My Philips 43PUS7906 from 2022 is starting to test me (HDR might as well be in the dark so gave up on 4K, untold issues using HDMI Arc for passthrough, got a new Denon soundbar and all)

Moved into an apartment and from what I can see around 55 Inch seems to be the best size?

Not sure on budget, have seen TCL recommended here and a few hundred in difference of models etc, not a brand snob, especially if cheaper but the same spec

    • 55 inch or so
    • Play 4K, no issues, not HDR like in the dark
    • We have an Android TV box, so not need “smart tv”, though I’m guessing most are
    • Never really used Philips Ambilight, so don’t really need that, especially If can save a few euros there
    • HDMI earc/arc port without issues, im guessing most tvs have this

I hope this is not like how long is a piece of string, but seen as the last one is still going after 4 years, I want to make sure I get a good one

    Thanks

    Hi Jeffk.

    Thanks for the post.

The TCL TV's are excellent to be honest.

If you go for the C6 or C7 then you get a QD Mini LED panel and all for not a lot of money.

55C6 coming in at €598 delivered. (2 year warranty)

Moving up to the 55C7 it is the more premium option, offering a brighter display with more local dimming zones for better contrast, a slightly more robust sound system, and an anti-reflective coating.
Priced at €848 delivered. (Comes with our VIP 6 year guarantee free of charge).

    Let me know your thoughts.

I have a good soundbar so crap audio from TV speakers thankfully isn't an issue

Would going 65 inch change much or is it better going 55 and get the dearer model

    Hey Jeffk.

Both are great value for money and the C6 would still be a good purchase.
If you went up to the 65C6 then you would be looking at €818 delivered (2 year warranty).

    What would you recommend?

I am guessing for 30 more the TCL 55C7K is a better tv and the TCL 65C6K is just a bigger screen?

Trying to not say get the cheaper one as its bigger and then its not as good.

    Hi Jeffk.

Yeah the C7 is the better TV.

Its really down to weather you want the 55" with the better picture or go larger to the 65" and still have a decent QD Mini LED television but just not as good as the 7 series.

    C7 ordered thanks

I dunno who will be more happy, me getting the TV or my father/family getting my old one

They have a TV about 20 years (one hdmi port, more surround that screen), my father's wishing death on it for I dunno how long

TV arrived this morning and so far it's so much better, no more avoid 4k because it's like watching it in the dark

Pity the delivery company don't have a live tracking system or even tell people what day they'll be here... Went for a cycle and got back too seen two missed call, luckily he answered WhatsApp (no free calls or house phone) or be returned

Be bringing the old one up too the home house soob

    Thanks again, excellent as always

Really glad to hear the new TV has landed and you're happy with it!

Unfortunately the couriers we use for TVs are a specialist delivery company and don't have a customer facing tracking service. I will pass this over to our mail order team though!

If you do have any issues or need anything else in the future please don't hesitate to drop us a post and thanks again for the business, it's much appreciated!

    Kind regards

    David
