What are the best routes from Heuston Station or the general vicinity to Donnybrook Village? I know the 39a goes from the Ushers quay to Donnybrook.

    Any other options?

E1 or E2 bus to Abbey street and get the luas to Houston

A quick look on Google Maps shows there's no single direct route, for most of them you'd take a 4 from Heuston then change in town. If you have a Leap card, the €2/90 minute fare would apply and I'd be inclined to take the Luas to town, then the E1 the rest of the way.

Agree with Luas + bus option in the previous post but note that the E1 and E2 both serve the same route and bus stops from the city centre to Donnybrook.

If there's any issues with mobility, the option which will involve the least amount of walking is if you get the No. 4 bus from Heuston to Nassau St., then walk back to the previous bus stop (406) and get an E1 or E2 to Donnybrook.

There's also the 11b which follows the same route as the E1/2 from D'olier Street/Nassau Street to Donnybrook. However it only runs in the off-peak (around 9:45-15:45 on weekdays only)
