I'm not obsessed with the number, I said the number and you're questioning me about it. Hence it's still being discussed.

Not controversial at all but re-reg trolls are such a pain in the arse.

Adults looking for an ADHD diagnosis is the new adults looking for an Autism diagnosis.

Burnout from work is not wanting to work for a living or feeling some sort of trauma for having to work, no matter what the job is, or it's actual depression combined with a personality disorder, but burnout sounds better.

But you've consistently touted 'evidence' and 'facts' - now it's opinion?

Yes there's evidence to support what I'm saying. But evidence in areas like this is never 100% conclusive. We're talking about what happens in people's internal experience.

That doesn't even begin to explain your claim that this is the case:

Humanity could have gone extinct if women found average men attractive.

Are you familiar with natural selection and sexual selection with respect to the evolutionary process?

What do you think would happen to the human species if women only selected the genetically weakest men to repeoduce with?

It is in the best interest of the human species that women are very selective with whom they choose to reproduce. It maintains the genetic quality of the speicies.

One of the biggest mistakes I see Irish people making is thinking that being nice and polite is the same thing as being good.

Could any conceit be more wrong?

    You're shifting the goalposts again.

You've gone from "found average men attractive" to "only selected the genetically weakest men"

Wasted enough time on this crap.

I'm not shifting any goalposts. I asked you to imagine a scenario whereby women only selected the weakest men.

When you can understand what would happen in that scenario as an extreme, it becomes quite clear why evolution favours women that are only attracted to only the best men.

Yer man who stabbed two jewish people in London this week. The fact that I've heard all week that it was an unequivocal antisemitic attack. But when he was charged it turns out he also stabbed another muslim person earlier in the day.

It makes it look like a conspiracy to make it seem like an antisemitic attack, when it actually looks like he was a fookin headcase who flipped out and stabbed 3 people.

Why wasnt the story that he stabbed 3 people from the start? Why was the story framed that he stabbed 2 Jews?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,636 ✭✭✭Cordell

Why was the story framed that he stabbed 2 Jews?

Because he stabbed those 2 jews simply because they were jews. Then he stabbed a muslim for various other reasons (maybe because he was the wrong kind of muslim), in a separate incident. Being a fooking headcase doesn't exclude being an antisemite.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,070 ✭✭✭✭El_Duderino 09

OK so why was the story all week that he stabbed 2 Jews when he actually stabbed 3 people?

I found out he stabbed 3 people today. When did you find out he stabbed 3 people, not 2 people?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,636 ✭✭✭Cordell

What's your point? Are you seriously claiming that he stabbed 3 random people and it's only a coincidence that 2/3 were jews?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 41,950 ✭✭✭✭Hotblack Desiato

He targeted 2 people because they were Jewish ffs. What other crazy stuff he was up to does not take away from that.

It wasn't a point. It was 2 questions which you didn't answer. Would you try answering them?

To answer your second question, it's not really my job to figure out whether it was an antisemitic attack or not. But it is the police and the media's job to tell me the facts, but they only told me about 2 out of the 3 people he stabbed. Ignoring the non-jew. Surely you can agree that is an unusual fact to just not even talk about. Ignoring a third stabbing, in a stabbing story as if it's not important

I think the fact that it was sold as simply an antisemite stabbed 2 Jews is harder to make when he also stabbed another muslim bloke the same day. That's sounds like a bloke went mental and stabbed 3 people. But, in the meantime we have the whole government and media jumping on the bandwagon that "this was an attack on all Jews" and we need to ban peaceful protests.

Even if it is an antisemitic attack, why didn't the median and police even bother to mention that he also stabbed another bloke earlier that day? And when did you find out about the third victim?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,070 ✭✭✭✭El_Duderino 09

How do you know that with such certainty?

Why did he target the Muslim guy he stabbed earlier in the day?

The past few days have been a hideous revelation of how many people will desperately defend anti-Semitism.

I haven't seen much of that. Where have you seen it?

I've seen heavy media coverage of the stabbing of 2 jews, and almost ignoring the third stabbing. Isn't it fair to ask why on earth the police and media have no interest in discussing the third stabbing? Is the third stabbing not relevant or what's the story?

I think we should demonstrate something is antisemitic before we declare it antisemitic.

This is only a hunch. I do wonder, and have done since the 1990s, if bugs are deliberately put into software by their manufacturers, in order to pressure us to get their latest version of the software to fix them.

This case - hiding the 3rd stabbing – clearly exposed all of the UK media editors as deliberate liars (who knew?)

Them telling the truth - “ 3 stabbed in London by man with a long history of mental health issues” would be a lost opportunity to provide some minuscule cover for the ongoing US & UK colonial genocide in Palestine, Lebanon etc.

Here is another example (of countless) of how the media hype (/ lie about) anti-semitism as a cynical political tool - from journalist Jonathan Cook:

Jeremy Corbyn was an MP for 32 years until he was elected Labour leader in 2015.
Number of accusations in the media of antisemitism from 1983-2015 = 0
Number of accusations in the media of antisemitism from 2015-2019 = 11,251

In fairness, virtually nobody knew who he was until he was nominated in 2015. Once elected leader, he turned the party into a racist sh*tshow. Since then, he's gone on to found Your Party on a single issue, genocide in Gaza. As is tradition, he and the other MPs in the party have turned on each other in a rather pathetic psychodrama.

The media here is notoriously corrupt but him relentlessly feeding it ammunition didn't help.

I worked in the industry for more than 20 years, various fields from gaming to business to business to open source, and I never encountered this. It will be hard to do it and keep it hidden, and it will expose the company to legal action that will probably cost more than the revenue it generates. Not saying it doesn't happen, it can happen as something that Apple did under the guise of protecting aging devices, but it's very unlikely.

But there were suspected or even documented cases of vulnerabilities introduced intentionally, like this one: https://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2024-3094

Sky are right to go after people with dodgy boxes. It is wrong to use a dodgy box, if you dont want to pay for Sky, just watch youtube or RTE instead.
