Digiweb Zyxel DX3301-T0 Bridge Mode

I am wondering if anyone knows how to properly setup bridge mode on the Zyxel DX3301-T0 provided by Digiweb. I haven’t tried contacting Digiweb because ISPs normally don’t provide support for third part routers.

I have switched the WAN interface from Routing to Bridge mode but it does not work. I have also disabled the firewall and LAN DHCP. I currently have the ONT plugged directly into the Dream Router 7 using PPPoE credentials and VLAN 10, and it is working fine. They need the Zyxel DX3301-T0 because they use home phone.

When I am testing the Zyxel DX3301-T0 I have the ONT plugged into the WAN port and the router into LAN1 on the Zyxel.

I'm pretty sure you should be able to connect a switch to the ONT and connect both routers to it instead.

You can Configure Zyxel DX3301-T0 as a Switch, avoid network conflicts, you may want to disable the router's DHCP server and Wi-Fi capabilities. And connect it to your Dream Router 7, and the phone settings will be kept in DX3301-T0

There will be double NAT though, which could cause issues

You’ll probably want the switch as @NotShero suggested. Bridging the Zyxel will probably prevent the phone from working too. It might also be possible to put the Zyxel on the LAN side of your router (configured for DHCP) but you’d need to forward the correct ports.

Does it need to be a managed or unmanaged switch? I reset a spare Flex Mini 2.5G I had lying around and didn't adopt it, and neither of the devices got an IP. Is there anything in particular I need to do to get it working?

I would say ideally unmanaged. The Zyxel from Digiweb should just work but your own router needs to be set to PPPoE and set VLAN ID 10.

I can confirm that this worked, in my case digiweb@nga.digiweb.ie I was also able to take the Zyxel completely out of the equation, going directly from the WAN cable into my own TP Link Deca mesh, so no messing around with other intermidiaries. Thanks!
