Seeking advice, reassurance – something!Bit of background. In my early 50s – still menstruating fairly regularly ( once a month 3 – 4 weeks). In my teens / 20s – always suffered with periods. Awful cramps, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea. That got a lot better after having children. About 10-12 years ago, I had a colonoscopy on the back of blood in my back passage ( only during my cycle). I remember the doctor at the time saying there was nothing sinister there and mentioned endometriosis.

Fast forward to circa 6 weeks ago. Went to my GP with sore legs, hips – got a deadness in my legs from time to time. Sent for MRI – and despite my MRI only being for my lower back and hips – they flagged on the report some cystic changes ie ovarian cysts. Mentioned “ 4.3” I think in relation to its size – but I don’t know.

Had a vaginal and tummy ultrasound last week – and GP wants to refer on to gynae. Mention of lesions and varicose vein – not sure if that’s a bad thing or fairly normal in this cystic world.

GP in the process of referring me on for a consultation. I have lower back pain and do feel bloated – and am beyond terrified of what it all could be. I don’t know if I can wait weeks / months for an appointment.

Does anyone know of any private clinic I could see without having to wait? I can log in and see my MRI and Ultrasound scans...mean nothing to me, but hopefully will to a professional! I am based in Leinster.

There is a dedicated endo site in Ireland https://www.endometriosis.ie/

While that may not be your diagnosis in the end it covers so many of the related symptoms that you may find useful
