I wouldn't be resting anyone at this stage. We only have one game a week and players will want to be playing. Maybe make substitutions a little earlier than normal, but nothing more than that.

We have 3 matches in the next 16 days. City have 5. They will have to be thinking how they rotate, but it's not really a concern for us any more.

    Mad isn't it?

Sportswashing, cheating, breaking transfer fees completely - Fine. PSG play an attractive style sure they're only brilliant

Conservative style of football - Burn them at the stake, they're ruining the sport

I just read that PSG will have an extra week (13 days) to fully prepare for the Champions League final. Their final league game is on May 17th and Arsenal's is May 24th. Damn!

Is that a good thing? If we're playing well, I want us to keep playing. How often do teams play worse after an extended break?

I don't believe it matters much. We might be sharper because we have played more recently OR we mught be able to rerst players if the last game is a dead rubber or be able to give Timber a run out to get him sharp.. Be nice to have the choice.

I support the Gunners and would love to see them win, but at the same time I always preferred watching Alex Higgins rather than Steve Davis or Terry Griffiths.

If City draw the next two, we beat West Ham by four goals, we go into the Burnley game at home, with an eight-goal cushion on goal difference, needing just a draw. It would be a great night at the Emirates.

I'm not so sure that's ideal for them either. 2 weeks off is a long time and there's absolutely potential there to lose a tiny bit of sharpness, especially in early stages of the game. Them not playing for 2 weeks may work against them. And with that said, I don't think Arteta will mass rotate on last day of season should the league be won by then

Arteta has hinted that neither Timber or Merino are likely to play again this season. I was hoping we'd have Timber back as I can't see White being able to handle Kyaratshkhelia.

Fúck, that's a big blow. Hopefully White improves with a few more games under his belt.

just reading online that part of the eze deal means if we win the league palace get 10m, I wonder will palace roll over for the 10m

    The internet isn’t for everyone

Lol if that's true, with the conference league final coming up and it basically being a dead rubber for them... take the 10m surely.

Whoever is top of the league going into the last day usually wins the league. Cant remember the last time that wasnt the case? Anfield '89? So I expect whoever is top between us and City after match day 37 wins it. Unless level on points and it becomes a goal difference chase.

I thought he was excellent against Athleti. Criticism of White in general has been too harsh imo

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,111 ✭✭✭KaiserGunner

He was poor for quite a few games, but looking back to his best the last couple of games and its clear his chemistry with Saka is there.

Would hope to have Timber back for the final though. If not, play White and Hincapie as the full backs. Calafiori is class, but defensively he can be found out. Dont think PSG would be a great game for him.

Obviously Timber is a better 'defender' and brilliant one on one, but absolutely does not link as well in attack with Saka and, dare I say it, Odegaard, as White does. I think the right back position requires serious consideration over the summer because nobody will ever convince me that we're getting the most from Saka with Timber in the team. Good player but not sure he's the fit for Saka.

Nervous. This is the toughest of our last 3.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,817 ✭✭✭Royale with Cheese

Think it's all on today tbh. Don't want to say win this and it's done but... probably 95% done. Gonna be another nervy one.

Almost had a panic attack as I couldnt find my "lucky" spoon that I have to use on day of game.

My daughter has big maths exam tomorrow and was studying last night with her. I then dreamt that West ham v Arsenal was decided by maths equations.

    Normal day I guess

Nervous and will only increase as the time gets closer. I really do think we have to come out of the traps early and put it to bed. Theyre fighting for their lives (assuming so) to stay up in this league. However theyre also down there on merit. Score early and demoralise them. Our last two league games there we've scored 5 and 6.

No excuses for the lads now, its there to be won.

We’ve moved house & found an Arsenal teddy recently while unpacking! He’s our lucky charm now. Will be sitting on the couch today.

I’ve just read a tabloid rag online saying Trossard’s wife has removed all trace of him on her social media. I’m hoping it won’t affect his form.

Praying for the win today after the cheats won yesterday and seem to be getting cocky again. I don’t want to see West Ham relegated but we’ve got to get those 3 points!

Yeah, I'm more excited than nervous. I feel like we've dug ourselves out of our slump in form a bit, and am more confident we can actually score some goals.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,613 ✭✭✭wassie

Yep confidence is definitely on the up. Listening to the match preview on the Athletic FC podcast, they were claiming that April is statistically Arsenals worst month during the season under Arteta, so hopefully with that out of the way its onwards and upwards.

We should smash West Ham today if we play like we did against Fulham, get the job done in the first hour and rest a few of the lads

I hope so too, get it done early and we've 8 days to prepare for Burnley. Speaking of Burnley I'd be very wary of them. Since they've gone down the pressure is gone and they've just scored early against Villa. Get today done first, that's the big one.

Team news should be coming up soon enough.
