Pitch or stadium? Someone above said it is the same width as the Aviva pitch

4 tries from 5 22 visits, I'd be questioning Ulsters defence

Thought the two centres have stepped up to be fair. Very little go forward to work off though. Cup finals are very different to regular season URC games. Can’t just rely on your attacking shape. Need to roll your sleeves up and fight for every inch. Ulster need more from Bell and Augustus in terms of getting some gain line.

Ulster really struggling with Montpeliers power and size, going to depend on whether the French side wilt in the last 20

Great match to watch but shocking defence from Ulster.

If they can score early and the big MP lads start to wilt in the heat, there could be a way back

McCann should have been allowed tackle the player before that. Montpelier player was clearly not bound. You have to be bound by your shoulder.

Carley told him no. Bad call.

Ulster are doing well when they get runners on shoulders, like with Izzy's try. Think they could do with some short kicks behind Montpelier's defense, check their rush a touch.

Ward is an exceptionally powerful ball carrier with great speed. But he has always been poor in other aspects of his game. His plusses will outweigh his minuses but only up to a certain level. He's not international class. Hopefully he gets there eventually.

Cliché but Ulster have to score first 2H. Have to go to the air and contest.

Montpellier tries all from errors; missed tackle, unforced knock on, dithering in the 22, poor exit.

Ulster look absolutely gassed walking up the steps back onto the pitch

If only the TV producers could show the director of rugby who apparently in in the crowd :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,288 ✭✭✭ironingbored

Surely there was a knock on by a Montpellier player after it was knocked back first.

    That's an excellent finish

    it was damn good.

I though Mont would have done better with the scrum..

This could be a total massacre.

    Ulster being totally destroyed

Montpellier have dominated this game tactically as well as physically. Exploited Ulster's lack of height in the backfield with a few very good contestables which they won. Gave them easy possession in Ulster's 22 and another try.

    Game over, unfortunately

Shocking...we've been bad defensively all season but this is pitiful

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,328 ✭✭✭Brief_Lives

    Hume couldn't do much there

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,995 ✭✭✭Utah_Saint

They look overwhelmed by the whole occasion

Worried for the Leinster lads playing in that heat tomorrow. Ulster lads look absolutely fucked for most of the game

Unfortunately it was clearly a massive mistake for Ulster to focus on this game ofer the Glasgow one. I get why they did it but it obviously hasn’t paid off.
If I was the Ulster coach Kok would be one of the first players on my team sheet. Just sets the expectation in attitude so well. Think unfortunately after a good season Murphy has messed up the pointy end.
