I think it's that we need City to beat Bournemouth.

😂😂😂 This is up there with Woy's "famous night" of a win against Utrecht

I'm convinced anyone saying Slot should stay for next season are wums. Under Slot we've become an awful team, our position of 5th massively flatters us and the chickens will come home to roost next season if Slot is still manager.

If FSG aren't looking at changing after this season I don't know whats going on at the club. To not try get Alonso when Chelsea are knocking at his door is criminal and if we don't act we'll regret it. Slot ain't turning this Titanic around, we're heading full steam right for the iceberg.

I think Bournemouth at home beat City, and an already safe Forest away, and take 5th , while we scrape a draw with Brentford .

What's wrong with that? He was saying we've conceded too many goals this season, and not scored enough goals this season. And that scoring two at Villa Park isn't bad (which it isn't) - that if he'd been told that before the game he'd have assumed we got a decent result with that, so it's a disaster that we manage to score two and yet still lose badly. Having watched the interview, it was said from a point of view of disappointment, not that it was something good to be proud of or something.

That's a ridiculous take on that statement by Slot. Right up there with being on fire and telling everyone it's nice and warm. We scored two. By our CB. Created nothing and got walked on. It was a training match for Villa. We were really that bad.

? I literally watched the interview. What you're saying isn't how he presented it. Like, everything is shït, we don't need to make up hot takes to be annoyed about. He fully accepted how bad we were. It was very obviously from a place of disappointment and frustration rather than an excuse or validation something.

He was talking about how we aren't scoring enough goals, and then sort of undercut himself to caveat that we scored two today which he would've been happy with before the game (as would I, for definite!), but then went and conceded 4, with 3 from set pieces. It was, like, obviously you shouldn't be losing if you're scoring two in a game. He also volunteered the stat that he thinks we've now conceded the most set piece goals in the league.

What Slot is saying imo is that in isolation, scoring 2 at Villa Park is good. No matter who scores them.
BUT we conceded too many goals.

anyway, it doesn’t matter what he says anymore. He could have the lotto number ans people would tell him to **** off

Slot is very hard to like when he spouts so much nonsense after every loss.

He keeps saying when we are better team we don't score , but when they are better team we concede , in a manner that suggest we have been unlucky

I think we have been comprehensively outplayed in pretty much every loss this season , and being honest in many of our wins

Outside of set pieces we create practically nothing so when in any game are we the better team , when passing it around aimlessly around the halfway mark ?

Even shots on goal , they always seem to be desperation shots from outside the box , never really anything created for a striker

He has lost the fans , I think he has lost the players , surely the owners cannot be far behind

I think City will get at least a draw there, so that's enough, but, Brighton will likely beat Leeds, which puts them 3 points behind us, but, with a better GD, if they then beat United and we lose to Brentford, Brighton would end up above us. Certainly not impossible to see that happening, especially as Brentford will be licking their lips at playing us.

Did he say that? Sorry I didn't bother listening into any of the post match interviews

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,122 ✭✭✭✭Charlie19

Not sure what this means. I'm not happy, you're not happy, us as Liverpool fans aren't happy.

We are in big trouble goalkeeper wise. We desperately need Allison to stay and stay fit and need to start looking for another keeper as Mamardashvilli is no where near good enough. His shot stopping is ok but the the rest of his game is awful, kicking - terrible, positioning/speed coming off his line - terrible, anticipation - terrible. He is a massive downgrade on Kelliher never mind Allison, huge mistake not either keeping Kelliher or at the very least putting a buy back clause in his sale.

Thanks for the memories, Arne. But it's time to say goodbye.

Not yet but we will. The lad is only 22 or something. Robbo was still playing for Hull in the championship I think at his age.

Would you prefer "Well I may have given a penalty away but at least he didn't get his cross in"?

Bizarre thing to get annoyed about but okay.

Feels like Carra is manager since game 5. Everything he comments on, Slot does, that in itself makes it time for him to go.

I'd go back the the way we played in first 5 games, over what came after.

If we forget Alonso, who are we looking at , someone with PL experience?

Fabian Hürzeler plays pressing football. He's getting great turnover and pressing numbers, some of the best in PL

    Anyone, absolutely anyone

We are the worst coached team in the league

I could take Dyche over Slot, Slot has turned has into a shite set piece team anyways, just embrace it

    that’s 19 defeats this season 19 !!!

    Very frustrating. Again.

After weathering the early storm, I thought we were the better team up to 2-1. But ‘goals change games’ is an absolute truism.

We were a whisker away from going 2-1 up (Typical that when Gakpo is a yard offside the rebound falls beautifully to him and he buries it, but for the onside one it comes back with a lot of pace and he just has to stretch for it and therefore unable to control it and it flies wide. If he’d been standing even a foot to the right, I think he scores). Then within seconds we gift them a goal through a very unfortunate and untimely slip. They took it well, but it was still a gift.

Those 60 seconds were an absolute body blow. A 2 goal swing, and with our low confidence you could see the players shrink. Dom a great example of that. I thought he was the best player on the pitch up to that. But afterwards, while his set piece delivery was still pretty good, his general play went to pot. And most of the rest were worse.

Was just about to say this but I don't rate his shot stopping either.

I would genuinely sell Mamardashvilli this summer and if Allison keeps remaining as injury prone as he is a big decision needs to be made on him too!

I would definitely buy Kelliher back because surely some big club is going to come in for him this summer!

I know some will think I only say it cause he is Irish but Kelliher would be perfect for Bayern Munich as well!

    Thats fair.

    I find it disappointing too.

But it's been getting progressively more clear since last season's Carabao Final. And it gets to the point where it simply can't be ignored unfortunately.

I wouldn't be judging any player under the current regime.

Id give them all a second chance under a new manager.

Macca the one id be most concerned about thou. Legs look gone, fabinho style

Which 2 goalkeepers are you bringing in this summer so? Kelleher + who else as you can't expect to sell 2 and only bring in 1.

That's in addition to needing a RB, a DM, and 2 wingers/forwards of some capacity to replace Salah, Ekitike & Jota.

That's a big churn on players, again.

Whether we like it or not , Mamardashvili is here to stay for at least another season. If not more.

That's still a serious team ffs , just need the right man to oversee them
