Lucky to be only 4 points down at the break. Officiating very poor but to be expected. Our use of the ball coming out of the backs is poor, as is our movement in the forwards. Harry shine unlucky with that goal attempt but really can't be missing the earlier chance for a point. I still think we can grind out a win here but we need better movement on the breaking ball

Donnelly getting 4-5 shots to the chest and when he reacts only one yellow card , James Owen’s what more can be said , he’s not reffing so needs the attention

Full forward line cleaned and Harry Shines man has scored 2 points. Pace a big Issue

For a ref thats supposed to let things go he gave a few soft frees against us in my hugely biased opinion. Just hope we use the breeze to our advantage now in the second half . It’s do or die now.

    We are cooked....

    Very poor performance...

Too many errors , bad decisions & bad shooting by players...

    Just not good enough anymore.

The chickens have come home to roost this week for Kilkenny. Hopefully it is a MASSIVE WAKE UP CALL TO THE COUNTY BOARD

The most brainless team in the country

The last 15 mins has been embarrassing. Playing to no plan whatsoever

The regression in every aspect of our play this year has been crazy. If anyone on the line is still in the job Tuesday it's a disgrace.

The sad thing is none of us are really surprised

Goodbye Derek Lyng. It's been a shitshow

I had a family event and only got to see the second half. As others said this team is brainless. But also they a poorly coached team. There is clearly something really wrong between the players and the management. Lyng has to go now but who takes over is the bigger issue now.

bring paddy Deegan too absolutely scandalous, everything from 40-50 mins came off him when we were back in the game

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,288 ✭✭✭kksaints

Zero complaints. Dublin outplayed and outran us today. Shake up required for next year.

Fair play to Dublin, by far the better team and I think they'll do more this year. But Jesus we were septic, absolutely the culmination of everything that we've seen all year. Most depressing thing was the work rate especially in the forwards. The players have not been playing for lyng, which is on lyng but the players need to take accountability as well, they just were not a kk team this year, at all. Dublin backs were ferocious in fairness, very disheartening to see us second out to the ball so often. When it was still in the mix and Cody was on song though, lads seemed completely oblivious and not willing to get it to him. Second best all day, second best all year really. If we aren't in a crisis as a county then we may give it up altogether, the worst week in my memory for kk hurling, and I don't think anyone here could say they're surprised.

Lyng will probably go, I'd imagine, and I feel bad for him today because it's not all on him but it is time to rethink it again.

We could go another 10-15 years without an all Ireland.

I said this already we went from competing in league finals to nearly getting relegated. We went from getting to all irelands to now not getting out of leinster. I couldn't believe some of the braindead things that was done. We drew with cw and offally. This was coming. Theres some lads here that have defended the carry on of the county board. Its rotten from the very top down. This surely has to be it now. Huge clear out

Can always point to a last-minute goal or a poor refereeing decision as a moment that turned a game. But over six matches, the table doesn’t lie. We looked like a poorly coached team, and the performances throughout the intercounty championship were nowhere near the standard they should have been. One-off moments can cost you a match, but consistent underperformance across an entire campaign points to much bigger issues.

I'd expect that Derek Lyng will go after this. There's likely be a number of players finished after this as well. After the week that's in it, whoever comes in has a huge task

The amount of mis placed passes and mis controlled from the backs and midfield was shocking to see. It is septic in our underage teams too and now we are seeing it at senior. We have a long road ahead of us. The worrying thing is that we have some of the Kilkenny greats on the sidelines from u20 to Senior and we are still so poor. It is not going to change over night so we could potentially go another 10 years without an All Ireland

Absolutely 💯. The favouritism ends now, we are the laughing stock of hurling. Not blaming Lynn, he didn't have the support.

The next manager better be able to manage because from what im hearing many of the choices on offer, are not.

This is incredible Offaly in the All Ireland QF, Kilkenny gone. From under age right through so many young lads have said to hell with county teams and they have pulled out. This nepotism will see beyond 2030 before there's a chance of an all ireland again. Thats the cold realty.

Village is right on Deegan in the context of today. He dropped two balls in that period of time that led directly to scores. We got to within a point and then basically handed them 1-3 and that was all she wrote.

Surely that will be the last time we see TJ in the Kilkenny jersey. As one of the greats of the game its now time to move on. We are not going to win an All Ireland with him or without him

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22 Give it to tj

Lyng has to go now and if he has sense he will go on his own accord. Big problem is who would want to take on this **** show I woudnt be a bit surprised to see even more players going travelling or not committing themselves next year, Imo David herity has to be involved either as a selector or manager.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 5,007 ✭✭✭kk.man

    Fair play Dublin fully deserved.

How much ball went high into our full forward line in that last 10 mins? Almost every single one cleared by Dublin. We have big forwards who can't win ball in a high stakes game. I think more than the manager needs to think about their position.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,195 ✭✭✭Conversations 3

Comments turned off on the KK twitter post and Facebook post giving the final score.

    The KK supporters are angry.

Hopefully the lads go traveling now and get a good break.

Then hopefully come back to wholesale changes in KK hurling, but I won't hold my breath.

Well beaten today. Did we win a ruck? Our touch was much worse than Dublin's all day. We seem to be panicky with the ball even when in loads of space. There seems to be quite a confidence issue with the players. The present set up isn't working so somethings obviously got to change. Well done Dublin and Offaly and Galway.

Thank you JJ, Jesus I don't have an agenda, this is every year, it's intercounty hurling it's ruthless, if we composed ourselves from the 40th minute we would have won that game but Ronan Hayes cleaned Deegan and he also didn't have the legs on a couple of occasions either to get a hook in when it was on or catch a couple of high balls he had an advantage on. Brutal stuff, I'm

Looking at this **** since 2018

if you would take off your Deegan hating tinted glasses and look at the other 14 players on the pitch under the same scrutiny you’d find that would describe a lot more players on that team that just him. Im not defending his performance today or his place on the team in general, but to single out one player again it’s just mad, taking Deegan out of that team is not going fix anything.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,584 ✭✭✭✭Realt Dearg Sec

Deegan had a bad day but I would blame the forwards before I ever got round to any of the backs. Second out to everything, workrate was a scandal and allowed them to launch waves of attacks. Not to mention once again allowing them the short puckout when they were playing against the wind, AGAIN. tactics were a shambles.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,131 ✭✭✭Village87

Yes I highlighted at half time full forward line cleaned and complete lack of pace. Harry Shine and mossy and TJ also too slow

An awful lot to be discussed in the next few weeks, it’s vital that the anger remains. Changing management won’t solve all the problems we have. We need for the ordinary CB members to call out theses frauds at the top and a few prominent people to back it up.
