After this morning's performance I'd have to agree. Fainga'anuku was absolutely outstanding.

that line break he made where he burst through a face on double tackle and then past a front row forward was simply ridiculous

Reds vs Chiefs at Suncorp ends

    Reds 21 Chiefs 31

A Titanic struggle at times (but mainly because the Titanic sank)

Festival rugby, but only if your festival was rained out.

One of the poorest officiating performance you're ever likely to see, but the Chiefs were worthy winners.

Went thru a phase of watching league when I was a kid. Gets really repetitive after a while. It’s also a game that is basically restricted to Australia, the Polynesian working class suburbs of NZ and England around hull, sale etc. It will never take off elsewhere.

I’m not disappointed by the new Chch stadium. My prediction is Auckland will get jealous and finally build a new stadium in Auckland.

The team for Moana pasifikas last every home game.

I can't see them being "white knighted" before next season restarts.

Moana win their last ever game

was it a failed experiment? Who paid for Moana WR? or NZRU?

I don't think Moana did much to improve on island development in Samoa/Tonga really?

NRL really looking to take over in urban Auckland especially amongst the pacific population

Saw some rumours over the weekend there is the possibility of a last minute reprieve for Moana, as some parties are still trying to pull together some rescue financing.

with $8.2 million in debt i highly doubt there will any reprieve

while players and coaching staff were also listed amongst the creditors, NZRU stepped in to pay staff until the end of the season.

the club was officially liquidated in may

Hurricanes put Brumbies to the sword. I think the playoff should stick to 4 teams instead of 6 in the current format

nah they should just go back to the barrage style that they had, instead of this stupid "leading loser" format.

still have 6 teams make the play offs, 5 games in the barrage play-offs.. compared to the 6 in the "leading loser" method.

the only competitive game in the QFs will be the crusaders / blues game tomorrow…..whereas in the old system when 3 played 6 and 4 played 5 they tended to be much closer games.

Australian teams' performances so far in Super Pacific doesn't bode well for national teams chances in Nations Championship.

i think their first choice 15/23 are decent enough, but their depth is poor. If they go beyond 1st choice in some key positions they are severely weak.

needing to cap an all black reject is never a good look either.

Really bad head injury for Sititi during the Chiefs Reds game

It is the most nonsensical knock out format i have ever come across....

The Aussies get their arses handed to them....the blues lose but still end up in a semi final....

We basically end up with what would have been there if you had a normal top 4 playoff system....

    Basketball scorelines....

    Rugby Union is in trouble.

Chiefs thump Crusaders (for a change) in the 1st Semi Final

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,189 ✭✭✭Digifriendly

Have Crusaders ever conceded 40+ points in a first half?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,220 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Hurricanes hammering Blues. Should be a good final against Chiefs

138 points between the two semi finals.

Wonder what kind of scoring we'll see in the final

The pace of the game in Super Rugby is something else, always seem to have fast guys coming out of their ears. Some fabulous counter attacking play on display, love the willingness to have a cut from deep.

Jordie was top class this morning too.

bookies have the Canes as 5 point favourites for this.

I think they will exceed that

Only caught up on the SFs over the last couple of days. Wtf happened to Crusaders?! I don't think I've ever seen them take that much of a hiding. Chiefs were pulling them apart for fun.

Can't see past a convincing win in the final for the Canes though.

Helter-skelter stuff in the final so far, in what looks like pretty tricky conditions.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,551 ✭✭✭clsmooth

Hurricanes would have seen a yellow in NH for that deliberate knock on

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,220 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

    Looks game over

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,279 ✭✭✭TheRona

Missed that, only saw an unintentional one in a tackle?

Canes taking all of their chances, score not really a reflection of the game so far.

  • Subscribers, Paid Member Posts: 45,448 ✭✭✭✭sydthebeat

Absolutely insane try scoring records from the two canes wingers.

This game was over after 20 minutes

Wow. The Canes are just lethal in attack. The handling in these conditions is impressive.
