Has anyone recently applied for a section 42 deer cull licence recently, my application seems to be taking a very long time? Previous applications have been reasonably quick.

I submitted one today. The NPWS have changed the previous system. What's required now if for the landowner to sign a S42 Statement of Consent, once you have that you as the stalker then make the application on the NPWS Portal for serious damage permit applications. I struggled to submit a return for a S42 for last season. So we'll see how the NPWS address the application.

We applied over 7 weeks ago, using the old system.

There were a few fits and starts and the process is more than a little pedantic, I received the licence within two and a half weeks. So no complaint!😊
