I am dreading these two games, can’t see where we pull a performance from. Couldn’t get tickets for the bohs match as it’s a lottery trying to get them but expecting little from tonight at Dundalk. First time at oriel , any tips or places to park ?

which one is on the box tonight?

With what’s been let go already by our club, I wouldn’t be overly trusting of any result being the one that calls the end for Joey.

He struggled a bit at CB but he is young, new to the team and the entire team was struggling at that point as well. Russell moved him out wide for the Derry match and he's done very well there for the past 4 games.

They are missing a trick not showing shels matches , goals galore at our games , albeit the football isn’t great!

Inflicting Shels on anyone who isn’t already brainwashed into watching seems harsh.

Bohs Derry, and you've just made me realize I've left the house early. Oh well. A pint it is.

In wexford tonight, the optimism is low though 😅 even though we got a fee, im not sure mpongo to cork was the right move for us. Would have offered us something up front and probably the difference in wherever now and lagging down the table

But fot an accident on the n7 last year (not mine) going to kerry, would be completing the LOI checklist too tonight. One more trip needed

Another clown of a ref afraid to send off a player. Linesman even said elbow on Boyd’s face and ref just dishes out yellows to everyone but the f**ker

Will Shels bottle a two goal lead again…

More rubbish officiating tonight at Dalymount. O'Reilly given a 2nd yellow for a very tame challenge then minutes later Hickey catches the ball thinking Derry are offside and only gets a yellow.

Fairly entertaining second half at Dalymount with a draw probably a fair result. A draw with Derry usually a good result but with recent run of form and them being down to 10 men, not so much. Boh's showed unreal intensity to get the equalizer - I never understand why teams don't keep that up for a winner when they have teams on the ropes like that

My one word review on Rovers tonight: Toothless.

Draw a fair result I think. Worrying to see the drop off in our performance from 1st half, but I suppose that is due to Bohs upping their game considerably.

2nd yellow for O'Reilly was a bad decision, but from the refs viewpoint it probably looked bad. The fact that the Bohs player play acts makes the refs mind up.

As for the defender taking the mark. Left me totally baffled. Not even sure what the rule is, yellow or red?

I think he thought if he takes a bad touch taking it down he’d be outpaced, so safer bet to catch it. Very strange all the same

Important wins for Drogheda, Shelbourne and Shamrock Rovers. Pat's will be kicking themselves for not seeing the game out.

Surprise result in Turners Cross. UCD and Wexford strengthen their place in the playoffs. Kerry's bad winless record goes on and on. Bray drop out of the top 5.

Rovers looked good first half and created a decent amount of chances but the second half was extremely poor. Really made tough work of that when it should have been a routine win, although Waterford were better second half. Ozhianvuna got on the ball a lot and looked exciting at times but his end product was way off.

That Hickey handball in the Derry game was ridiculous, how was he not sent off.

For once the injury time goal goes out way. Deserved point against Pats. We worked so hard to get that point. Two super strikes from Bolger who was superb again for us.

Pats were great first 20 mins, I thought we were in for a chastening night. They moved the ball brilliantly and movement of Leavy and Forrester was so good. We got a hold from 25 on and went into HT with momentum. Killed immediately with a soft goal but the fight for the last half hour was superb. Pats never threatened the goal outside the 2 goals, seemed to just sit off after both and just let us dominate the ball. I'd have taken a point beforehand so it'll do nicely.

Yeah, strange one. I've never seen a player sent off when they fall and grab the ball like they often do but at the same time in that situation the player who grabs the ball is the one in possession.

The argument would be it's not a denial of an obvious goalscoring opportunity. But I mean, one yellow card for hand ball, and then a 2nd for playing a different sport.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35,357 ✭✭✭✭CSF

Genuinely not sure that’s a red by the letter of the law.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,644 ✭✭✭legendary.xix

Stephen Elliott and Colin Healy are two former internationals. I think they were club mates across the water for a few years as well. Stephen Elliott seems to be doing a reasonable job with Wexford. Healy on the other hand, despite a fine cup run last year, hasn't sparked an improvement in Kerry's league performances. Ended last season with 8 winless games. Only 1 win from 13 this year. 5 more games to the midpoint. Got to be Healy's timescale to turn things around.

Is he denying a goal scoring opportunity? That is the threshold between yellow and red. By the bizarre token that he should actually be in control of the ball if he doesn't catch it(!), then it is a yellow.

It was weird. But overall I was happy. Poor enough in first half but we really took it to Derry in second half. Deserved the draw and a win would not have flattered us.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,965 ✭✭✭Hodors Appletart

Lads. That's a red card. He caught the ball.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 568 ✭✭✭DireD

Healy is a poor manager. Got off lightly at city because of our idiot owner

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,720 ✭✭✭Barnaboy

Why? Look up reasons why a red card is issued. Catching ball near halfway line is not on it. Weird, yeah. Red card, no.

It probably should be a red, but yeah, I don’t think there is actually any rule to send a player off for. I don’t think it is DOGSO in this case.
