Bus on the way home from work, printed out another huge batch of student work to mark. Joy of joys!

Managed to do a painting from home last night - Lillies & Tulips in a Vase No.1, based on the flowers my OH got for me on Sunday. 💕💐 🎨 🖼

Curious ... I know a few of you mention the dentist from time to time.. my guy retired. Went to new guy today.. Check up. Literally was on the recliner at max 90 seconds. He blew some gas around and said I need a filling. He offered it there and then, I said I wasn't mentally prepared today, I'll book in.

Was I short changed on the check up? Like there was no consultation with an assistant to map my mouth like the old guy did, no scraping between teeth, no removal of plaque. I know he has a separate hygienist there who does a clean but it felt so short.

    Thankfully my PRSI covered it.

I wouldn't be happy - are you going to the same place just a different dentist? First thing on the list for new client is generally x ray at least

The 'big' shop is done, now for chop chop central salad time

Thanks for replying Grem. No a different practice. Old guy was solo. Old guy used to have an assistant and he'd map and record my teeth with her. More poking. More consulting.

I booked a check up, I claimed a check up on my PRSI (yesterday). I'm just wondering what a check up constitutes? If I go back to him for the filling he recommended, will he do the extra work I expected yesterday then or is a 90 second look what is normal now?

    @thomil where are you?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 5,262 ✭✭✭thomil

    Hiya everyone!

    Thanks, so much, Sinead 😊

Just clawing my way out of a bit of a hole. Flare-up combined with a mental health crash is not a fun combination, I can tell you that! But at this point, it'll take more than some unruly leukocytes to take me down! Still feeling guilty about derailing Gru's MSPaint game though…

Still alive over here @smurfjed! In the infusion unit at CUH currently, got my first treatment for MS today, and I'm just waiting to be released from the observation period. Next one is due in six months. Hopefully, things start looking up from now on…

Good luck trying to figure me out. I haven't managed that myself yet!

Good to hear from you, friend. I hope you are well looked after in the hospital..should we try smuggle some moon shine in to you??

No need to smuggle anything, but thanks for the offer 😁 It was just a three hour stay in the infusion unit, only twenty minutes were actually needed for the infusion. On my way home now, so all is good. No allergic reactions and, sadly, no super powers either...

Good luck trying to figure me out. I haven't managed that myself yet!

Great to hear from you Thomil 🤗 You’ve absolutely nothing to apologise for. Starting treatment is a big deal, and it sounds like you’ve got much more important things to focus on right now. I hope today went as smoothly as possible and that the treatment helps you feel stronger with time 🩵

If you’re feeling up to it over the next few days, hopefully you can join the reveal. You're still part of the game with, or without a drawing ☺️

    Take care of yourself.

@thomil - glad to see you surface here. 😊 I admit that I was getting a little worried too.

Sofaside after another very busy day, watching a replay of the Eurovision semi-final that was on yesterday. Feeling a little guilty as Ireland is boycotting the event which I fully agree with. Most of the songs are forgettable dirge, but it's all about the spectacle. 📺 🎶 🎉🎉👨‍👩‍👦‍👦✨️🎆

Who bumped you down to cattle class, smurfjed?

Homeside here on my second coffee. About to head off to my GP to talk, well, mostly admin stuff. Feeling surprisingly chipper over here despite not sleeping for too long yet again. Not sure if it's an effect of the therapy (I doubt it) or whatever pills they dosed me with prior to the infusion. Either way, I'll take it…

Good luck trying to figure me out. I haven't managed that myself yet!

Back Homeside here after a successful GP visit, a nice writing date in my local café, and getting some much needed admin work out of the way. Chillin’ in the living room now, having a decaf nightcap and finishing up my daily journal entry.

Good luck trying to figure me out. I haven't managed that myself yet!

Bed for a bit, going to be a lot of shuffling about in a few hours, hopefully the buses I need behave

@thomil "Who bumped you down to cattle class, smurfjed?" Definitely need to get on to my union :):) Unfortunately we always travel cattle class much to the amusement of other passengers, it's only if other seats are empty that we get to switch.

Hitting 40c, so a lot of classics are kept at home.

Which colour would you go for? Me black.

Now moved to vans, limited route structure but free. The taxi driver profession is doomed when these become mainstream

Happy Friday 😊 ( now don't ask me what's happy about it, but hey, positive thinking and all that) ☺️

Friday is always happy 😁, given that for most of us, it means two days of not having to deal with work BS (or in my case, two days without the potential for bad news!)

Homeside here, feeling strangely energised. Not sure how I’m going to use that energy for, but at least I have it…

Who do I need to talk to to get you into the seats you deserve, smurfjed? 😉

Good luck trying to figure me out. I haven't managed that myself yet!

    Quiet in here…

Homeside here, just after finishing the morning chores. Feeling surprisingly good once again. Not sure if it's the therapy drug kicking in or something else, but I won't complain, that's for sure 😀

Good luck trying to figure me out. I haven't managed that myself yet!

Watching that much needed rain falling. I can almost see the vegetables growing, having suffered dry windy weather for the last month. I wish we didn't go from floods to drought so dramatically. An odd day of showers would be perfect.

Went for lunch in this hotel at 1230, bumped into an chatted to so many people that it took me 7 hours to get back to my room.

Working in the morning so will end up at home, vacation starting on Thursday.
