Well, that was another horrible experience.

I really hope City drop points tomorrow because I really don't know if the team will keep it together in the final game.

Have we got a Psychologist ? Or even a hypnotist.

I can't really understand it. Burnley are absolutely rubbish, it was obvious from the first minute that they were never going to threaten and yet Arsenal were hanging on for dear life in the final minutes.

I know nerves etc, but, come on... psychologically there's something amiss with the team.

We are awful to watch it has to be said.

Hopefully we can see this out, would much prefer if Bournemouth took something tomorrow night as I don't know have this team the belief to go and beat Palace, even if Palace play a second string side

3 points in the bag and keeping up the George Graham style 1-0 to the Arsenal and reports pep is leaving city

Far from a horrible evening for me 👌🏻

Genuinely hoping we squeak across the line and it removes the fear of losing psychological block. Lads on the pitch didn't have a hair on their chest when we last won, breaking the duck on winning could relax some of the pressure

Pep probably letting it out ahead of tomorrow’s game hoping it’ll motivate the players. It’s such a tricky game for them. Villa at home will be a walkover.

The reality was Raya was a spectator for the game as they had no real threat, a second would have kept the nerves at bay and probably led to a 3rd but when 1 mistake can ruin the season its always going to be hard to not get anxious.

Sunday will be similar I suspect and I think city will batter villa so the pressure will be on early too as they'll put that to bed quickly, so can see it being a horrible day for tension if we need the win, which I think we will.

That was not fun. Hope we spend the summer concentrating on getting a proper attack going.

And sell our captain. Death by a thousand pointless touches.

Anyway, happy thoughts, one more big step to go…

Bournemouth also could secure a Champions league fifth spot if they can overtake Liverpool, so they definitely have something to play for at home. Pressure back on City.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,482 ✭✭✭FixitFelix

Yeah the scoreline made it nervy not any real chances or pressure from Burnley

    Come on Bournemouth!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,941 ✭✭✭ronjo

Yeah it definitely wasn't like West Ham game.

Burnley Probably could play another 90 mins at not score. Wasn't fun though

Tell you what, how Haverz avoided a red is a mystery, thats a sending off all day, if it was reversed we'd all be screaming for it.

    Start Gyokeres Sunday.

Hopefully Mosquera is a bit better sunday too, thought he was a bit weak at RB tonight and coughed up a fair amount of possession for them, and a better team may have punished it.

Job done lads and let's be honest easily. While I was expecting an early goal and a huge win it didn't materialise. Burnley made it difficult with some good possesion and controlled play in the second half. A lot of their players looking for moves away this summer (to impress) and the club will look into selling them on. Once Arteta made the substitutions it was clear seeing it out was the main priority. I felt sorry for Gyokeres as he was holding everything up and winning duels but he had very little support. It was to contain what we had. On to Palace now and a win will win us the league. Anything from tomorrow night is a huge bonus. It's in our hands to win it, as it should be. COYG

Interwebs is melting down over the Gunners win tonight.

One nil. Boring football. No red card. Corruption.

Yet we have a title race going down the wire.

    Brilliant!

if they play they’re u-12s we’ll still find a way of making it a tight rope wire affair. In fact I see a draw so Bournemouth better do something tonight.

I was really hoping they’d go out and take these games by the scruff of the neck and say “we’re taking this title” feels like the opposite

Some of the reactions in here are way ott tbh. Have you guys been watching the last couple of months? It wasn’t a great watch but it was pretty comfortable. Conceded 0 shots on target and that’s their 32nd clean sheet of the season

Really hoping Bournemouth can do us a favour tonight because going to the last day needing to win away to Palace will be even more excruciating

If there's any truth to the story that Palace get 10m as part of the Exe deal if Arsenal win the league then you'd have to wonder what's in it for them to stop us? Safe in the league, 1 or 3 points wont move them high enough to get more than the 10m in prizemoney, European final a few days later for a team with 2 trophies to their name in their history… but you just know it'll be torture.

Be so much easier for everyone if Bournemouth can get a result tonight. Though I can't see it, think we're destined for a day of mental torture on Sunday.

F**k it, lets go & do it.

This is what I think too. Thought this before the game last night and last night's perfromance did nothing to allay those fears.

I was trying to search this over the weekend and there doesnt seem to be any truth to the rumours on social media.

shame! All help would have been greatly appreciated.

Yeah I am concerned about the Palace game now, especially since Glasner has come out saying he doenst plan on rotations even thigh they have the final the following week. This could all be just part of the mind games also. Palace are in poor form and hopefully that continues.

Unfortunately City are at home to face Villa in the last match who are guaranteed CL dont have anything to play for and have their own final the following week.

As I posted before, Bournemouth are still an outside chance to get the 5th spot and CL, but they need to win both games and hope Liverpool lose. CL would give them an additional estimated £60-80m next season.

COnsidering they have one of the lowest revenue bases in the PL, thats a serious amount of motivation to get over City tonight and maybe the Pep news might just give an unwanted distraction.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,817 ✭✭✭Royale with Cheese

I think people are underestimating Bournemouth's chances tonight a bit, there absolutely is a chance they will get something. They're unbeaten in 15-16 at this stage? Champions League is very achievable for them if they win tonight too. After the 2-1 loss at the Etihad and you looked at the fixtures hoping City would drop points somewhere this was the game you were looking at.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,616 ✭✭✭wassie

I would agree - CL would transform Bournemouth overnight with such a massive cash injection. They have everything to play for tonight and maybe the Pep news will be an unwanted distraction for the City players.

Villa's final is tomorrow night, not that it really makes any difference regarding Sunday. They have no incentive to perform either way.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,730 ✭✭✭AllGunsBlazing

Villa will be going into Sunday with a massive hangover. Either from celebrating or drowning their sorrows.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 12,347 ✭✭✭✭DvB

Villa will easily win the EL final. anyway, cant imagine Emeri allowing his team deny City the chance of pipping us to the title. They will 100% roll over and get beaten.

I think the best thing for us as fans is to trust the team can get the job done at the weekend and not rely on any help from other teams, there was some good ball played yesterday

I was surprised gyokores didn’t start yesterday but havertz needs game time I guess
