Just wondering has anyone checked current price for good lowland wool?

Can’t find any up to date quotes on the Journal or Agriland.

Stuck same post in sheep forum also…..but it gets a lot less traffic.

    Thanks for any feedback.

Try Coffeys in Lecarrow, they buy a serious amount of wool in the Midlands

Thanks a man text me off the sheep forum last night.

Good lowland wool is making from 50 to 60 cent a kg……that’s twice what it was making last year so happy days😎

I reckon lambs and breeding stock will be back on last years prices come August so it’s good the wool is worth having for a change.

You'd want a fair lot of wool to make decent money even at 60c a kg.

True but at least it will go most of the way to getting them clipped…..unlike the situation for the last 5 years+

15-20 years ago it was making £1.50/kg for the best of lowland wool, and lads were complaining. It’s good to see it turning upward again but it should be a long way better than it is
