I think the thing with Amorim's midfield vs Carricks is that Amorim wanted all build up to go to the wings and he was very keen for a long ball to the striker and win the 2nd ball, the CBs were the ones tasked with the build up, not the midfield. He seemed to want 2 workhorses in midfield. That's not really a midfield set up that suits someone like Kobbie, who likes to take it from the CBs, play 1-2's and nick it around the corner. Whereas Carrick tends to prefer us to build up through the middle where possible. It's interesting as both managers are former midfielders but have completely different ideas and expectations for what their teams midfield should do.

100%…. That goal isn’t scored without Bruno’s contribution, it’s absolutely an assist.

Does he not deserve the job?

I think yesterday showed exactly why he shouldn't get it.

He's done really well but he's so naive. Was the exact same at Middlesbrough.

As an aside, if we beat Sunderland at the weekend, the Sideshow Bob haircut will resurface for the Forest game. As little as I care for him or his head, it'd be great to not have that circus following into next season.

We were 2-0 up inside 15 minutes and were pegged back because of 2 mistakes by players. What exactly did Carrick do or not do yesterday specifically that showed why he shouldn't get the job?

    Good point.

Would be great to see the back of it.

Liverpool done sweet FA except get two goals from balls passed to them by 2 moments of madness.

How that is the managers fault is beyond me?

The fella has single handily turned that team around and has the most points won in the league since he took over.

Why in gods name would he not deserve it?

When you see some madly deflected goals been given to the person taking the shot, the same rules should apply for assists

Great result yesterday. Didn't see that first half coming but thought the crowd and players showed huge energy. Couldn't believe how naive Liverpool were in the first half. Little bit of arrogance about them I felt.

Two silly goals in the second half gave them momentum but I still felt we'd get another. Mainoo played well again. Recent form has been very good as I didn't think he was showing much prior to that.

All our attacking players were very good yesterday. I'm a big fan of Sesko. Massive scope in him. Has a toughness about him too.

Big summer ahead. Go and get Anderson and two fullbacks at the very least.

Dont think we should be going near Palmer for Chelsea, he can go completely off the boil for weeks on end

He looks completely off his game the last few months.

Wouldnt go near him considering his cost.

Tchouameni and Fernandes from WH is where we should be looking...cannot see Anderson going anywhere but City

Why oh why did the club think Delap would have been a good signing.

Keane has being forced to change his tune about Carrick potentially getting the job full time.

Lot of people mentioning likes of Enrique but why would he leave an unbelievable team to take on a Utd side which still needs major work.

Probably Wilcox from his time working with him at City and the fact he was cheap. Joe Shields whose one of the heads of recruitment at Chelsea is another ex City lad who when he got the Southampton job to lead their recruitment signed four lads from City's academy.

    Young,cheap and English.

The Chelsea move has been a disaster for him but hes a decent player .

Id expect him to have a good career at mid table clubs.

Dont think we'll need too many signings in the summer. Onana back as cover, Rashford suites for the lw and Hojlund back up striker. Sorted. Pity Antony wasnt on loan

Baleba played well on.Saturday. He could be back to last seasons form.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,871 ✭✭✭Iseedeadpixels

We need as much money as possible.

    Dorgu at LW over Rashford.

New back up striker over Hojlund.

    Onana can just **** off.

Jaysus they’re still showing replays of Sesko’s goal on Sky and asking if it should have been disallowed …. FFS the VAR images were inconclusive, yet they keep dragging it back up like there’s some hidden angle that’s going to prove it was handball. At this point it feels like anti United media bias more than actual analysis.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,449 ✭✭✭AidoEirE

Thing is imo, it shows the message of how bad VAR is with the amount of coverage it gets, even if you give it or not.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,602 ✭✭✭fatherted1969

Goal should have been disallowed and play brought back to the initial challenge on Sesko, Jones would have been sent off and Utd would have had a penalty. Not sure why it wasn't disallowed if they saw contact, thats what they did in the City match and pool fans lost their life when Szobo was given the line, ye just cant win with those guys 😕

Sturridge on sky sports and Richards on MOTD were both certain that the footage showed the ball hitting his finger. I just couldn't see it for certain no matter how many times they showed it.

He was struggling to get ahead of Milner a few weeks ago.
