lads only following online but where was the big stoppage, 13 minutes, who was down injured for so long?

Gained our 2 places back, we're an absolute unit 4 losses since Nov

Presumably VAR for the pen, a few longish injury breaks, a kot of subs, but 13 minutes?

Another solid performance last night, extending the unbeaten run in the league to 7. Could have won it in the end but for an unbelievable save from Longstaff's shot. What has been obvious in our upturn in results is that we really don't allow the opposition to settle on the ball at all. Our midfield lads get through a huge amount of work, closing down, forcing turnovers, being physical. Opposition teams really know they've been in a game against us.

I missed most of the first half so can't really comment on how we performed there but I didn't really notice James before he was replaced and the difference Gnonto made was massive. Even as RWB (which is certainly not his best position imho) he was one of our most creative players. I know I'm one of his more vocal supporters on here but I really hope he gets more time next season as he's a fantastic footballer. His positioning when we have the ball, his touch, his use of the ball and his vision, we need to get more from this lad.

I said a few weeks back I was hoping to reach 48 points and this is still very much on the cards, a finishing position above 15th would be lovely in our first season.

First game I've been to in years where there was no jeopardy. Last few seasons we've been chasing promotion or trying to avoid relegation right up to the last day so it was a bit strange to be able to relax at a game for a change.

I think I'd prefer to see West Ham go down as it's a pleasure to visit the Tottenham Stadium as opposed to that other kip so not too disappointed with the result. Also think we can finish above Palace now as they've City and Arsenal to play.

Sunday at the last home game will be fun too.

Before we move on to the inevitable discussion on new signings or who should move on, it's probably time to consider the player of the season and signing of the season.

For me, POTY is probably Rodon. He has been solid this year, a real leader at the back and you sense he has a calming effect on those around him. Honourable mention to captain fantastic Ampadududu.

Best signing has to be Stach. Honourable mentions to Gabi and DCL who have both been excellent.

    Gabi (POTY) and DCL 👍

I'd agree gudmundsson for me, going forward he always seemed to get past his man and delivered some unreal crosses. DCL as I said when he signed, if he could stay injury free he would be very good signing and he turned out to be just that.

All in all great season and thank god we stuck by farke.

Darlow is my POTY. He proved all his doubters wrong including Farke and there have been very few conversations about Leeds United goalkeepers this season to the relief of everybody. Made some worldie saves too.

POTY - Gabi. He's been incredible all season, the recruitment team did well. Honorable mention to Joe Rodon, probably my favourite current player and always so dependable.

Signing - DCL. Would have been Gabi any other season, but 14 goals from a free transfer can't be overlooked.

    Last home game this weekend.

Brighton are a decent side and we've a few injuries but we can play with no fear now. Hope Rutter plays as it'll be interesting to see what sort of reception he gets.

Always like the bit at the end when the players come out with their families and do the lap of the ground.

Then next week, off to relegate West Ham. That could be tasty in and around Stratford 😁

Brighton game looks like we're playing the kids; Out: Gruev, Bogle, Gabi, Buonanotte, Okafor, Ampadu and Struijk struggling,

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,162 ✭✭✭adaminho

Ampadu recovers from the bug he had, Struijk out. I see Utd were wearing next seasons kit today, wonder if we will preview ours.

Leeds doing ok for who they have on the pitch, but Brighton look more dangerous up front. I do hope in the summer we get a decent number 10.

Wow. That's why Darlow is my POTS. Outstanding save.

Stach's knee done in. He'll need the summer to recover from that.

That fcuks his World Cup participation.

It will give West Ham some motivation today knowing that Leeds will be heavily weakened for the last game.

Hopefully he doesn't miss the WC cos if it. As nice as itd be to see him get a break, rather see the players represent their countries on that stage.

Bloody hell, we don't half miss Gudmundsson and Okafor today.

Having to rely heavily on our defending today. Pressure mounting.

First shot on target and its the 95th minute and its into an open net, bloody lovely

Can't stop talking about how good Darlow is. Safe pair of hands.

FT. Brighton are an annoying team for Leeds. Repaid in full.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,770 ✭✭✭✭whiterebel

Well done, win at the death. Great finish, DCL.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,471 ✭✭✭Hijpo

See Ampadu giving him a kick in the hole after he comes and claims that cross 😂

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,169 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

Think DCL makes the England squad now. Some season for him, a freebie hoping it goes right and, well, its gone very right for him and Leeds.

Nice win to round off the home games

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,770 ✭✭✭✭whiterebel

Even better result when you look at the side and bench we had today. Even Byram looked old compared to what was left when they were warming up in the corner.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,154 ✭✭✭Carcharodon

I agree, obviously DCL has been a huge factor and had a massive input but for me Rodon is the player that makes the team solid, when he didn’t play, it was so obvious on how important he was, he is a natural leader and organizer.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,458 ✭✭✭Ceist_Beag

I thought Farke summed up the game perfectly yesterday saying it reflected our season. Not always pretty, but great resolve, great character, stayed in the game when we were under pressure and then were alert enough to take the chance when it presented itself. Hopefully the injury to Stach isn't serious enough to rule him out for the World Cup. I think West Ham will be all but down when we go there (I expect Spurs to pick up at least a point at Chelsea) so it's hard to know what way they will turn up but imagine being in a position where we could end this season with 50 points. We could potentially finish 10th if all results went our way but regardless of that, our run recently has been incredible, we're second in the form table behind Man City! 8 league games unbeaten, let's go and make it 9.

Judging by the photos doing the rounds it looked like a bad gash on his ankle, provided there is no other damage he should be good in a week or two. What a season over all and hopefully another win next week, we've only lost to Arsenal and Fulham in London (I'm not counting Wembley as that's a separate Hoodoo) so great to see an improvement there.
