Dreadful news about Jordan ,no doubt he can bounce back, gonna be a big loss, been one of our most consistent players over last 2 years.

That Could mean Kenny possibly back to Midfield with Doyle and I'd love to See Eoin Cody back Centre Forward now. What do lads think of this??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22 Give it to tj

Cody started centre anyway Sunday kenny started at 10 and liam moore was inside after about 25 mins cody went inside and tj came out to the wing,I wouldn't be suprised to see doyle and mullen midfield kenny cody and phelan half forwards and moore tj mossy ff line against dublin as for this weekend possibly could see stephen donnelly in the corner liam moore on the wing and kenny midfield, Molloy will be a huge loss to us and oloughlans.

winning games full stop, aswell being very personal against young men who do their best on and off the field, you always just come across happier on here when we not winning as after any loss you're almost the 1st on here to kick the boot in. I know you seem mad for an All Ireland, we all are, but unfortunately there not easily won.

You are right about one thing - ye did lose a lot of games down though the years...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 659 ✭✭✭jamesbond2022

Mickey Walsh had it that molloy left the game in a boot

You wouldn’t be wearing a boot after doing your cruciate that would point to an ankle or foot injury

I don't agree with a lot of what marrooned says but I'd say he is one of our best supporters . Anyone who travels the country supporting our teams at all grades deserves nothing but praise. Its clear you have issues with this poster but that's an unfair accusation.

Heard ACL as well. Big loss, very unlucky for Kilkenny, Jordan and for O'Loughlins.

I wouldn't go too much on the KCLR podcast. You had Eddie Scally yesterday admitting he didn't even go to the match as it's too far away. He was commenting on Tipp/Cork a few weeks ago and then admitted he didn't see all of it as he was watching Leeds instead. Eddie can do what he wants obviously but maybe get someone on who has an interest in going to the games, or will at least watch them on TV!

In fairness to Mikey Walsh he would give you pause for thought after a depressing Sunday. He made the point that we know we have good players but some are just not performing. Whatever the reason is, class is permanent, form is temporary. We can't have gone from being a whisker from beating the All Ireland champions last July, to no hopers now, even if results this year points to that fact. As I said we were architects of our downfall on Sunday missing over 70% of our frees and 3 clear goal chances

I'll still hold out serious optimism that we can beat Kildare and Dublin. If we face Galway in a final then, we certainly won't do so without plenty of hope.

Wow that's a balls. For himself and club it's a huge loss. Knee i presume ?

Best of luck to the 20's tomorrow night. Very big game against the Dubs. Changes to the 15 again, with Evan Murphy unlucky not to start I thought. Looked to me like he was hurling well. Maybe it's the optimist in me but I think the 20's are starting to move well. Injuries have cleared up and it would be great to get a crack at Galway in the final. Match seems to be not on TV or streamed which is a real shame as most won't travel to Dublin on a weekday.

If we win tomorrow we have 4 huge games in 8 days. Seniors v Kildare Saturday, followed by Leinster Finals at Minor and 20 on Monday and Wednesday, and finally a Senior Leinster semi Final v the Dubs on Sunday 23rd. Win the Senior and even one of those underage finals, preferably the 20's given the importance to senior panel in the short term, and things will look far brighter than they do right now. Big ask for all 3 teams but far from impossible.

We sure did and now ye know the feeling. And the prospects of it changing for ye is becoming increasingly poor.

Good news is you can watch the match on tg4s YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/live/TB3o3LNAfbI?si=0zu7h35Yguq2YeeB

It's great to have this service from tg4, as someone living abroad they're an absolute godsend

Marooned is as outstanding poster on this forum IMO. Informative, opinionated and open to debate and above all a loyal supporter to all KK teams.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,584 ✭✭✭✭Realt Dearg Sec

What's your fcukin problem? Normally would support Clare against any team they're playing with the exception of kk, but if there's many more with your attitude (and keeping in mind nobody asked you to come here to act the mick) I wish ye all the success you're accustomed to.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,277 ✭✭✭Glenomra

Relax! It's only a bit if banter. We are well used to receiving a bit of tormenting. Maybe all your success has left you a bit thin skinned. It's only a game!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,039 ✭✭✭Nickindublin

I listened to some of it too. He is right we didnt become a bad team overnight but there is something a miss and its not the 2 players that have travelled and its not the ref. Too many players not performing at the required level and the question has to be asked is why?

Also made an interesting comment re us conceding the puck out again and he cant understand why except to protect the goal and that we have 3 big men in the HB line. He has a point there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 171 ✭✭jonniegoogle

The referees sleeve reads "give respect, get respect"…..does it work both ways?

In fairness there's a few fierce bad refs out there and by bad I mean inconsistent. I don't think any of them are under too much pressure from players/management, it's like Ben O Conner referenced the referees examiner up in the stand could be a huge problem.

Loyalty is non negotiable, he should look it up. We all go to matches week in and week out , and don't feel the need to trumpet it here or anywhere else. Anyone believing we are better off out of a competition while still with a live shout in it is hardly the type of supporter we need. That goes for all our teams. You are entitled to stand with him if you wish, I will hopefully be at the other side of the ground. Enough said on that, back to the hurling, terrible on Jordan, he was on crutches after the game and his loss leaves a large void. Good luck to him in his recovery. Thomastown man told me Sunday J. Donnelly has a mini fracture of the elbow and not without hope of being available for Dublin game or later if we progress. Our backs are to the wall and same can be said for minors and 20s ,but as I already stated we have three teams still with realistic hopes in Leinster that need our support.

True, I might be a bit on edge after last weekend...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,128 ✭✭✭Marrooned

you seem to be targeting me with all your venom I don’t be slating players constantly, in fact I rarely bring them in to the conversation.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,817 ✭✭✭Charlie69

You still came on here being smart because you saw an opportunity to land a cheap shot … it’s childish and there’s no need for it. That kind of point scoring shite spoils these threads tbh. I also have family in Ennis and Clare would be my Munster team if you like and I never knew there to be any animosity between our counties so I don’t know where you’re coming from.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,277 ✭✭✭Glenomra

Fair enough!. Its a hurling forum and I read, for my sins, all the relevant county forums. As a matter of interest, ye are more likely to win yere 37th senior title before we win our 7th but that won't stop us keeping an eye on ye down there!

Is it just players and management who you feel are not vocal on this? I've never known Kilkenny fans to be timid in voicing their complaints about referees.

I'm also not sure I can recall many decisive calls against Kilkenny in recent years? Regarding the weekend, I think management is right to be introspective on what the issues are because the performance levels have dropped this year from the outset.

*Just spotted the scoreboard issue mentioned. Hardly going to have any impact on how Kilkenny are refereed??

How do ye fancy yere 20's chances tomorrow? Very impressed with them last week against Cork. I had Cork, Galway, Tipp as 3 strongest, notwithstanding ye won the Minor equivalent. Although I believe only 7 of that team is still starting?

I am both looking forward to it and very confident of winning. The team are very determined, well coached and play a fast style of hurling. Getting to the final through victory over Cork in Pairc ui Chaoimh was somewhat unexpected and gives Clare an unexpected but welcome chance of winning a provincial title. The Tipp manager, Brendan Cummins, generally plays a cautious, defensive style of hurling. The Gaelic Grounds is an ideal venue for Clare supporters. Anyway, if we happen to lose it will be the Referee's fault!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wouldn't all that confident it will be Galway in the U20 final. We have four players deemed senior in that panel: Rabbitte, Niland, Cullen Killeen and Murphy. Two on the bench and two not on the 26 (Niland and Murphy) missing near a third of your team is one thing, them being all your seniors is an entirely more difficult prospect.
