Hi, considering buying a 2025 Peugeot EV from a Peugeot dealer. They have brought the car in from UK and registered it in Ireland.

I've test driven it, like the car and seriously thinking about buying it.

But not sure what information I should ask from the dealer? I asked them about a battery state of health report and they've said they can't provide it. It has very low mileage (less than 15km) but was surprised by this. The car would still be under Peugeot warranty until 2028 and battery warranty until 2032. Would the fact it was originally registered in UK impact any of the terms of the warranty?

Any advice on what information I should ask for before I go any further with this?

If they won’t provide a battery health report, you have to ask yourself how useful they will be if you need anything else.

Whatever I think about Peugeot cars, that’s pretty abysmal that they won’t provide a health report. At 15k klms, it should be grand, but new to EV customers will of course have worries about the battery.

At less than 15k kms, I wouldn't be worried about the battery at this stage. Would a new buyer ask for a report on the state of the cylinder bores of an ICE engine with that little age and mileage? Just make sure the car has a service history and with it being that new, I would expect it to have been performed by a main dealer.

It is under battery warranty until 2032 but check the conditions of that warranty (they usually guarantee a minimum SOH before considering taking action, sometimes as low as 70%). The question about having been registered in the UK first needs to be answered by the dealer but I believe Peugeot have a European wide warranty and will be applicable here.

In the end, if you are not happy with what the dealership is telling you then walk away. There are plenty more cars for sale in the market and you will find another that fits your needs elsewhere.

Thanks for the comments, I did go back to the garage and they said they will give me a battery report. I asked a few other questions aswell so more comfortable about it now. Got answers about the warranty (manufacturers + battery, sw updates etc

The battery wont be a problem, but the dealers incompetence is , on principal I would pick another dealer

Battery tests are generally not free or easily accessible. An independent company needs to visit their premise and carry out the test. I would not expect a battery test to be provided with every car free of charge.

I can do a battery SoH test on my car with a Veepeak OBD2 scanner and the Car Scanner app.

Would recommend Kia EVs 7 year warranty. more reliable. Or Tesla ( have 2K trade in bonus) and lower maintenance.
