Real bottom of the barrel stuff from you the last couple of days. Just be honest and admit that you spend your time searching for bad news stories around Ukraine and any way to paint Russia in a more positive light. Just say it. It's blindingly obvious from your posting history on this thread (all the way back from your "just trying to understand" feint at the start). It's disingenuous in the context of a genocidal war of aggression waged by a maniac whose been in power for over a quarter of a century and doesn't even try to hide the fact that he simply has his political adversaries killed in order to maintain his vice like grip on the nation. But yeah, Tucker Carlson, that noted, respected journalist of full integrity, interviewing a scorned former associate of VZ. That's the real story in all of this.

    Spare me.

we all know the response… they will run for the hills and we won't see them again until they have another utter nonsense to post claiming this is finally the "Gotcha"……

    Rinse

    Repeat

    Rinse

    Repeat…

Meanwhile in the real world, Russia are getting absolutely pummelled on the battlefield, and the Ukrainian imposed 'Death Zone' now stretches 150km behind the front line… now I'm no war logisticiologist, but I can't imagine having no safe space for at least 150km behind your front line is a good thing when trying to get men & supplies up to that front line to just hold it, never mind push on…

    https://www.reuters.com/world/china/putin-visit-china-will-take-place-very-soon-kremlin-says-2026-05-14/

Putin is off again to China cap in hand.

So Russia sells more discounted oil and resources to China, who in turn sells overpriced excess manufactured goods back to Russia, all the while China is busy re-colonising Siberia & the Russian Far-East.

Indeed this is a no-limits partnership.

Tucker Carlson - the guy who was blown away by the concept of putting a coin in a shopping trolley to unlock it, to then be able to get your coin back by re-locking the shopping trolley…

The guy who was fired by Fox News (literally the easiest gig in town)….

We're not exactly dealing with Barbara Walters levels here…

Let’s not forget him also marvelling at the freshly baked* bread section of the supermarket (a staple of most European grocery shops) and wheel-lock system for trolleys on an escalator (again…a standard Europe-wide and beyond for ages.

*(«Freshly Baked» might just be fully heated defrosted half-bakes from a factory. This is also typical in much of Europe)

And to think, some believe he should run for President.

Very true. People could die because of this interview. Even if it was all true (not) this is not the time for recriminations.

It looks like history is starting up again.

If you watch the video she says she has many inside connections.

Tucker has done some excellent videos especially around gaza. Just because people don't like a country doesn't mean they support another. Some people used to dislike both French AND English people.

No response I give will change how hundreds of thousands of lives have been lost in the war... I don't know what you expect from me. I think Zelensky is a tyrant and started feeling that way when he banned poor men from leaving.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,935 ✭✭✭zv2

Wrong. He is like someone who comes across someone who has been mugged and robbed on the street and starts to kick him while he is down. This is not the time to hang people over relatively minor corruptions, be they real or imagined. If he is really concerned about putting wrongs right he should concentrate on Russian barbarism. He is a grotesque little sh1t, not much different from the ones in the White House.

It looks like history is starting up again.

» "I think Zelensky is a tyrant and started feeling that way when he banned poor men from leaving."

    That's your personal (bizarre) opinion.

The majority of people in Ukraine still support him as their leader. He was democratically elected and follows democratic processes, even during war. They risk losing everything if they capitulate, and they all know this. No one in Ukraine wants to fight, literally no one, but their only option is to fight or to capitulate - and capitulating means losing their pretty much everything, their freedom, their ability to vote, their culture, their language, justice, everything. Everything you take for granted in your safe comfortable democratic free country - they lose, and much more.

Hence they are defending themselves. They are giving their lives so that their kids might have a future, might remain Ukrainian.

» "No response I give will change how hundreds of thousands of lives have been lost in the war"

Which is 100% the fault of Putin, who has ordered this invasion, who can stop this invasion at any time of his choosing. Which I've never seen any of your posts genuinely acknowledge.

On the contrary your posts here are the direct equivalent of blaming the Polish for being invaded by Hitler, concern-trolling their losses, whilst constantly trying to cast events as their fault.

He/she/they have succeeded in distracting from the massive attacks against civilians last night

While crying crocodile tears over in parallel threads

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,392 ✭✭✭Paddigol

Yeah, the democratically elected comedian with a popular mandate, free press, strong anti-corruption bodies, charged with defending his nation from an invading neighbour… yeah, he's the tyrant. F**k me sideways, am I really reading this, more than four years into the war that nobody but Putin wanted??

What people want from you is a bit of honesty and integrity. Both-sidesing this war of aggression isn't either of those, no matter how many disingenuous media clips to link to. Also, addressing actual counter arguments made by posters above (and on previous occasions) rather than ignoring them, repeating your contested nonsense, and then disappearing for weeks, that'd be nice, thanks.

Why would I admit something that's not true? I think I've made my point several times already, in summary I don't like Zelensky because of his flaws, you love him despite his flaws. I think Zelensky is destroying Ukraine and not behaving how a leader should in such circumstances.

If you watch the video she says she has many inside connections.

Claiming something without evidence to back up the claim does not make it so. She has no reliable connections. All of her claims have been debunked by multiple sources. Heres a good one:

    https://kyivindependent.com/ex-zelensky-spokesperson-iuliia-mendel-sparks-outrage-after-tucker-carlson-interview/

No response I give will change how hundreds of thousands of lives have been lost in the war... I don't know what you expect from me. I think Zelensky is a tyrant and started feeling that way when he banned poor men from leaving.

I expect you would actually provide a balanced view and put forward your views on Russia, as many posters have asked of you.

And so we are at the crux of the issue with your posts - You blame Zelensky and call him a tyrant yet are completely silent on Putin, who is responsible for sending "hundreds of thousands of lives" you are concerned for to invade Ukraine.

This is what is known as "cognitive dissonance".

It is the mental discomfort or psychological stress experienced when a person holds two or more contradictory beliefs, values, or attitudes, or when their behavior conflicts with their beliefs

re one of Denys Davydov’s latest posts he uses to whole of it lambasting VZ and his aledged cronies/very close friends to lambast all as very corrupt and should be ‘flatlined’ , fined , jailed, etc.

    (1)What is he at ?
he is giving ‘fuel’ to Putin and his propaganda farms to portray Ukr as a very corrupt country, have got no right to be a sovereign country, the Nazi element need to be exterminated, etc, etc.

    (2) For one who says that he is 100% pro Ukr and with the the way that the UKR have bravely fought to date , and the progress it is now making and the type of leadership that is required to keep the ‘show on the road’, I suggest that his ‘timing’ is away off and his opinions on the matter of corruption was most inappropriate BECAUSE there is an OFFICIAL BODY ‘ following up exactly what Davydov was highlighting.
    (3) Davydov is behaving as JUDGE , JURY and executioner. If there are court cases could cases be thrown out because of Davydov’s comments ? Did not the. Late Charley Haughty ‘get off’ when Mary Harley made some comment in the Dail about what Mr Haughty was being charged with

I think Zelensky is destroying Ukraine

This bizarre opinion seems to ultimately inform most of the rest of your nonsensical and honestly disgusting views. I can tell you with no holds barred that I don't know of a single social setting I, nor anyone I know, would frequent that would tolerate that kind rhetoric. It's the kind of thing you pray doesn't sit beside you on a bus.

I, and most of the civilised world think Zelensky, with a couple of small exceptions, is doing the best he can in an extremely difficult and nuanced political environment to prevent his country from being genocided by Russia. He doesn't have the luxury of being a morally perfect angel to please online cranks and critics.

It's just beyond the pale that you think Zelensky is destroying the country, and not say…….Putin, who is bombing pensioners, hospitals and kindergartens every night. Whom has written a whole Op-ed describing how the country isn't really a sovereign state.

Your opinion just isn't based in reality in any serious way. You may as well be arguing that grass isn't green.

And this is why free and open and democratic societies (take note @engineerws ) have better and more numerous drones

Russian regime more worried about suppressing internet for its population than catching up with Ukrainian innovations

Carlson shouldn't be dismissed in the same way that Joe Rogan shouldn't.

Both have enormous reach and give free reign to all sorts of extreme lunatics, from holocaust deniers, Jews/Churchill started WW2 etc.

Rogan doesn't know or care and just wants the engagement.

Carlson brings on shills who says what he wants to say in answers to his "questions".

Zekensky ticks a couple of box for the American far right; he's fighting Putin's horde and he's a "not to be trusted Jew,"

In one of the more extraordinary pivots in recent times, Carlson is so anti Semitic that he's hand waving away Islamic terrorist/jihads.

    Mendell is a useful idiot.

I don't think Carlson is one but I think he's extraordinarily dangerous. As the Trump coalition fractures and if Carlson becomes king maker Trump 2 could look like a picnic.

Horrendous overnight attack on the capital. Where is the outrage and condemnation? It was SO predictable that following the 3-day "ceasefire" the Russian barbarians would immediately launch a huge attack to make up for the days missed out on. I hope Ukraine hits back hard tonight because it's the same evil pattern over and over. But still idiots like Trump claim Zelensky is the main obstacle to peace

Belarusian provocations on the border with helicopters. Echoes of March 2022 with Russian helicopters.

They shouldn’t be dismissed, but they shouldn’t be taken seriously and their followers should be asked why they take weirdos like them seriously.

Carlson claims to have been attacked by a demon in his sleep for f**ks sake, claims not to have called Trump the anti-christ and denied it again when having been showed a clip of him saying it. That’s apart from all the blatantly opportunistic nonsense with Trump

Rogan must be one of the most gullible people on the Internet, and that’s saying something. In the last month or so he had guests on who think disabled children are psychic.

Unfortunately a lot of Irish left twitter pumps out these unsavoury views while doing crocodile tears by talking about 'peace' and some just come outright with Pro-Russia talking points while pretending to be 'left'.

Something has to be done because I'm frankly tired of this nonsense and don't want it to be run by cranks and misfits.

Unfortunately yes they can be this fcuked up in their thinking. I know one like this, very intelligent but a complete and utter blind spot with regard to this war. Why I have no idea.
