How long to wait between plastering and painting

just plastered a big wall at the back of my house, just 1 coat didn’t bother scratching it, how long do I need wait before painting it?

Depends on the weather. I'd personally leave it at least a month but two weeks is normally the minimum. If its cold wet or humid then you need to add a bit on to your two week minimum.

Years ago, a guy recommended to me, to give newly plastered (plaster now, not hardwall) walls a coat of vinegar but the main advice was to ensure the plaster is well dried so as the previous poster has said give it at least two weeks.

never heard anything about putting vinegar on a wall. I’ll give it a few weeks more so, thanks for the replies

It's cement render (external) not plaster.

Maybe thats what it's called now, when I was a teenager and tending a plasterer during my school holidays it was called plaster.

and it still is plaster, if you asked a plasterer to put “cement render external” onto a wall they’d have some laugh at you

So what is say 'K-Render' for ? Please note, it's not to 'cement render external'. I put external in brackets for a reaon. Them brackets are ust as important as putting lime into the render mix!
