Camavinga might be for sale this summer. He’s been poor for a while but I really think there’s a player there.

“One of the negative names of Real Madrid's season finale has been Eduardo Camavinga. The midfielder has gone through tough times in recent weeks, especially after the sending-off he suffered against Bayern Munich for a double yellow card. This is a confession made by the footballer himself during an interview with Canal+.

"It is a bad memory. I think it is an incident that I did not expect at all and that affected me, but it is part of a footballer's life," explains the midfielder. "I'm not lying to you, after that I disconnected from everything. I think we live better without social media. You see that football is ungrateful; you can have ten good games, you'll have one bad one, one mistake, and people will forget the ten good ones," he adds.

Additionally, during the interview, Camavinga also revealed how his teammates reacted in the dressing room: "They came directly to support me in the dressing room. They came to tell me it wasn't my fault, that it was a refereeing error. I took it as my own mistake. The next day, even the club sent me messages telling me it wasn't my fault."

Among the most understanding with the Whites' '6' was his compatriot Kylian Mbappé. "We didn't necessarily talk about it, but he was affected (by the criticism Camavinga received) because he saw me in the morning and gave me a big hug. We always hug, all the time. On Monday morning, Mbappé saw me and said: we are surviving. I felt he had empathy, he had experience."

Camavinga's errors against Mallorca, Girona, and Bayern Munich have placed him in a delicate position. His progression over the last few years has not been as expected, and there are even symptoms of regression. He has not started a match since April 10 and has only come on to play the final minutes of each game since then.

His lapses in concentration throughout matches have even positioned him as a possible sale this summer. As far as the footballer is concerned, his only idea is to stay at Real Madrid and fulfill his contract, which ends in June 2029.”

Isn't he plagued with injury issues. Ankle injuries, hamstring injuries, and has injured ligaments in both knees all in the last three seasons.

This has been hanging over City for a long time now and it hasn't had any visible effect on them signing players.

The players will be told "no chance" either way. City aren't going to sit there and say "well… maybe we could get an 60/70/80 point deduction".

They will maintain their innocence even if they are found guilty

EDIT : and money will make a lot of questions go away from a player / agent

A lot of talk in the last few days of signing Ederson from Atalanta for £40m.

I think I'd be staying away from any Madrid cast-offs. Generally doesn't work out well.

I know it’s a CL semi final, but the absolute shenanigans of simeone and arteta, you wouldn’t see that carry on at a zoo.

Worst CL semi I've seen in years. Both teams playing scutterball and the Arsenal subs being on the pitch interfering with throw in for the last 10 was wild.

"Well, yeah, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man"

Its monkey see, monkey do. Their manager behaves that way so they feel they can too. These are professionals and they carried on like rowdy teenagers. A disgrace IMO

Aye turgid stuff. Psg or Bayern i think will batter them by at least 2 goals.

Hope they get battered in the final!

Athleti can feel hard do e by, had 2 legit peno shouts waved away tonight. That said, when Simone is the lest worst manager for acting the ginnet on the sideline you know it's bad.

Nobody batters them though, they drag teams into a muckfest and usually win these days

Thinking it would be apt in many ways for Bayern to beat Arsenal in the final by a Harry Kane winner.

Honestly was like sunday league near the end with the amount of 'subs', coaches, random people just jumping about on the touchline. Ball must have been in play for about 60 seconds of the 5 mins. Arsenal subs booting the ball away, awful stuff.

Dont think we should be going anywhere near the likes of Camavinga myself, stinks of a paycheck move to me. Our blueprint for incoming players looks to have shifted from big signings, so many false dawns over the last 10 years i'd be ok if we've moved on from that completely, personally I'd like to see players coming in with room to improve, not a player trying to reinvent himself on massive wages.

I'd take a summer like last year, young hungry players with plenty of room to improve

I think there's a balance to be had, last year's signings have been very good, and a lot of that has been down to having Casemiro in the team with them.

Cunha and Mbuemo could easily be classified as big signings, they were in or around 25 and well proven / big players (just not at big clubs) when we got them. And we paid big fees for both.

Camavinga is only 23. Don't know enough about his injuries etc to have a strong opinion on whether it would be a good signing but if injuries and desire weren't an issue, he would be absolutely ideal imo. Young, proven at a big club, and quality.

the talk of camavinga being contract or wages talk is silly imo.

Its ignoring the fact he has been played out of position loads, isn't likely to be first choice in his position, got sent off in a CL knock out game, Madrid fans pointed to him as a scapegoat etc etc.

There are plenty of reasons to steer clear - a lot of the above and injury issues are red flags against a player who at 23 still clearly has a lot of talent.

But to suggest it is just contract talk is silly.

Tchoumeni on the other hand very much does sound like contract talk to me. But maybe that is silly too. He just seems a lot more important to Madrid than Camavinga, and a lot more liked.

I think our CM signings will be 3 from Ederson, João Gomes, Wharton and Mateus Fernandes.

Can't see Anderson going to anyone bar City, Tonali will be priced out of it and the 2 Madrid lads as has been mentioned seems the usual agent talk.

apparently there is £150m for the midfield rebuild - which is odd to me in that why ringfence x% of the budget to the midfield.

but just to look at 150m:

tonali 80m with 2 years left? or Tchoumeni for 80? 2 years left also.

fernandes maybe 40m if they get relegated.

ederson with 1 year left, or gomes should be available for the remaining 30m.

then there is also baleba, alex scott, stiller. lots of options available, though i'd avoid ederson and baleba, and camavinga.

the bulk needs to be on the cas replacement, not a mainoo upgrade imo - which apparently wharton has been profiled as.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,926 ✭✭✭ericzeking

I wouldn't be surprised if Baleba was pretty much done behind the scenes, wasn't there talk that he had agreed to come last year when we were priced out. The way his season seemed to be totally distracted early on suggests there was certainly a big desire on his end to move to United.

extra funds with CL qualification assuming quarter final exit after playoff.

not included is replacement for tezos training kit sponsor expiring - worth 24m per year.

sleeve sponsor also expires in the summer - worth 20m per year.

carrington naming rights - AON was worth 15m per year.

players salary increase will dig into this also.

Ideally would like Tchouameni and Fernandes with either Scott or Gomes as third addition. Think we will need someone with aerial ability in the middle of the park to replace what we will lose with Casemiro leaving and Tchouameni the best of all otions for that alone

Thought they were banning gambling companies or does that only count for jerseys?

25% reduction from the tezos deal, but its something at least.

only front of matchday kit is banned. have at it anywhere else. it should certainly be banned from tv commercials IMO.
