Cardiff will be the ones to miss out on the top 8....

    Take that to the bank.

Criticising the poster’s prediction track record to be clear!

A pretty brutal clean out, especially Lasisi and Dowling. Obviously we're not privy to their medical reports but the only long term injury to be re-signed was Ralston. Do we need another outside back more than we need another lock?

Anyway, just my thruppence. Lancaster decides and has earned our trust. I'm sure he has a plan.

Good luck to all those leaving. And Mattie? Come back soon.

11 out is pretty standard, just looks bad because only 5 out last year. If you want brutal 15 left after Wilkins' first season (which may have played into him losing the dressing room). Three seasons before that were 11, 11 ,10 out.

Completely agree about the lock numbers, we've gone from 5 1/2 to 4.

Definitely helps that both the Stormers and Warriors are duking it out for #1 seed in the last round and happen to be playing two of our playoff spot rivals in Cardiff and Ulster.

Why Ioane? I think he cannot read the wind in Galway. And Gilbert must not kick the ball which knock into opponents unwillingly.

Would be shocked if they go with those 4 lock forwards for next season. And one of them is only a makeshift lock really in Murphy. There must be someone due to arrive. Could be wrong but can't imagine they go into next season with only those 4 options.

I would expect neither will be guaranteed top 2 next week. Both are playing on Friday with the Lions and Leinster out on Saturday. At least 1 of them could pip either of Glasgow or Stormers.

everyone is self motivated to do us favours ……….. except Zebre, and that could be telling in their match.

So after last night's results even if we get a bonus point win today we'll still be in 9th

Cardiff and Ulster are shouting STOP THE COUNT.

On top of their injuries Ulster will be down Henderson after the red.

It's knock out rugby for connacht from here on in.

    Lose today and you're out.

Get nothing from next weekend and you're out.

Bulls will be up to 3rd in a few hours time, leaving 6 points minimum required for connacht to achieve in the next two games, and even at that it may not be enough.

I predict connacht will need minimum of 8 points from the last two games to make the play offs

There are a lot of possible permutations, but it does look like Connacht v Munster could be a knockout match for Connacht.

Munster have to treat it like a knockout match too, need 4 points to get clear of Connacht’s possible reach.

The table is so tight that a bonus point here or there could make a big difference over the final two rounds.

If Connacht got 5 points and Munster got 2 points out of today I think both would be reasonably happy going into the final round.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,000 ✭✭✭b.gud

As a Connacht fan I'd be pretty happy with that. Obviously the ideal result for Connacht would be 5 points to 0 since Munster are technically within our reach. However realistically giving the fixtures I see Cardiff and Ulster as the more likely ones that we have a chance of pushing out of the top 8.

They did well minus Henderson and were in a winning position except for the last play.

Yeah, it’s really ramping up the pressure on tonight’s match, I think both sets of fans are going to be desperate for a win.

Great that we have such an intriguing lead in to the knockouts.

I actually think it would be cool if Connacht won 5-0, the final round would be really down to the wire then, in terms of excitement it would be great for the league.

We need Leinster to smash Lions this evening too ideally!

just spotted, that next Friday, Cardiff, Ulster and Coonacht are all playing at the same time, all 7:45 kick-offs.

There could be some very interesting final plays in those games depending how each of the other matches are going!

They did well to be so competitive throughout, I didn't expect it to be close at all.

Both teams will think they left it behind them and were hard done by in sone way.

Roos' madness, Fourie's injury for the Stormers, a few tight penalty calls either way for Ulster.

In the end I think a draw was fair. However Ulster are missing a lot of players for a humming fully motivated Glasgow team next week. Could be another cracker!

As you say this is still a critism of the poster. To get out of this I would appreciate a full breakdown of this criticism, one year will do. before I will consider this matter closed

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,456 ✭✭✭FtD v2

Give me some time next week and I’d say this could be accommodated.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,806 ✭✭✭ElisaAtWar

On a more serious note can someone explain how placing work if teams are on the same points. Is it number of wins. followed by points difference. followed by bonus points or how exactly does it work

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,878 ✭✭✭realhorrorshow

    a) League points

    b) Matches won

    c) Points difference

    d) Tries scored

    e) Points scored

    f) Try difference

    g) Players suspended

    h) Yellow cards

    i) Coin toss

So that means we have to win our two games to pass Cardiff and Ulster as we would lose tie break with 6 points assuming they pick up nothing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,000 ✭✭✭b.gud

If you're looking for good omens the Connacht juniors beat Munster juniors 22 - 17.

This is their 2nd win after beating Leinster 2 weeks ago

I was at it, just home. 3-0 down at halftime against the wind. The 15 for Munster is a great player, everything he did and his reading of the game. I believe he's with a club that got relegated, AIL teams could do worse than give him a go.

For our own lads Dylan Keane was excellent and Bryan Walsh had another great game.

I spoke with Bryan afterwards and told him he was brilliant, my own clubman Xavier came over then and he asked me how I knew him and I said he plays for my club Creggs and he told me he's joining us next season. A great addition for us.

Four of them were heading to the Dexcom. I'd say they would be close now as I left when they were heading to the dressing room and I'm home about 20 minutes and I've about 40 minutes more to drive. They are going back on a bus.

And just to add, the Blaskets is a tough trip. From where you get off the boat everything is uphill. I did it for my young man, he got to see Dolphins, Seals and a Shark. He told mammy when he got in the door that I'm the best daddy in the world. He loves his rugby.
