Saka, trossard and Jesus haven't had any impact at all

Eze offers something different and has such potential

Why can't we attack like this all the time

He's lost it twice there now in dangerous areas. Needs be better keeping the ball

    Excellent performance, very good result.

That performance is a confidence boosting one for the Fulham game

The over ruling by Var is a shocker, once it’s given on the pitch no way Var can over rule it

Referee folded. We'll do them at the Emirates with Havertz back.

    good result!

Would have preferred to have lost 5-4 like Bayern though….

Disgraceful decision. People then wonder why cries of corruption are called. No way in hell that's over turned at the other end of the pitch.

At least we're not trailing for next week. Overall a reasonable performance.

It was a fair result I suppose. There was a period there in the second half where they were clearly hanging on and it looked like the Athletico winner was imminent, but they weathered it and finished the game stronger.

The penalty reverse decision was a sickener. Arguably, it was a bit soft, but I still think it was a foul and once it was given on the field… Well, I'm amazed they overruled it tbh.

Having said that Lookman inexplicably forgot how to shoot when facing Raya from point blank range, so, Arsenal did get lucky too.

That was a tiring game. Hopefully they can go again in three days. There's some very tired looking players out there.

Hopefully Atletico/Simeone had their advantage there. He was effectively referring that game at the end. Shouldn't get that privilege at the Emirates next week. Keown is right as well. The Emirates crowd and Arteta should make it as hostile next week. And hopefully influence the officials like Simeone clearly did tonight.

That's a good result and Atletico are no great shakes. I didn't think the foul on Eze was a penalty at first seeing it but on the replays it definitely was. The Ref bottled it and I have no trust in VAR. I wonder when Timber is back ?

Hatchet job on Eze by RTE panel. See those pens given every week and no talk of diving ffs

Ah they couldn't be giving a penalty to an English team in Madrid, especially with the King in attendance. Shocking decision. Happy with the workrate and Fulham will be tough now before the second leg. COYG

Didi Hamann sounds pissed. He's a very poor pundit anyway.

I think we'd all have taken a draw before kick off with that line up. Serious crunch time for the season now with Fulham, Atletico and then West Ham away in the space of 9 days. Three scabby 1-0 wins there and things will be looking a lot better all of a sudden. That'll be the end of the midweek games for the season too, the team could do with a serious rest. Pity the world cup means the champions league final (should Arsenal get there) is a week after the premier league finishes, it would usually be two.

Normally I really like Didi and Sadlier but I totally disagree with them about that call. Poor decision from the ref

I’m a bit worried we’re not scoring many goals these days. They’ve really dried up.

We have a good defence but that counts for nothing when they’re fawning over the 5-4 result last night. I don’t even listen to the pundits anymore. It’s all the same anti-Arsenal rhetoric.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,613 ✭✭✭wassie

I would see the 5-4 result actually good for us.

Bayerns backline was shambolic that struggled with PSG's pace. All the while PSG conceded 4 goals from just 8 shots on target. Saliba & Gabby should be able to boss them in the final!! (I have full confidence!!)

    Scandalous that pen wasn't given.

No surprise to see the pundits getting their digs in. Hopefully we shut them up next week.

On the Bayern PSG game, yes it's great to see attacking football but when one of those teams are sitting on the couch watching the final on TV with the rest of us I imagine they won't be celebrating. Of course that game was used as a stick to beat Arsenal with btw, most predictable thing ever 😂

Presume you were out shopping for Arsenals goal?

Far too much camera time given to Simeone during the game.

reading article after article about how we were shafted last night is depressing but hopefully fuel for the boys next week. (of course boardsies on other chat generally disagree)

Whats the changes for Saturday? Surely both full backs and maybe entire front 4?

If Haverz is fit he has to start. Eze too.

Hopefully Califiori in at LB & I'd love to see Timber back instead of White, but don't see him being ready. The fall off for White has been dreadful, he looks a shadow of the player he was.

Don't think Hincapie has done anything wrong to be dropped

Defensively he hasnt, I just think Calafiori gives us better options going forward, and the forward line needs all the help it can get at the moment. Also, Hincapie might just appreciate a rest with the 2nd leg of the CL SF next Tuesday.
