Yeah, that's the thing that worries me most. There are no patterns of play. When players have a script to work from they instantly look better. It's why I'll hold out some hope for Kerkez, Frimpong and Wirtz. But it doesn't look like things are going to develop any further under Slot.

It's easy to forget because it was 2 hours ago, but we went a goal up, and had the chance to use Anfield, get the energy up, put the pressure on and get ourselves into a team that is an absolute shambles.

    But we retreated.

And that is what our fraud of a boss has done to this team.

It's so unusual and quite sad to hear it at Anfield, but we were putrid. Terrible.

I don't think Frimpong is anything more than squad filler. Which is fine.

However, I'm bullish about Wirtz and Isak in particular. I think you'll see fireworks in a competent structure. I'm also far more hopeful about Kerkez than I was at the start of the season.

The supporters are the only ones who can end this now. If they continue to voice their displeasure, it becomes untenable.

The trend of this team is so obviously and alarmingly downwards that I don't know why there's even a pretence that Slot stays for next season. If FSG are as data driven as they claim it must be painting one hell of an issue for Slots performance.

Get rid the second the last whistle ends this season.

Comprehensively outplayed and fought at home by the team in the worst form in the league

I get injuries , squad rebuild etc , but we are still putting out teams better than this toxic negative football , that all on the manager

The higher ups have to get rid of the sunk cost fallacy in sticking with him , i have never been more sure that a manager cannot turn it around than Slot .

Decent for the first 10 minutes, not much else to write home about apart from that.

Be disappointed but it’s disgusting to see someone call our league winning manager a fraud - it’s more annoying reading this than the result today.

Hope the rest of the trip is better than the game!

You aren’t a supporter for even thinking it.

Was it as bad as the comments on here?never got a chance to see any of the game maybe thankfully looking at comment but im not surprised to see the comments,as its been rinse and repeat for most if not all of the season

Honestly anyone is better than Frimpong. Jones had a good game

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,098 ✭✭✭happyoutscan

You're not qualified to say that, regardless of how knowledgeable you believe your self to be.

As an Uber-fan, what did you make of today?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,098 ✭✭✭happyoutscan

I called him a fraud a good few weeks back and was lambasted for it.

Glad to see it's quite obvious at this stage.

    View from the stands..…

Christ, that was rancid. Early goal to lift the spirits and to energise the team, but no, we dropped deeper and deeper, inviting them on to us until they inevitably scored. I'm not quite sure what the directive was to Macca and Gravenberch but they were poor in and out of possession.

Structurally it was a baffling set up. Jones at RB, yet he was given licence to roam, meaning Cucurella got in behind on a number of occasions. Gakpo as a centre forward? Jesus wept, what exactly was the intention here and when he hadn't touched the ball once inside the opening 40 minutes, how can you leave it unchanged?

We are so so poorly coached. Structurally it's impossible to see how the set up is designed to get the best out of any of them - Frimpong at right wing? If anyone figures out what the point of Frimpong is, answers on a postcard please.

As for the players, Jesus, the technical ability seems to have disappeared. Our bloody goalkeeper - sure he made a couple of decent saves - is useless when it comes to reading the game or releasing it at the right time. That 'throw' to the left wing in injury time? Embarrassing. He also haplessly punted the ball to a forward line where we had no forwards.

Taking Rio off and leaving Gakpo on seemed the move of a man wanting to be sacked. Absolutely illogical. I am so worried about this team and the direction we're headed under this coach. The team has no identity, no identifiable structure, no nous, no killer instinct.

For those on the fence about Slot, you cannot watch this game and think all will be well. Chelsea came on the back of a six game losing run and we rolled over for them like we did with Spurs earlier in the season.

We are an awful football team coached by a man who has absolutely no clue what he's doing any more. Two games of this **** left.

Rio Ngmoha was taken off due to cramping, according to Slot.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 37,502 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

He's the same as Brendan Rodgers. The exact same level of manager.

Both managed us in seasons where we were carried by the Ballon d'Or worthy attacking prowess of the best player in the League. Rodgers just happened to be pipped by City. Slot wasn't because no team kept up with us at the start. But we were awful by March because Salah tailed off.

So if you think Rodgers wasn't good enough, I'm afraid I put Slot in the same bucket.

I used to try and pinpoint where things were wrong, but there's so little right these days it's pointless. It's an utter omni-shambles. Imagine being out-coached by a fella who doesn't even have coaching badges. A team that had just previously lost heavily to a 2nd string Forest. A team that had lost 6 on the bounce. And he has the nerve to talk about standards on the pitch versus in the gym, throwing shade at Mo.

I was thinking when was the last time a Liverpool team was boo'd off the pitch (did it happen during Klopps time?)

2 days later, Brendan was gone and Klopp arrived.

Just get Alonso in over the summer, can't be any worse than Slot and will at least give us a bit of hope for next season. Alonso might not work out, but, worth a try, rather than watch the car crash in slow motion that next season would be if Slot stays on!

Never mind today or anything else for that matter there is no scenario where wishing missing out on champs league is the right thing to say, none whatsoever.

Bournemouth 1 nil up away to Fulham, means they are just 4 points behind. We need that win, where's it coming from?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,171 ✭✭✭Bacchus

They have City next and Forrest away on the last day. 4 points would still have them behind us on GD. They need two wins. Not impossible but I wouldn't bet on it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,553 ✭✭✭mosstin

The fact that we're looking over our shoulder and wondering what **** Bournemouth do......

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 893 ✭✭✭FernandoTorres

Hard to see any way back at this stage. The body language from everyone is horrendous. We've been outfought by most teams this season but this Chelsea team at Anfield is pretty unforgivable. Not sure Alonso is the answer. Would be nice if PSG win the CL and Enrique fancies a new project!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,768 ✭✭✭Girly Gal

We really need at least a point against Villa or we could miss out on CL which would be an unmitigated disaster. Hopefully Villa are totally focused on the Europa final and aren't bothered when they play us

I don't fancy our chances if we need anything against Brentford as the one thing they will be is up for a battle, something out lot aren't able for. We probably need City to take points off Brentford and Bournemouth as well. Can't wait for this season to be over, it's been horrendously bad from start to finish
