So I had my 152 dacia duster left back in the dealership last week due to having a engine light and zig zag light turned on and sluggishness when moving off, they diagnosed the problem as a broken lambda sensor which they fixed. Got the car back last Friday the 26th and car felt perfect, no lights and running well.

I then parked it up until yesterday as my NCT was due, I drove to the centre and the car passed no issues. When I left the centre the zig zag light returned and engine was hissing with sluggishness again. Is it possible this is related to the work the garage carried out? I've attached a pic and the lambda sensor looks fairly shoddy tbh. Any advice welcome. Thanks

Is this a diesel or petrol car? Guessing zig zag light is the glow plug light so it's a diesel? Looks like a genuine Renault replacement to me. Did the garage do a proper diagnostic on this? Was it main dealer or indy mechanic? Smells like this could be a DPF issue rather than a lambda sensor issue…..Do you do many short runs in the car?

It is a diesel alright yeah, I was advised when I had the initial problem that dacia would need to look at it. Im living in Dublin so there are short trips. Dacia done a full diagnosis last week and said it was the lambda/oxygen sensor. Paid 550 for the diagnosis and fitting of the part. Im thinking the emissions test for the nct yesterday caused something to happen as the car was perfect prior to leaving it in for the NCT.

Im just hoping im covered under the warranty from last week's work, im thinking surely if its a separate issue it should have been spotted during the diagnosis.

You should really be covered if the dealer failed to sort the issue initially. I'd be looking for evidence of testing / diagnostic of the original lambda sensor to prove it was faulty.

From what you describe this is almost certainly a DPF issue.

JFC, diseasels really are a pox. The so-called Greens have a hell of a lot to answer for.
