Guns N' Roses 3Arena - June 10th

As I'm now officially attending this gig (hurrah!) - my 8th Guns N' Roses show overall since my first in 2006 (also in Dublin).

I no longer live in Ireland so travelling back for the gig, and picked up a ticket on the resale market (thankfully didn't pay some of the frankly INSANE prices I've seen online) but it does mean I'm up "in the gods" for this one.

I felt it would be good to start the thread as I looked through and couldn't find one about it.

I'm looking forward to seeing a great show once again and it'll be nice to be back in Dublin for a few days and to reconnect and see how much it's changed.

I ain't paying 180 euro to sit in the Point.

Some of the tickets prices for that gig are insane.

Yes, I must confess, the last few times I've seen them it's like night and day to before Slash/Duff rejoined. They normally play a video on the screen which counts down to the start time and it's always on point to a fault - I think everything he did in the 90's was simply his way to massage an ego. Though, in fairness, the 2006 gig I seen in Dublin was also on time - I remember so many people running back from the bar in the RDS screaming "oh ****, he's on time!"

I've never seen them before although I'm not a big fan. I am in Derby the weekend of Download to see Linkin Park on the Sunday. I don't know if I should pay the £145 for the Saturday to see Guns N Roses. From what I hear Axl doesn't sound so good.

Could it be argued that Guns N Roses are a rare situation where they could benefit from getting a new singer when the original singer is still alive?

Mammoth WVH good support but not too justify those kind of prices

I'm glad I'm old now and have already seen pretty much every act I'd ever want to see, and have little interest in any new bands coming out. Ticket prices have gone absolutely insane.

Probably not. The ticket map is up and only shows about 60 or so tickets left. Those are nearly all resale. A reseller might reduce the price a bit closer to it if still stuck with tickets

Availability has been coming and going for various sections over the past months and weeks. I don't buy the BS "Low Availability" sticker that went up a few weeks back - availability in most sections of the map has been available throughout.

I would say there is a strong likelihood that one of these silly Slashes top hat VIP ticket types in row ZZ going for 300e plus will be moved to a standard ticket and sold as such for a normal price.

The Paul Simon and GN'R gigs coming up have moved things on in terms of price gouging. As much as I love both I am glad to see neither are sold out and there seems to be good availability for both - granted Ticket**tard will say "limited availability" and try manipulate people and the market as much as possible!

there isn’t good availability for gun n roses. You can select a ticket from ticket map right now and see how many tickets are left. Checked it this morning, only about 80 tickets by my count.

That was a great show. He was on stage bang on 8:05pm.

So when I bought a ticket for the Sept 2010 show, I was thinking that would something similar with no pricking about..…how wrong did that turn out

Yes, I was at that one as well, that was a very unfortunate night. I never got that refund. I left after they left the stage the first time…wasn't there when they came back….

Had a look at the ticket prices just out of interest (already had Nick Cave tickets for that night). Crazy money.

Have seen them every time they've been here since the RDS gig in 2006 and also remember running from the bar as I didn't think they'd be there on time!! Shame I'll miss them this time and hopefully they'll be back for a final hurrah.

If you think these tickets are crazy money (they are!) then lets wait and see how much they'll be charging for a 'final hurrah'. Probably a bigger venue but they prices won't come down much if at all. The general public will pay the inflated prices, the promoters know it and things will only get worse.
