Its a cloudy morning here in north Longford with occasional sunny spells. 14c which is great. Looking forward to the spell of good weather, however long it lasts. It will be great to get a bit of sun and warmth after the cold and indeed the wet.

Fair conditions here, Wicklow mountains doing their thing. Already 19.1, could be a very warm day if the sea breeze doesn't kick in

Dull as ditchwater to the south of the Wicklow mountains for similar obvious reasons with mist and a temperature of just 13.2c atm

Very dull and overcast in Dublin but warm, if sun comes out it will be roasting😎

Very nice in SCD. In Backrock at the moment. Hazy sunshine and car thermo saying 21c.

If it wasn't for the fresh breeze, I'd describe it as very mild and mostly cloudy in Trim, Meath. But that nagging wind pares thing back somewhat to a borderline cool/mild feel.

Overcast in Dublin yesterday. Experienced no rain although radar visibly had some passing over. Blue skies appeared before dusk. Lovely n mild (though felt humid earlier in day)

Cloudly mostly today so far in Meath. Warm. Sun behind clouds but I see rain approaching on radar. Boo.

    19⁰ Meath

18c in Sligo n cloudy with a bit of hazy brightness. 11c higher than last Sunday. Rain expected in evening so 16c by then. Already 27c today in England. 32.8c is attainable there in next 4 or 5 days.

not a great day here in Meath, cloudy and rain has arrived. Not enough to properly wet the ground so far but those rain drops are big.

Home from hospital over the weekend was warm leaving Dublin 20c but I'll be back on in carrick at 15c , warmest days over the weekend for Dublin so I'm missing out on that but it's the sun I'm after not the heat per say , vitamin D is always a good thing to boost the mood 😀 hopefully the warm days continue into next week , was due to go Canada on Tuesday but even there doesn't look as good as here so maybe a blessing in disguise 😀, hope everyone is well and enjoy the heat hopefully this is 1st of many warm settled spells to come between now and September

First day above 21C here since October 06th , see breeze holding things back a bit but its glorious outside. Currently 21.2C which is the high of the day.

There is some amount of grass growth over the past week with the return of the rain and higher temps. Looking forward to the weekend.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth house?

No good weather in NW yet. Also North wind next week means our heat will last a day.

I'm surprised at the temperatures being spoken about for the weekend and beyond by Met Eireann. I am going to the Blaskets over the weekend YR Weather are giving the temperatures for Dunquin and the Blaskets to be no higher than 14 degrees on Sunday, likewise my weather app on my phone says the same. Dingle no higher than 17 degrees.

I checked Mullingar and Dublin just to get a broader picture, they're predictated to be 21 degrees max on Sunday. Yet ALL I'm hearing all day long on radio is temperatures of 26 degrees. Will anywhere get these highs?

just back from a week away with work. Jesus the hype on this heatwave is insane. Pretty much the whole drive home from the airport (cloudy sometimes wet 14/15 degrees) was non stop heatwave heatwave heatwave from moronic djs hello radio nova. Hopefully it delivers especially tomorrow and Sunday when people are off work. It’s dull low cloud and about 12 degrees tonight.

You’re looking at coastal spots which will always be cooler and take something truly exceptional to get to those heights in the heart of summer (won’t happen in May, sea temps too cool).

Any temps that high will be around Monday or Tuesday and localised to the usual hot spots like Shannon Airport car park. Most will be a good bit lower. Context is important which is always lost in media.

We really couldn't get a more stunning morning than that. People of Ireland, the land of rain and cold are we ready😎🍹🏖🌞🌡

Cloudy. 13C. Wind cutting that temperature like a knife through butter. Drizzle last night. Best thing I can say is it's not raining.

Beautiful morning. Time to get out and enjoy it :)

Cool, overcast, with a lighter to moderate breeze near Ardagh, Longford. 15°. Skies expected to become clearer from late this afternoon, onwards.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,810 ✭✭✭pauldry

Same as Leitrim but wer 14c n rain holding off for now. A few brightness bits coming through. Will peak at 18c today which I quite like as long as its not windy or rainy. Most people more female than male find this freezing as a husband and father I can testify and worker.

So weather up to next Wednesday looks very good for midlands South and East. North and West will have one warm day of 23c and a few hours sun here and there. Aside from that cloudy and bright instead of cloudy and dark.

Fantastic morning. Just back from a walk. 🌞

There is going to be a lot of outrage on social media next week. The east coast towns won't even get to 20 degrees. Half of Dublin will be giving out about the 'so called' heatwave.

Here in Bray, we are forecast a high of only 18 on Tuesday while much of western half of country in the mid 20s.

But as others have said, trash media are hyping this event. It will be gorgeous for much of the country but the major population centres won't get these temps.

I'm hoping it will still be very pleasant all the same. Fingers crossed that it's the start of a nice sunny summer. We deserve it after a crap winter and mainly below average May.
