As frustrating I can find it, I still wouldn’t want VAR. I can forgive (after calming down) poor official decisions, but the way they have this bollox quantum rechecks has ruined the sport at the higher levels.

The League needs to focus on improving refereeing performance before VAR is ever considered.

I think the linesman was the only person in the ground that thought there was an offside anywhere, it's one of the horrific LOI officiating decisions that have gone our way this season

There should never have been a scenario anyway debating a ruled out goal because that was more pathetic goalkeeping from Speel who's getting away with murder this season

Speel has definitely been involved in some howlers, not the same player he was last season. Not sure if it’s defensive shuffling or he’s lost concentration but it does explain some of the really soft goals shels are conceding. (Although he’s not letting players dribble right through our centre unchallenged).

We've three tough games before the break. Realistically we need to win all three to have any chance to win the league.

4-1 a slightly misleading scoreline as Waterford should have a scored a second but a deserved win for us. Leavy has been fantastic so far this season and we are getting end products from his brilliant dribbling now. Elbouzedi had a poor enough game up until he scored twice. His second is a screamer. Attacking wise we look unstoppable at times but we're conceding a lot of early goals and there's too many chances been given away at time.

It’s amazing how Victor has developed physically in the last year, very hard to knock of the ball.

It was interesting watching on LOITV to hear the Galway co-commentator absolutely purring in admiration of Victor. He's something else for sure.

Much improved second half for Bohs last night. Different team in second half. Rossi is a new man, finally back to near his best. But for me Diallo was the difference. I love the calmness with which he plays. Great on the ball, rarely plays sloppy passes. I do wonder why he doesn't get more minutes?

Hopefully we can kick on from here. No excuses now. Home to an out of form Drogs next. Another win is only acceptable result.

An "out of form" Drogs have won three of our last four games!!!

He's something else alright. Hope his move is a good one for him.

Missing Joeysoap and his informative take on all things @Dundalkfc. Hope everything is ok…..

I think thats true, unless we find some consistency. Rovers wouldn't have dropped 4 points from winning positions last weekend for example. However, long way to go, and we are only three points behind. We would need to beat Rovers to really put ourselves in the race though.

Europe will play a part. Don’t see Shels, Bohs and Derry doing much unfortunately (I hope I’m wrong) so if Rovers progress the rest will have the advantage of less congestion towards the end of the season, even with the bigger squad and rotation.

Rovers are doing the hard yards now, they'll have built up an unassailable lead before a ball is kicked in the group stage

linesman would have been directly behind Ledwidge as well. Maybe had a better angle than what we see on TV which certainly looks like it was onside.
I thought Bone was going to get a red for that tackle too but overall thought ref was good and let game flow.
There were fewer theatrics when it was clear he was not going to give the fouls.

Foot was facing the same issue as Boards did a few years ago. I think it was still running on vBulletin v4 which must have reached end-of-life over a decade ago. On the backend it's hard to maintain, and it's full of security holes too. dahamsta tried updating to the newer v6 but it didn't go well, and the regulars didn't like the new layout that comes with v6 either.

Sadly it's the same story for a lot of forums now. People are using Twitter, WhatsApp group chats and Reddit instead. With dwindling traffic/ad revenue they aren't financially viable anymore.

I have great memories of Foot from the 00s. When I first got internet at home around 2003 I even had it set as my homepage, so I'm sad to see it fade away.

Before it was Johnny Wards Eircom League page which was probably the first dedicated LoI forum.

Foot.ie used to be good but, as you say, the amount of regular users dwindled. There's probably more comments here than on it. It's sad because even clubs, including my own Drogheda, haven't even their own forums anymore.

I check in here most days and enjoy the comments particularly at the weekend. We don't always agree but the comments are largely respectful and reasonable.

We even had Golden Miller when Will Jarvis was going for the Ballon D'Or. The halcyon days!

The Sligo Rovers forum is still going strong for now. I think ourselves, Dundalk, Galway and Cork are the only sides left with very active club forums.

There are a bunch of Facebook fan groups dedicated to individual teams as well. Drogheda probably have something like that where fans have gathered.

The Loi subreddit is decent. At least there is activity there too.

The Rovers Ultras forum was great back in the day, the facebook group that's used now is toxic and I was happy to leave it all behind when I deleted my FB account a few years back. I used to use foot.ie back in the day but it was very cork centric and I ended up not posting much, ultimately forgetting my login info & got bored trying to reactivate my account so just left it altogether.

TBH I dont miss the Rovers specific stuff, its gotten way too political & agenda driven and anyone with an ounce of sense has stepped away so I make do with here & just chatting to my Rovers mates on a signal group.

I think most people just use Whatsapp groups etc. now.

Too much toxicity on the Internet to have any meaningful discussion, with a few exceptions. TheBohs.com was good, but the Facebook group is basically satire.

Pats form on a graph would look like a toblerone, really inconsistent that way for a few seasons now.

Enda Minogue really did a job on his whole family tonight pulling off 3 super saves against The shams.
