    Nice. Have Adore/RGT been on?

It's odd heading into town knowing Sprints are playing but heading somewhere else, but I'm really looking forward to Tomora

So many good gigs on tonight. Adore were top notch. No sign of RGT.

Sprints were superb. Carla really is the Mosh Mistress, had the crowd eating out of her hand.

(And the setlist is mine! 😉)

    RGT are on at 10.

Sprints are driving to Cork tonight.

ETA: Alternatively, looking at the timings for the button factory, Heineken have a load of people they wanted to see both Sprints and TOMORA or they only hired one lot of event staff and needed to shift them across.

    Tomora were absolutely wonderful 🙂

Caveat that I had a terrible week at work and was just the right level of drunk, I was so ready for this. But still.

I came it from the Chemical Brothers side rather than the Aurora side and got exactly what I came for. But i think I've missed out on Aurora before, her and her "twin" are utterly magnetic performers. Mostly really well choreographed but at times just jumping round like a seven year old at a wedding. They seemed so happy to be performing and so they should, the songs are just joyous. It was just wonderful from start to finish.

From the album I'd expected Ring The Alarm and Somewhere Else to be the highlights (and was a little concerned when they both came early). They probably were, but Drink The Light was euphoric and Come Closer was a beautifully intimate moment of delicacy.

Overall it was everything you could imagine they'd be together, and that's probably not always true of collaborations.

    Yeah, just wonderful

Feck, didn’t know that! Thought 9:30 was a very early finish. Never been to a gig where a band comes on after the headline. 🤯

I did have one complaint about the Tomora gig last night, but I guess it was free...

    No reports from Momentum Festival.

I was there on Friday evening. I think they have done a really good job with it. Nice space, though some seating outside the tent would be a good addition. They've used all local suppliers for the food, which is great to see. Ground was muddy in patches after the rain on Thursday so I'm not sure how well it held up over the past couple of days. Big crowd on the night, so hopefully they've made their money and it'll be back.

My one complaint, and it's fairly major, was the sound. There was a massive reverb/echo problem in the tent. I was about half way between the stage and the sound desk and it sounded like there was a second drummer playing out of time at the back of the tent. Really sounded terrible. I'm going again tomorrow, so hopefully they've somehow sorted it.

Another lovely evening in Belfast, this time in Saint Anne's Cathedral. I even managed to nab the Bishop's Chair 😎

A long term fan of Kate Rusby, but first time catching her live with the band. A unique voice along with some very relatable story telling. It looks like it's been a while since she played down south.

Robert Finley Whelans. Agree, gig of the year for me. Band were very tight and Finley and his daughter were magnetic. What a charismatic character and boy did he own that stage. Crowd was criminally small but atmosphere was electric. Lead guitarist was impressive

I saw Curtis Stigers in Theatre Royal, Waterford the other night . It was a fantastic intimate gig and he sounded fantastic.

Good show tonight by Super Furry Animals. The crowd were really up for it on a Wednesday night. Juxtapozed With U a highlight for me. Have Richard Ashcroft and Christopher Cross coming up in May too.

Super Furry Animals were excellent last night. Joyous feeling in the room, super set list.

Crowd was as flat as an ironingboard for their set. First time i've heard us compared to a London crowd.

They were having a laugh i thought. Didn't think it was that bad tbh. Picked up through their set anyway.

SFA were bang on it. Sounded like they'd never been away and not remotely a nostalgia fest. Run! Christian, Run!, Mountain People and Receptacle For The Respectable the highlights for me. Just wish all three songs had been longer as they were well into the psych zone. I always forget how Christian basically morphs into Spiritualized's Shine A Light at the end. I've had it on a loop all morning.

First time seeing Ice Hockey Hair for me in 20 years. Made the night.

Major fan of SFA but only the first time seeing them. Brilliant setlist - Mountain People, Slow Life, Run Christian Run, Receptacle and MDGF were all epic highlights. There was a couple of tunes that I'd have like to have heard but with the amount of quality in that set, it was hard to quibble. Got in early to catch all of Getdown Services as my daughters are big fans and they were fantastic. Really enjoyed the energy from them and their interaction with the crowd was great. After watching the energy of Getdown, I thought SFA felt a little flat, even though everything they were playing was great. It probably didn't help that they didn't kick in with the full visuals and lighting until a couple of songs in. They seemed to get fully into their groove by around the time of Hello Sunshine and it was an amazing show. The extended coda on MDGF was truly epic.

I thought they struggled a bit at the beginning when the venue was less than half full. They feed off the crowd energy. I saw them in the WC and they had the place hopping. Then I wasn't sure were they just a comedic interest but last night I could see/hear their musicianship. Also fair play to them for calling out the venue and their 25% cut on Merch. sales.

    SFA OK!

Ice Hockey Hair probably my standout for the night but lots of excellent tunes. Focus Pocus sounded great I thought :)

That's a real shame. They had the place bouncing in Belfast towards the end of last year.

And the Button Factory. Support slots are always tricky, particularly for a high energy bunch.

Yeah, I felt conflicted at the start of SFA. All the songs you'd want to hear... and played well but it didn't feel special until Hello Sunshine... after that the gig really came alive.

Great setlist... sure they've never put out a bad record.

(Comedy) gig. John Kearns in The Sugar Club. Very funny, whacky and moving in parts.
