Absolutely shocking first half from Bohs. No ideas, confidence shot. Lucky to be only 1-0 down.

An enjoyable game at EDP in spite of the loss. We gifted Rovers two first half goals and couldn't get into it. But we had a great second half and could have easily had 3 if not for a super save and a couple of great blocks and clearances from Rovers defenders.

Considering we were missing 3 of our back 4 we did well against comfortably the best team in the league.

Terrific defensive display from us in United Park. I can't say that we deserved to win and it was always going to be a set piece that we'd score from.

Our keeper was excellent making a great double save and Derry had a rocket come off the bar.

Derry owned the ball but lacked a cutting edge. They seem to lack a leader to drive them on?

A great night other than a few (not many) of our "fans" booing Darragh Markey. Disgraceful given his service to us. He got good applause when he was subbed though.

Also, fewest away supporters from Derry that I have seen in a long time in Drogheda. Can't have been more than 40 in the away end.

Yeah we should have been more than 1 up at h/t. Horgan going off at h/t and the penalty and sending off changed the game. Bohs much better team in the second half. Some very strange decisions by the ref too.

Shels league winning away form balanced out nicely by our relegation form at home

can’t quite believe those home stats wow. Seems like ye deserved to win tonight tho,if the live score stats are worth much?

First half played really well, should of scored , at least one great save.

Second half dire for 30 mins and final 15 made a slightly better push. Rovers had game dissalowed , didn’t see replay so haven’t a clue if it was offside or not.

Been very regular performance for shels, actually reminded me of Drogheda game where we were 2 up at HT but lost 4-3. It’s happening over and over again. I think we will click one day and hammer somebody but it’s beginning to look like our home form will have us in mid table nothing.

Hope we get just away draws in FAI cup

Looked onside from that angle alright. Not many games go by where at least one big call is wrong.

I don’t know how Joey has failed to win all 8 home games and is still in a job. Crazy.

Yeh, you’d wonder how bad it can get before they pull the trigger. Maybe no ideal candidates in mind so no appetite ?

There’s glimpses of real quality in the team and dare I say Jarvis might be looking like he’s starting to find his feet ? Lots of our injured lads behind me in drumcondra stand , it’s really hard to square how bad we can play at times.

I see there was 1000 less at game tonight then at Drogs game, that will prob force the club to act as it’s harder to retain and grow fanbase when you aren’t winning at home.

The Bone tackle on Kavanagh may have been an even worse call even though it didn't impact the final score. Absolutely cleaned him out right in front of the ref and he plays on 😂

I’m not going to comment on the rights or wrongs on a particular decision but I don’t think I’ve ever been at a game before that the ref let flow as much as tonight. Very few frees. A few bookings late on, but I thought he reffed it well

There were next to no foul-worthy challenges all night apart from the one/two tactical ones. Still the odd baffling decision though but that's standard. If the assistant hadn't ruled out a legitimate goal you could probably have given them an 8/10 performance-wise.

are they trying to turn tolka into a beach with the amount of sand on the pitch?

Pats are scoring goals for fun, even without melia. Leavy is a joy to watch but is going to get rough treatment because of his style of play. Hard to see them keeping up with rovers though.

Waterford look gone already. Hard to see even where a win comes from.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,185 ✭✭✭✭ben.schlomo

Ya Leavy is a super little player, very hard to defend against when he's on it. Pats, for me, will drop the kind of points that Rovers won't.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,830 ✭✭✭Ferris_Bueller

Pats not having Europe will be a big help to them, they are the only other team that could make this into a semblance of a title race. Funnily they were fairly poor the both times we've played them, they will need to beat Rovers at least once if they want to really contend.

Thought Victor was brilliant again last night, he is getting noticeably better every week, it makes me wonder how good the lad will become..

I don't think we deserved to win the game either. We have been terrible, and it says a lot that that was probably our best performance this season. Simply not good enough.

Although I do think the shot off the bar crossed the line.

The apathy among the fans at present has reached new highs.

    Lynch is killing all support.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 37,352 ✭✭✭✭NIMAN

We are 4 wins in 16.

    Waterford play us next Friday.

Good chance of a victory there!

I'm not sure if you were at the game? I was more or less in line with the goal on the home terrace and the ball definitely bounced out. It was quite clear and the linesman was close also.

    Hell of a shot though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 1,652 ✭✭✭Dogsdodogsstuff

I thought game had stopped , even players looked like it was gonna be blown. I had presumed it had to be a great tackle 😂

There was also one or two sideline clearances from shels that looked very close to being out (admittedly I didn’t have exact direct line view as linesman). I can understand if some Sligo fans went home frustrated.
