Panel 460w x 12 (5.5kWp) with supply and fit of roof mount - €5999.99
    SigEnergy 9kWh battery - €3500
    SigEnergy 5kw Inverter - €3500

    Subtotal - €12999
    Discount - €1000
    Total - €11999.

New build so don't qualify for the grant. Was surprised at the price for the inverter being the same as the battery itself, is this reasonable? The inverted model seems to sell for €900 (inc VAT) so am I really paying €2600 for install?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,145 ✭✭✭bren2001

See my quote above, €10,800 with no grant and a larger battery.

Did the numbers with my parents over the weekend, ROI was roughly similar with/without battery. Longer term, battery makes sense. Found Gary Does Solar quite good but I was able to make my own informed assumptions based on their usage patterns.

I'd probably disagree with you on that.
