Posters that complained about the football and the subs on the side of the pitch on tuesday, but did not complain about the same style and the subs on the side of the pitch on Wednesday did it for only one reason. And that is to annoy the arsenal fans.

Do not then be surprised when the Arsenal fans get annoyed.

And by replying to those posts in such a childish manner shows that it is working. Do Arsenal supporters want this to be an echo chamber for the Arsenal thread? I have never seen a fan base on here so sensitive to any sort of criticisim as Arsenal posters this season. Posters here have been called scum, salty, hypocrites just to name a few by Arsenal supporters.

Teams at the top are there to be shot down and criticised in some way. Its a compliment that they are doing something right but some posters can't see that and get offended, I do wonder at times if it is actually adults posting here. And you do realise there is an ignore button here that can be used? Or else debate the post instead of posting immature replies.

And which PSG subs were getting in the way of play proceeding and getting booked for interfering? Maybe thats why it wasnt mentioned, cos the players werent being tools about it

Or maybe it's because the 4th official done their job and immediately rectified the situation in the second one to the point it never became an issue.

No Arsenal fan expects this to be an Arsenal echo chamber.

That said, after the game on Tuesday night, Arsenal fans were given grief for coming on and calling other fans salty rather than celebrating the win. The reason for this is because there were at least half a dozen comments giving out about Arsenal before an Arsenal fan even made a comment! It's not rocket science.

It amuses me that you think Arsenal fans are offended. We're loving it!

Well that is complete lies, the first post after the final whistle praised the performance of Arsenal. The second was from YOU praising Arsenal for their shithousery. So you made a comment first, that is not rocket science. The least you could be is truthful in your argument.

And for fans absolutely loving it why are ye so upset and constantly replying to these posts that ye love so much🤷‍♂️

I see that Kane's consolation goal last night might be enough to push Germany ahead of Spain for the extra CL place next season. Will depend on tonight's results with Freiburg and Vallecano both playing.

Quite happy to be pendantic if that's the road you want to go down. Yes, I said I enjoyed the game at the end, but I wasn't getting called out as an Arsenal fan who is calling other fans salty, so it really is irrelevant.

By the time the next Arsenal fan came on with the salty meme, at least half the preceding comments were having a bitch about Arsenal.

Thankfully all the United and Liverpool fans I know in real life are positive about Arsenal, or at least they pretend to be!

No idea why you think I'm upset. You're as bad as the poster who told me I was condoning something I'm against, as if I've ever told them what I do and don't condone.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,608 ✭✭✭giveitholly

And if half the comments were bitching about Arsenal then the other half must of been praising them? You do know how these threads work? Not all people agree, thats the beauty of it. You said you love people not praising Arsenal yet you are constantly in here complaining about posters having a go at Arsenal. Which is it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,277 ✭✭✭TheRona

Is stating the result of a match praising Arsenal? No, the other half weren't positive.

I'm not complaining about people having a go at Arsenal, I'm explaining why some Arsenal fans (not me) called other fans salty! You're so keen to have an argument, you've lost the run of yourself.

Oh look a poster praising Arsenal straight after the result. But you are spouting lies to try get across your point. The last thing i want is an argument, just stating facts. And if I have lost the run of myself well don't look in the mirror. Anyway we are going around in circles with this. Its my last post on it. Good evening to you👍

Oh come on, don't post only that comment. Post all of them! You're not fooling anyone 😊

Good evening to you as well.

I guess Arsenal are getting alot of criticism from either fans of other prem clubs that dislike every other prem club regardless who they are, and neutrals that dislike their brand of football. At least by playing PSG they may receive some support in the final by not being disliked as much as PSG.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,857 ✭✭✭✭breezy1985

If you are talking about me I couldn't be more neutral. I don't give a fuk about Arsenal, United, Liverpool or any of those other teams Irish people get weirdly obsessive over. The whole reason I don't support the Premier League is this total black and white sht.

I was just calling what I saw and I did say soon after I don't blame the players. I blame the officials.

Also I posted that before the final whistle.

No wasn't referring to you at all,was talking about the post before yours, your post just happened to be in the screenshot, apologies

Is Rayo upsetting Strasbourg and getting to the final of the conference league enough to get Spain a 5th UCL spot?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,817 ✭✭✭Royale with Cheese

Bournemouth, Brentford and Brighton must be eyeing up a Champions League place now. Well done Chelsea for appointing LinkedIn Liam, seriously fúcked that one up.

Six from England is at least one too many but if it has to happen it would be interesting to see a new face in the competition.

Wasn't there something about Kanes goal pushing Germany ahead, and Freiburg also won so could still be with Germany now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,133 ✭✭✭adaminho

Rayo winning tonight gave the final spot to Spain. If they had drawn it would have went to the final.

It's all explained very clearly on bbc sport website. Can't remember what the permutations are now following tonight's results. But its all there on BBC.

Main thing is Villa won (sorry I know this is Champs League thread). See you here properly next year !!

La Liga gets the extra CL spot now, it's done regardless of what Freiburg do from here

Why would neutrals dislike PSG? They play a brilliant brand of football.

If you’re talking about owners I really think that debate is kind of water under the bridge. The game of football is riddled with dodgy owners and the money introduced is in the system everywhere.

FIFA is corrupt. UEFA is corrupt. They ban Russia due to political pressure. They don’t ban Israel due to political pressure. They give Donald Trump a FIFA Peace Prize.

Why are you saying PSG are “disliked”. Speak for yourself I don’t “dislike” them. I would say anyone who “dislikes” them is actually because of football reasons. I like their brand of football I think under Enrique they are one of the best football teams I have ever seen.

Is there an issue with the morals of their owners? There’s an issue with the whole game of football and morality. In a sport where a country is allowed to continue to compete internationally and where their club sides are allowed to compete in European competitions while their government commits genocide and some of their football clubs are directly contravening UEFA regulations; chat about PSG’s owners or Man City etc. is rendered meaningless.

There are people who care about owners like the Saudis, the Qataris, Abramovich et al., and the consequent idea that you can use a Football Manager cheat to buy the league.

It doesn't seem to bother you at all, it bothers me to the extent that I think trophies won by Chelsea, Man City and PSG are worthless, but there are some who are even more exercised about it than either you or I.

They are neutrals who dislike PSG, and they exist in very large numbers.

There's a lot to be said for exciting and attacking football and 9 goal thrillers but as someone who played as a defender I get as much satisfaction from watching good defending and last gasp tackling that stops a shot or a certain goal. It just goes to show how differently people look at football and how some people enjoy the different styles. I have enjoyed many goalless draws that others found boring. There's something for everyone in football.

Most 10 year olds also can't tell the difference between "effect" and "affect", but will learn this in secondary school.

Use a football manager to cheat to buy the league? Not sure what you’re referring to specifically.

It does or it did bother me that there are no morals left in the game and that owners use football and other sports for sportswashing. I think some are genuinely concerned about it still but I also think some fans use it for football rivalry reasons to devalue an opponents achievements.

The Israel situation and football’s refusal to have the courage to do or even try to do anything about it has crossed the line with me. I no longer see the point in bringing up morals in sport etc., until such time as something is done about it. That’s not going to happen at all by the looks of it. The point regarding morals and ethics in football has been lost over time and in that context criticism of PSG or Man City success rings hollow.

Mod: A few of you are over the line or very close to the line. Cut out the childish crap on this thread, and any other thread. Maybe it's time from a break for the internet for you, because if it continues, you'll be taking a break from this forum.
