    Hi

My wifes 5 year old Hyundai Tuscon is giving trouble. She bought it as a second hand 4 years ago but it is just past its 5 year warranty. Its giving engine problems, loss of power, excessive oil consumption. Couple of my froends who are mechanics have suggested she change the car and trade it in as the future doesnt look good due to tuscons known issues with this problem, which will get worse.

We are looking at similiar mid range suv which is safe and reliable. Dont care about style, comfort, just want a reliable car which will last a few years. Looking to see what people would recommend.

I suppose examples would be Toyota Rav 4. Honda CR V. Volkswagon Tigan. Mazda CX 5.

Just wondering what people more knowlegeable than me would suggest.

    Thank you

    Kuga pre 2020 2.0

The Rav4 and CRV both have good reliability.

    You didn't specify fuel preference.

Avoid Kuga Phev they have recalls related to fire risk. Diesels would be safer bet but they are so bland and outdated.

I’d go RAV4 non plugin hybrid - these cars usually very easy to change as always in demand and hold value well.

I have had two Rav4s in a row; impeccable. Both Canadian assemblies and perfectly suited to our rugged circumstances.
