Intel jumped another 15% today, it's now at $125. Looks like there is going to be an extreme CPU shortage for the next 3 years something akin to the memory shortage we are seeing.

$200 on the cards for them at this rate

Nice little earner for you in a couple of months

I bought some of it maybe 6 months ago. I would have like an e.u. competitor in the market but they are not quoted and didn't want US competitor for currency risk. It is doing ok and shielded me from risk

    msft

    brk.b

    some cash for dips

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,529 ✭✭✭littlevillage

Soo, you have some cash set aside to buy dips in those three? Fair play, I had the exact same idea and there was significant dips in all three a couple of weeks back.. where I snapped up a good bit, all three have rebounded strongly now though soo you may to sit it out till the next correction.

msft is still cheap tho dip back to 370 be better

brk.b is about fair value or so

goog has had quite a bit of a run up so prob hold on that for a while

there is no rush - not much quality cheap companies at present

NBIS had great earnings and hit a new ATH above $200, no idea whether to trim or not.

I have a large position in MU, then MSFT and small amount of NVDA, GOOG and AMZN

MSFT has been the laggard for me but hopefully due for a bounce

META and MSFT are at lick smacking entry points….waiting for another dip in overall market to go all in

take a look at $GDC (GD Culture Group Limited).

seems to be a lot of skullduggery on this stock.

They claim (backed up by SEC filings) to hold 7500 BTC (value of c 600m USD). They have 60m shares in issue, which would value the shares at ~ USD 10 each. There is a non binding offer to take them private at USD 10.75 /share. Since then the share price has collapsed over a couple of days from USD 8 to USD 0.14

Now there are other issues in play here too:
Board has an ATM approval to issue shares to raise up to USD 300m (not a set number of shares)- this equates to about 2.1bn new shares. Even if they issue this number of shares total would be 2.2bn. So stock price would be closer to 0.27/share. I've read that to issue more than 20% of shares in issue would require a shareholder vote. So, to me anyway, this would seem unlikely that they would issue so many shares.

Possibility of a squeeze. Volume has been really small, but over the past week or two a huge number of shares (500m+) have been traded - multiples of those in issue. Seems like shorts going wild. if they have to cover at any point this could drive share price wild.

for me this has a huge risk/reward profile. I'd not be surprised to see this go to zero, but if it recovers or the offer is confirmed, then there is potential for a 65x+ return.

I've bought about 12k shares at about 0.145c.

I was looking at that company. My impression was this wasn’t a legitimate company running a legitimate business, it appears to be a vehicle for manipulation.

If the buyout happens (which I don’t see) then it is contingent upon the next step being that the company delists itself from the NASDAQ and all shares liquidated at $10.75. Great if it happens because the company has no way of sustaining itself otherwise with no actual business.

Definitely agree on MSFT but cant bring myself to buy META, the product they're selling is just disgusting unusable slop these days, need to get Zuckerbergs hands off the wheel after the Metaverse disaster aswell. Reddit on the other hand will definitely be seeing a chunk of my money soon I think.

CRH has taken a dip recently, might be a good time to jump on.

    Free Palestine 🇵🇸

Offloaded some BE today. Had been sitting and sitting on it but couldn't handle not taking some profit finally. Average cost was $21. Sold today at $308. Still have plenty left to ride on it but won't feel so gutted if this pulls back in the short/medium term.

This leaves me with "cash in the bank". Tempted by $MSFT. A bit safe but safe is good and should grow steadily over the next 5-10 years. Also been looking at some nuclear plays like SMR and ABB that have and will benefit from shifts in power generation.

Wow how long have did you hold on for since you bought at $21? Sensational returns, hopefully treating yourself to something nice with those stellar profits.

I accumulated between 2021 and 2023. It was a speculative picks and shovel choice for the AI stuff that was getting attention. That and Pure Storage. Figured AI would need power and somewhere to put all the data.

No treat for me. This is the (early) retirement fund. Took some profit but I still think this is a winner over the next decade. Turning my attention to where to reinvest. Things are hot right now but I think it will run more. Just got to be careful.

    My thoughts exactly.

I've bought a chunk of rddt recently too, fancy it around these levels.

On the other end of trading decisions made in the past. I had stock from Dell (RSUs I'd built up over the years). 250 shares. Sold all but 20 a couple of years ago in order to fund a kitchen renovation. Got about 10k for them. Worth about 75k now. Not worth thinking about.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,529 ✭✭✭littlevillage

Dell up another 15% today 😂

Incidentally I had some Dell myself too and bailed out at the end of last year. Up 150% or soo since then.. 😢

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,176 ✭✭✭Bacchus

I console myself with the 20 shares I held on to 🙃 The kitchen is nice too I guess.

Nice return made on BE. I'm very late to it but have been looking at reasonably priced power generators. CEG appears to be reasonably priced and yes SMR too although they appear to be struggling. Haven't looked into them enough yet. I think BE appears is doing well because they sell on site fuel cells so up and running very quickly and don't need to be connected to the grid. Power demand will continue to grow.

I have a position in MSFT since January but it has gone sideways. I'm keeping an eye on NOW too, starting to move a bit. I've seen AI related stocks shoot up while these go sideways so maybe better off stick with the AI tailwind

Bought blackberry stock in January 25 , dead for 15 months and then boom, 150% in 2 months

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,542 ✭✭✭✭Thargor

What made you buy that with so many other tempting targets back then?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 610 ✭✭✭1373

Firstly BB don't do phones anymore. They supply driving assist systems to car manufacturers worldwide ( bb are in 275 million cars ) BMW use Blackberry. They also supply secure communications t the US government. So I bought them as a turnaround story. Blackberry are also involved in robotics. It's been fairly volatile but last earnings were good
