DDs jab is as much a defensive great shot as offensive

DDs has been setting a really good offensive pace

    Foster had to stop it.

Incredible fight, and serious character shown by Dubois to recompose himself after those early knockdowns.

As said above his fitness was excellent as well.

Ref the only man thinking of livelihood tonight. That was reckless

Wardley corner should be ashamed of themselves. He could barely stand or see for about 3 rounds there. Taking haymakers off a big puncher like Dubois.

Maybe George Groves will understand Foster’s call now!!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 61,037 ✭✭✭✭walshb

The amount of punches that DDs jab saved him from!!!

My original prediction was right but Wardley is even tougher than i thought.

Why slip a right hand when you can just land a thudding jab instead !

I must admit that fight gave me very mixed feelings. Incredible fight, and incredibly exciting, but the guilty part of feeling like Wardley's corner went too far in how much they were willing to risk his well-being.

For anyone who's familiar with CTE and it's effects later in life, it was probably in their mind late in that fight, every time Dubois landed a solid shot.

I really feel like the HW division has moved on. I really don't care about the like of Fury, AJ or Wilder now. It's all about Itauma, Dubois, Kabayel, Wardley etc now.

Wardley has an incredible chin on him and his desire to fight was amazing.
But if I'm honest, that fight should have been stopped 2 rounds earlier.
The ref and the doctor who checked Wardley's eye when the lad wobbled out of his corner at the start of the 9th were totally wrong to let him continue IMO.

Great fight and one that certainly evokes Rocky and the Hagler V Hearns era.
But I fear Wardley took a lot of damage there, that will affect him for quite a while.

That was something else but wardley should have been saved from himself that went on a couple of rounds too long at least.

Yeah I kind of get what you're saying there. It was a brilliant flight but towards the end it was getting uncomfortable with the state Wardley was in.

His chin is incredible. No idea how he can take those shots and not go down. Is he in the conversation for best chin of all time in HW division?
