If we can give him the right ball he will win at least 50% of them and get Harry Shine to play off him and he will do damage.

Its a big ask for Harry Shine also. Not the quickest forward and has so little game time and Dublin have good backs. Hopefully we get a performance like Clare last Saturday where everyone is just on it. Now is the time for Mossy and Eoin Cody to take over the leadership and get us over the line, there not young lads anymore.

got a message this evening from the 42 website that the U20 final is between Clare and Galway in Semele stadium at 2pm. That saves us a trip Wednesday night.

We have played 10 matches this year in league and championship and you would be hard set to say we have played a good 35 minutes never mind a good game. Maybe the second half against a weak Wexford or a tired Kildare. I think we need a lot to go right.

    • 90% conversion of frees
    • Cut down drastically on the number of wides
    • Take our goal chances
    • Bring on subs after 50 minutes
    • No sending off or black cards. 2 red cards in our last 4 matches
    • Mossy to get back to his 2025 level
    • Better conversion level from Liam Moore
    • Another good performance and passing from Eoin Cody
    • Proper ball into Harry Shine
    • Better delivery into forwards

I note that Tom Phelan was fulfilling the role of Billy Ryan and John Donnelly in dropping back to help the half backs and carrying the ball forward. I would see Killian Doyle as a defensive midfielder and Cian Kenny as an attacking midfielder.

Unlikely that all the above is going to happen but a good few do if we are going to win. The bookies have this as a 50 50 match. Dublin have the better form, Kilkenny have "tradition" whatever that means.

I can't remember Kilkenny ever being out of the champiomship before the end of May but if we play as we have done so far this year that will happen. A huge improvement is required

Might as well be January in O'Moore Park. Raw wind, rain eased off a bit. Guts and heart will go a long way to winning this.

Really good first 20 min but you have to feel not scoring for the last 10 with the wind will be costly

Great start, too many wides to finish. Hard to know how much that breeze is worth.

strong kk first half show, downing was unplayable for first quarter till galway started to heat it up

Hopefully they'll dig it out. Wind is a bit swirly at the town end too.

A few lads have a bit more in them hopefully. Rory Power looking dangerous. Dowling was flying till a few late wides. He tends to put wides behind him though and moves on to the next ball.

How is it a dead rubber? Offaly need to get something out of it to have a chance of continuing in the championship

good shout on Power, a great couple of mins there from power and walsh

Jesus he's the absolute cut of Richie on the pitch, same body language, same strike, the whole lot. Look well on top at the moment although Galway just got a good goal. Not bad for a team most in the county were writing off. Management deserve huge credit for what they've done so far this year at minor

Did Power mean to drop the ball and dummy it?

If he did it was some goal.

Great performance by the team overall.

    Edit: ****

My god that was some collapse

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 701 ✭✭✭mullinr2

Well the minors really messed that one up. 11 points up and not able to close it out

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,831 ✭✭✭me89

12 points up with 15 minutes to go and they didnt score again

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,289 ✭✭✭kksaints

Should have tapped it over and made it a five point lead instead of running forward on the slim chance of a goal. Next puckout Galway score a goal and then a really bad decision by the defender for the free. Forward is going nowhere, just make no contact with him. I know they're young lads but even so they should have more game intelligence than that.

Should have won but gave away 2 sloppy goals and then a stupid push in the back to give away an equalizing free

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13 amber_black

Young power got a fantastic goal. Showed real composure like his father....maybe could of took point when he solo'd in near end to put us 5 up.

    Great effort so far.

Whoever gets wind first half will be hard to beat i think.

Couldn't win our puckouts at all in the second half, not much went our way in the last 15 minutes

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 442 ✭✭Sir Chaz

Terrible collapse I'd fear for us in extra time. Brilliant first 15 in both halves and then both times just fell away completely.
We didn't seem to do anything different when we went 12 up, Galway forwards seemed to have tonnes of space which helped them get back into it. Needed to drop a player or 2 deeper and stop goal chances and we were home and hosed.

Hopefully we can pick it up again. A win would be a great start to a huge week for us.

Getting the first score or two in this first half of extra time will be crucial

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,817 ✭✭✭Charlie69

Young Lawler hurling well since he came on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,817 ✭✭✭Charlie69

Missed enough chances to win two games.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,783 ✭✭✭✭dastardly00

We did all the hurling in that first half of extra time. Should have at least one goal. Need to take advantage of the wind now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20 Hurlarious

that’s some shitshow, 12 points up and Galway of course will win it now in extra time with the depth they have. Disaster.
