    That was a great quali.

On the sprint earlier as well, it felt like a proper race compared to what was served up earlier in the season while still maintaining the entertainment value.

Hopefully a sign for tomorrow too.

If that was Max on inside and George on outside, George would be crying like a baby

I felt George closed a door in Kimis face when he was fully alongside. Completely ran him off the road. If it was different teams I reckon the race director would have referred to the stewards. I'm wondering what the process is when there's an incident, does the race director discuss it with teams before sending to the stewards?

Maybe we'll be talking about Silver Arrow Rules very soon!

Yes, possible rain later. Looking likely too. F2 should be spicy!

    40% chance of precipitation today

    image.png

    https://www.gpfans.com/en/f1-news/1084402/f1-fia-canadian-grand-prix-2026-rain-hazard-official/

FIA declares rain hazard for F1 Canadian Grand Prix today

A rain hazard being declared means that the sport's 'official weather service' has given a forecast that there's at least a 40% probability of precipitation at some point in the race.

The hazard needs to be declared no later than two hours before qualifying, and if the cars are in parc ferme when a rain hazard is declared, work detailed in 'FIA-F1-DOC080' can be undertaken.

That's very much not a setup change concession for performance, though. This is because teams set up their cars with the assumption that their new active aero will be in play, reducing downforce on fast straights.

If it's raining and the active aero is reduced to zero or partial activation, then those cars will be sucked down onto the track more in the speedy sections, chipping away at their skid planks and risking disqualification.

To prevent a farcical situation with half the field disqualified after post-race inspections, teams under a rain hazard are allowed to change active front aero settings, which could see them reduce corner downforce and prevent plank wear in that way.

They will also, more simply, be allowed to adjust the ride height of their cars.

Looks like the race will be in dry conditions sadly.

For it to be interesting, the rain needs to come after the race has started and not too much to make them red flag it.

Although, would like to see if the end of the ground effect era means the cars kick up less spray now.

Mick Schumacher and Romain Grosjean just had their Indy 500 introductions..

F1 Academy was interesting, lots of off road activity which meant loads of changing places.

Person who finished 2nd did well and was swarming all over the gear boxes to put the pressure on and make some good moves to move up the field.

The Track was drying as the race got to the end.

F2 Race will be on shortly.

The drivers look freezing on the parade, so it’s very different conditions today regardless of the rain.

Rain properly picking up and it’s freezing, let’s go!
