I had the same issue before and had to remove the shifter to shake the piece of loose cable out. A pair of fine tweezers could reach it, but not grip it well enough to pull it free.

Brand new bike and having an issue with disk brake rubbing. I reset/centred the caliper by undoing the 5mm bolts that attach the caliper to the fork, then screwed them back in while holding the gear lever down.

The rubbing was worse before I did this. Now, when holding the front wheel up it no longer rubs (it did before the adjustment?. But annoyingly, it rubs when I am on the bike cycling it. Not just on corners, it seems to rub once every revolution.

Any ideas how to resolve without having to go back to the shop. Its Halfords and my spirit is almost broken dealing with them. I dont think I can face them again.

If it's once every rotation, that sounds like a warped disc. Have a look at YouTube, loads of videos on it. GCN just did one, I think

I used this GCN video, not a recent one though (and not specifically related to a warped one). It's a new bike, I'd have my doubts about it being warped. I might try pulling back the pistons.

My money is on the wheel not being tightened properly.

As in not sitting into the frame properly?

The bloody back brake is rubbing too, more consistently than the front one. Honestly, Halfords are a right shower....I left it with them for a week having pointed out issues with it and this is what came back. Never again.

Presuming it is a thru axle, just not tightened to spec. I had the same issue, and only realised when I went to take it out it wasn't fully tightened. It even felt fine when I shook it, only noticed when I went to take it off that the thru axle was loose. It spun fine off the ground with no rubbing but rubbed in one spot when riding, just needed to be tightened up. If it is a smidgen loose, realign the brakes after. It could be a warped/bent disc, you can straighten with pliers but if you are confident it came like that, just go in and ask them for new ones, volunteer to swap them over yourself.

Where to start with a shimano 105 hydraulic brake that needs bleeding every few weeks?

Can't see any fluid weeping anywhere. Rear brake, aliexpress hose, correct banjo and inserts. Driving me scatty!

I'll order one and see if it makes a difference. Front brake also using same hose from same roll but no issues at all.

could it be leaking out onto the pad area and slowly dissipating onto the discs? Did you check the diaphragms if that's what they are called…

    Hi,

I've got a 2010 Campag single pivot rear caliper that's been in a parts bin for a few years.

I'm trying to get it working again and it seems OK apart from where the spring circled in red is not secured like it is on the other side (purple).

The purple one is in a little plastic groove. I think i should have one of those plastic yokes on the other side too. But amn't sure. It doesn't look secure.

    Anyone familiar with this?

I think I'm either missing a bit or have put it together wrong.

    Thanks.
