It would have been difficult to replace the likes of Ronan Maher, Breen, the 2 McGraths and Forde after last year, but that's what was probably needed this year. Tipps team next year will have to be completely different but they have enough lads coming that it will likely improve them immediately.

Agree with above except maher. He was very good last night and still has role to play marking teams target men, he done well all last year and against Duggan last night and hayes first day out this year.

Ithink the penalty and black card so soon into the second half killed Kildare off they were no threat after that. Waterford leading Limerick by three points after twenty five minutes

    All the chat about Tipp..

If they have some many yung lads coming through...

How come they can only ever do the 1 in a row??

If they had a constant supply of top hurlers coming through to freshen up/improve a panel, surely they should be able to manage 2 in a row??

    (Never mind a 4 in a row....) 😉

I watched Dublin v Galway highlights the Dubs should have scored another two goals. Who got motm in our game last night?

Why do you think it's not on TV? RTE have scheduled one Leinster and one Munster Round 5 game for next weeks coverage so I think it will be shown.

GAA+ will also be showing one game. Dublin-KK and Cork-Clare will almost certainly be two of the three games being shown live

Praise is not something I would give atm. Ronnie on KCLR was asked by BH in the middle of the second half how he viewed the comeback he reply was 'its the level we should be playing at'.

I never thought I'd witness a kilkenny team and or supporters looking for praise after beating a Kildare senior hurling team. Is this our new barometer?

We will go to Parnell Park as underdogs next Sunday which will be a new experience. The team threw off the shackles in the second half and I would imagine all 5 munster counties would most likely dish out similar beatings to Kildare who have a fair journey to travel to compete at the top table. A note of positivity for them is the gathering momentum behind moves to change the format of the Leinster championship from next season with a possibility of expanding it to seven teams and thereby giving Kildare another crack at McCarthy cup level.would be a sensible move IMO. For us ,we are left to wonder what exactly happened in the dressingroom at half time that led to players being unrecognisable from those that produced such mediocrity in the first half? Moore set the teams stall out on the throw in with a barnstorming run leading to a free. One poster anticipates his replacement the next day by Mullen. I hope not. Cody redeemed his first half display with two outstanding assists for goals one and two that ended the game as a contest. Harry Shine has that bit of class about him and is just the type of clinical forward we are crying out for. I don't know if a MOTM was awarded. For me it was TJ . How anyone could wish us gone from the championship and denied every possible opportunity to see the G.O.A.T. play defies logic. There was huge tension amongst bewildered KK supporters at half time , justifiably so. It was very heartening to witness the way the team was roared on to victory in the second half by the same supporters and more of the same needed next Sunday, not forgetting minors and 20s tomorrow and Wednesday. Best time of the hurling year when there are no more second chances.

23 wides is not going to get the job done in Parnell Park.I think there was a lot against Offaly too. I don't think Adrian Mullen is fit enough to start. What is the story with John Donnelly? Is he fit? If so, maybe a sub?

Just watching the highlights there and wild have to say I'm happy with eoin Cody's contributions. I, and others here, have been critical of him for being unwilling to pass. Today he was clearly struggling with confidence in the first half, second half to work his way into the game he made the key pass for two goals. It's exactly what you'd want a player needing to build their confidence to do, and he did it and then went on to get his own score. Credit where it's due, and you can go on about it only being Kildare but that's exactly when you need to be doing this kind of thing. Need a big game from him the next day and I think we're going to get it.

Ive said it before about Eoin, I get the feeling that because we don’t create many chances for him or our coaching hasn’t found a way to get him involved in the game more …. that when he does get on the ball he feels he has to do something spectacular like go past three defenders and hang it up in the net.

He really needs to stop trying too hard or forcing it if you like… and his talent will come through naturally. He needs to keep it simple, lay it off when there’s a teammate in a better position or just put the ball over the bar every now and again instead of trying the Hollywood option all the time. There were signs of him doing that in the second half yesterday so hopefully it’s a turning point in his form and performances.

Well KK I thought the young guns performed well, this can only improve there game and give them confidence isn’t that what we are trying to do in the Walsh cup competitions which aren’t really top class matches. Where’s never bet when you need to defend the players or is it only certain players warrant defending.

You're right. Tipp have the all irelands to show for while we don't. Ye were miles ahead us in that u20 final. We have a decent batch of players from 18-20 atm but Wednesday against Galway will tell more there.

I agree with you I would like Moore to keep his place on starting 15.I think through the long winter he has been one of the few shining lights for us and can find no reason to leave him out now.If we had Mullen,J.Donnelly(if fit) On bench we could have possible big impact subs.Anyway big performance needed against Dublin as only a win will guarantee progression.Good luck to all our teams this week

Wouldn't write Kildare off against offaly, they played well for a long time against galway and 1st half against us.Dowling wont want to loose every game and their at home.

Possibly, but the same players are going to the well now each week and this is there 3rd tough match in 3 weeks, with relegation confirmed it will be hard to lift themselves. Also we should not be relying on Kildare to do us a favour to get out of Leinster

There won't be a lack of effort from Kildare but you could see on Saturday night that the 2 games in a week took a lot out of them, especially as they play a very physically demanding running game. All credit to them though, they've shown that they are able to compete at this level and Brian Dowling has them coached very very well!

Offaly are coming off the back of 3 games also. The football style of game Kildare play might not be a great match from Offaly's point of view. It's the first team Offaly will have played (in the recent 3 weeks) that are actually on the same page as to what they are doing.

in reponse to the Cian Kenny question - 2 yellows, so not suspended.

Even if we could have replaced Maher, John Mc, Forde and Breen with the best u23 talent in the country (hypothetically) and we would still be in the same position as now. The older guys weren't the problem this year. The pace issues with them are the same as last year, the major difference between this year and last year is our engine room, our middle-third players, our mid-career and younger guys have fallen off a cliff this year.

The likes of the Stakelums, Morgan, Ormonde, O Farrell, McCarthy, Connolly, Tynan, Connors have had really poor seasons - and all seem to only have about 30 minutes of play per game in them this year for whatever reason. Only Morris and O'Mara out of our middle-third players have had any sort of respectable season.

I think all the teams in Leinster will have played the same games on the bounce, my point more is that ourselves, Galway, Dubs, Wexford and Offaly are more used t playing at this level than Kildare and it probably affected them more, the big thing for them this year was staying up in 1B as it least during the league they will be playing a higher quality of oppisition, Offaly playing in 1A this year has, even though they lost all their games, really stood to them for championship. Similarly, if Carlow win the Joe Mc, I'd fear for them having to play in division 2 and trying to step up to play Leinster championship.

It took Clare and Dublin a while to get to the pitch of that Division 1A teams starting out also, and both are starting to hit form now. Why was Eoghan O'Donnell absent v Galway, will he be out this weekend, we will need all the breaks we can get. Dublin bet Limerick last year without Liam Rushe, Eoghan O'Donnell and Donal Burke and Chris Crummy was sent off after 15 mins, these 4 will improve Dublin no end, leadership and character and physically there.

Big week for all teams from minor to U20 and senior.

Hope the minors can get a big performance tonight and build towards the knockout rounds and a win tonight would be a great bonus.

The U20 have a great chance on Wednesday night if Aaron Niland is out as he went off injured on Saturday against Dublin. We need all 20 players including subs fighting hard for everyball and to just go for it. This is where we need to find leaders from this team and hopefully they will come on Wednesday night.

I think Parnell Park will suit us on Sunday and especially TJ as its a tight pitch and we seem to do well up there over the past 6/8 years in the round robin.

Big ask for a man near 39 to pull us over the line, Dublin have a few strong characters back there and TJ will find it hard. We really need to the other players to step up now and get us over the line. IF we can get through Sunday i reckon we win Leinster as Galway seem to have lost all momentum.
