One of my favourite threads when I was on backroads was my one on the Citroen CX. This one car really sums up everything I like about cars. Long sleek and stylish, luxurious, ultra comfortable, quirky and interesting technically. I recall being enthralled by this car when I read about them in magazines back in 1974. This video does a great simple demonstration of one. I much preferred the earlier models with the chrome bumpers and the quirky dash instruments.

Sadly I was never brave enough to go for one and have only owned two French car my entire life - a Peugeot 504 and a Citroen AX. I was very close to buying a Renault 14 in the 80's and a Citroen BX diesel at one point in the early 90's but both those deals fell through.

Oh forgot I did own a Peugeot 205 Gti (1.6) for a few years too.

I suppose if I were to pick (for me) a modern day equivalent of the CX it would be the Audi A7 etron

Interesting and cheap - non runner though. Should I go for it? Sure what possibly could be wrong with it.

Looks clean enough, previous mots wouldn't scare me off. Clock on second rotation so add 100k to advertised mileage, mileage at mot in 2012 was 90833.Pretty sure I have a pdf workshop manual for this model, if you buy I can send it to you.

Now this rig set up is not something you see at the builders providers every day. I was just mesmerized - I will let the pics speak for themselves. Ultra cool. 😎😎😎

Reg check says its a 1981 2.0 petrol and an import - I assume from the UK.

So I messaged the seller of the white CX. First reply was any questions ask away - obviously I asked him what was wrong with it - then silence for the past few days. Walking away time me thinks.
