From On the Pigs Back, English Market, Cork City.

Bread, pate, pizza slice for €5

OMG, I do not like pate, at all, but this stuff is amazing. Never had anything like it. Would it be duck pate?

    Lovely bread too, toasted.

The James Whelan offers never seem to be available, even if I open the notification immediately.

On the Pigs Back do a lovely chicken liver paté and a nice duck liver paté.

Same, I've given up on it and don't bother clicking anymore when I get an notification... You can check the time they've been sold out at the top.

I am over this app now as nothing on it anymore in Limerick and last few experiences I have had have been sh*t.

The Aldi I go to not sure are they using it anymore as rarely has Surprise Bags now and think they are more pushing 50% off stuff.

Also James Whelan at the wkend got a bag at 18:19 when it said to check back. 3 bags were available (gone within 1 min) went in the next day and had been cancelled that morning but only notification I got was via email, James Whelan blamed TGTG and opened a case with them straight away (Sunday) but nothing back from them yet. Would James Whelan not know how much stock they needed to get rid of the night before and not make 3 bags available rather than cancelling that morning?? Either way pissed off with whole process as travelled around 20km to pick it up, was in Limerick anyway but set up the day around it.

On an aside fella in James Whelan said they are trying to set up their own app for food waste and they aren't too far away so imagine they will be dropping off TGTG in the near future!!

I think it might have been duck pate that I got in the post above, and it was very good indeed!

Anyone ever get a bag from Fresh Grand Canal?

Yeach, I did about two years ago. Can't remember exactly what was in it. Definitely a fish pie. Possibly bread. Also olives, fresh pesto, that kind of thing.

Im convinced either people have written scripts to buy them immediately or else a staff member is texting a friend just before they go live on the app and they are ready to buy them straight away. Tried several days in a row (Naas branch) to buy one and 2-3 bags were gone in seconds so I dont bother trying any more, it felt like dealing with Ticketmaster to get tickets and where other people have gamed the system.

Got a bag from Umi Falafel in Rathmines last week, it was €8 for two cups of soup and a tiny salad. Waste of time especially as they had a ton of falafel sitting there behind the counter. Now I know why their review score is only 4.1 which is a shame because its a good restaurant otherwise, just not for TGTG.

Could be the scripts alright, some other poster mentioned that.

Ah well, I'm not that desperate for a bit of out of date meat.

A good few of Ai shiite pics popping up today around Dublin for i believe the first time for frozen smoothie packs.

Looks like inflated pricing, 1kg of mixed frozen fruit down from 30 to 9.99.

I saw them a few weeks ago, and thought they were a very random thing to do on it, and not a great price neither.

Finally managed to get a James Whelan bag, it's a €9.99 one. Will add pictures when I pick it up later on, hopefully the hype matches the reality.

    JW.jpg

    A pack of 4 sausages (4.99)

    Chicken stir fry bowl (10.99)

3 free range chicken breasts (11.49)

    Beef shin (3.88)

More than happy with that and all dated for tomorrow.

I chanced a Square Dish bag today for the first time since someone here got stung with a two-slicer for €8.99 a while ago. €5.99 and it was four slices, so happy days.

    G.O.A.T Deli - Ashbourne 4.5

Didn't offer/ask about the sauce on chicken, but was a nice change especially as some TGTG can be dry
